I'd prefer less effects and no upsampling.
There was a sample of AC IV running on PS4 at 900p and 1080p. The difference is huge just because of the upsampling software
Unfortunate not nearly as much as it could have due to saving a few pence and not supporting SATA III
An interesting point regards cost - the typical selling prices of Atari ST's and Amiga's was around £350 to £450, equate that to today and it's over £1000 - or PC games pricing.
Some of the fault though lies with the console manufacturers today as they limit the hardware flexibility and offer no options whatsoever for users to buy more.
The PS3 suffered terribly from memory restriction and although there were quite a few revisions n...
lol yeah I have those probs with my US one :)
Not been effected (UK)
Does it support the full 3D HD audio or just stereo channels?
Cheers, was a truly fantastic game.
You'd think it was common sense to keep resolution and framerates native but I think it will go the same way as the 360/PS3 in the long run.
For 90% of the studios it's been effects over gameplay and image quality.
Lol. For some reason I could invisage using the voice from Crimson Skies :)
Thought maybe it had something to do with them using Euros as it works out cheaper than buying with pounds.
The extra taxes don't make up the huge difference.
I wouldn't be surprised if the US is a subsidized product paid for by EU so Sony can make sure get its the lions share of the console games market from MS.
The UK is paying even more than EU!!
I'm typing in what should happen with a fully functional browser but there's that niggling in the back of my brain saying "yeah but you KNOW there'll be some stupidly frustrating trick to block free gaming like memory restrictions etc" :)
It's just another interface.
You might not wanting it to do your banking, create emails, use web Office etc but there's now a great selection of high quality large scale games (as apposed to the little flash games) available now.

As I understand it:
PS4 browser is a basic Webkit browser with no Flash support
X1 uses a fully functional IE 11 browser with voice and gestures etc (would love to see a review to see if you could play Browser games on it as that would open up a whole new gaming area for a console.
Cod is just a basic copy of other fps games - certainly no innovations. You got to wonder about some ppl!
I'd really like to know how fully functional the X1 IE11 browser really is ie. could I play browser based games like I would on a PC and iPad.
Could I link to Outlook / Web Office and does the X1 support wireless printing.
I enjoy gaming but really I'm looking for the modern day Commodore Amiga / Atari ST etc
Atari 800/XL/XE/XEG
Amiga
Atari 2600
PS3
They should write the games as they would for a PC. Allow the gamer to enable/disable effects, features.
I'd happily turn of dynamic building shadows or hi res particle effects in a fps game if I could then have AA, 1080p @ 60fps.
I don't want jaggies, I don't want soft upsampled images, I don't want over compression, I don't want slow framerates where I can see 1 frame to the next so motion doesn't look silky smooth, I don't want drastically reduced draw distances so that distant landscapes look like mush.
I find it hard to understand why some of these topic posters don't get that.
The most frustrating thing I've found with consoles is:

It's fair to say that there's a subtle difference between next gen consoles and next gen gaming.
Now whether Valve's Steambox will change PC gaming to next gen (in format terms) is rather up in the air till we see whats actually being offered and how it's all put together.
