Great to see a developer not take a "working as intended" approach, and tell us owners of the product what is going on and how it should work...and even fix it.
Bioware is back!
But they abuse it because us comsumers allow them to.
I think the game will be great, but all the hype will hurt it. Usually, that kind of hype is saved for AAA games...and most of those don't deliver.
Now, there is alot of hype for a small indie studio's game...and expectations might really be too high.
I actually support the decision to not put in matchmaking for the raid and night fall (but the rest should be).
You have to really want to play the raid and commit to beating it when you hop on LFG (though I still run into guys who come in, there is one wipe, and they leave...b-stards).
In other words, making the barrier of entry higher means you really have to want it.
Bioware crushed it with this game.
I hope EA continues to let them do their thing and not force games out before they are ready/rushed.
Do they want to announce it at a prime time Sony event?
You could literally hear the heartbreak of nerds across the internet. Today was a hilarious day.
Jokes aside, why Sony gave these guys a spot to announce a simple port of a 17 year old game is bizzare. It really does feel like a joke. Im more excited to play Suikoden II than FFVII again.
Now, if they truly remade FF6 from the ground up. That would blow my mind to bits.
I would love to see a re-make (or better yet, a full remake of FF6), but the troll of SE here was mindblowingly awesome.
Watching gaming forums meltdown provided comedic gold.
Master class troll. Really, top notch stuff.
Spotless,
Well, this isn't WoW. And two, those expansions are years in the making, not 3 months. Plus, Bungie has stated that its not an MMO (which we all know it kinda of is). So the comparison is a little moot.
Sure, if you have multiple characters, a bunch of bounties saved up, then you can level a gun fast (assuming Xur has the one you want for upgrade...another level of bs).
Its the point of re-setting progress. Actively taking away pe...
None.
Its amazing that the the satirical commentary of GTA is completely lost on most casual onlookers. (and many players for that matter).
Gamespot posted a video talking about the difference between FPS and TPS and how it can really change the connection a player has to the world.
All of this really raises the question of "are video games different from books or movies, and if so, how..."
Stemming from this debate also highlights t...
Game looks flippin sweet.
My guess, is that this will be a thing far more often than in past generations.
Its a way to not have to develop your own exclusives, but still lucrative for developers to make for two different consoles.
In other words, it spreads the risk around.
Jeff,
I have enjoyed Destiny since launch...hell, even enjoyed it more once I hit endgame...But you have to admit...the releveling of exotic weapons that you have ALREADY upgraded is pretty silly. Just add a node and up the xp requirement. The taking away of perks just seems insanely punative for no reason.
The rest...I don't have much of a problem with. (Other than Xur limiting your progress)
They really did screw up the exotic leveling. I mean, dear gawd, who thought of that?! Can you imagine this conversation at Bungie:
D1: "Hey, do we wanna make sure old exotics stay current?"
D2: "Yeah, there isn't a whole lot of exotics out there and some people really like their guns."
D1: "Cool, I was thinking the same thing. Do you just wanna add a new node or two, but make the experience higher than just the normal mode? Yo...
Oh, the main story is pretty long for the modern game nowadays. Though I persoally would want a long main story, I think Bioware tried to split the baby in terms of if you wanted to play and beat the game with an average tim investment...go for it...but if you want to enjoy everything the world has to offer, go for it. Some of those side quests are pretty meaty, so it all works.
Im just pleased Bioware has returned to form. GOTY for me easily.
Because Destiny doesn't have near the amount of content to be even considered in the same ballpark as WoW, FFXIV...hell, even borderlands.
Sure, there are limits to progression in alot of these types of games, but in Destiny, it is exceedingly restrictive for not alot of payoff once you finally get it to work.
Further, the game actively dumps on players who actually play the game. (Ie high level players). Level your exotic all the way up that took alot...
No, they didn't ruin exotics. Having an opportunity to keep your current exotics viable is nice, but they have implemented it in the most punative way possible.
Just give me icebreaker and g-horn in the first few weeks and Ill be a happy camper.
Grind the new raid. Its is the ONLY thing you can do at this point.
