That's right, MS killed it this year! They delivered on their promise of committing to gaming. The new studios and shown games are the tip of the iceberg. In addition to what was shown (and it all looked good in spite of being predictable) there's plenty of new studios working on new games that haven't been announced yet. The only disappointment is that no 1st party game is replacing CD3 in the holiday lineup.
Haters gonna hate though!
The addition of seasons and enhanced terrain deformation have gotten my attention! It looks like proper rallying now, and I've missed games like Rallisport Challenge.
Wait, did you actually use "great" to describe GT Sport? Other GT's may be great against Forza Motorsport, but there's nothing great about GT Sport.
How could it not be better?
PS Now has badly compressed video/audio, it's full of lag, and it's missing key features of the original titles. Putting a physical game into a physical stream would probably still be better than PS Now.
Phil alluded to just that at the end of the show, going so far as to say that they intend to make their 1st party the best in the industry. A ridiculously bold claim but it certainly shows how serious MS is with their commitment. I'm glad Nadella restructured the company and finally gave Phil wings to fly with.
It's awesome to see that MS is making good on the promise of building a portfolio of games and studios, and Ninja Theory was an excellent grab to help get out of the "dude-bro" image MS is known for.
Yeah, Gears 5 is definitely on the radar for me, but I'm interested in hearing more about the TBS they're working on too!
I didn't realize that open world aspects and changing the color palette were, "Sony strategies".
MS said that the changes they are working on, IE making games, would take years so we (meaning anyone with a brain and basic reading skills) already knew going into E3 that things weren't changing overnight.
This year, they announced several new titles, bought five studios, and have at least two other unknown titles in development (one from Playground and one from Bohemia). That's not even including anything from the other studios that MS bought. MS obviously delivered on...
@ Space Ranger
Good thing all consoles have games to play then.
All the dick joking aside, you have a very good point.
Pretty handy with the jokes!
A gun with a dick and a butt? Come on, that's awesome!
I'd be inclined to say it was a dick move by the developers, but it both was and wasn't, LOL!!!
Now I want to play Saint's Row again...
You only read the title? See, the article is actually about digital assistants and what having them work with Xbox means. Besides that, what you gave is an opinion about YOUR future with Xbox, not about the future of the Xbox.
At any rate, you do realize that you're talking about Xbox not being able to "win you back"... yet you bought a PC to play Xbox games and are supporting the future of the Xbox brand? If that's truly the case, then Xbox already won...
"Xbox can already handle freesync, it's just the console's cpu is too weak to take advantage."
It's actually the weak CPU that gives Freesync its' benefit, smoothing out animations during times of unstable FPS. If the CPU were stronger it would have a stable framerate and Freesync would be pointless.
Why do you have to turn everything into a Sony vs. Microsoft argument? The OP you're commenting towards said nothing of platform in their post.
"...they'll be the same as the consoles we have now, just more powerful and prettier games."
God, I hope not. I want good advances in physics and A.I., not just prettier games with higher polygon counts. Games need to get smarter so new types of interactivity can be realized.
MS has a culture of creative freedom that you fail to acknowledge though (it's not my fault if you don't bother to look). It's been this way for years, so I doubt people like you will ever admit it anyways. FFS, you can't even be happy that MS has more studios because they didn't build them from the ground up? Playground is building their second studio from the ground up but that doesn't count either, right?
You guys are sad.
