Um, MS has given developers choice on many occasions, if you actually look. Rare chose to go all in on Kinect, chose to make Viva Pinata, Kameo, and SoT too. Black Tusk chose to make Gears. Every developer purchased by MS wanted the acquisition BECAUSE they are being given both their creative freedom and bigger budget...

Capcom is doing RE2 the right way, start to finish. Kudos to them to include all the right details from the original while blending it with the newer gameplay styles. Personally, I'd love to see Capcom take the series back to these story arcs. Remake 3 and CV, then continue the story directly from there. Classic zombies FTW!

Umm, Forza Horizon is the king of racers, arcade or sim. Playground has proven that they can continue to innovate and consistently produce top rated games. Now they are building a team for their second studio from people who worked on games like GTA, Battlefield, Hellblade, and MGS. Add to that the extra support they'll get from MS and there's no doubt they'll be recognized as top tier with the release of their newest project.

I don't know that much about TLOU2 because I don't follow PS, but if things are as you describe them to be then it does appear that the stories of each game are pretty similar with regards to how they introduce their female protagonists. In that case I believe it to be a double standard as well but, again, my information is limited like yours is.
