I mean, I think he was just making a joke. Not a terribly funny one, but I'm not sure he was trying to portray some malicious intent.
She is free to say whatever she likes.
Im curious whether all of this discussion is actually affecting game designers and how they make their games when it comes to women. Its not like game designers are some crazy-right wing goobers...most are probably pretty liberal when it comes down to it. (im just guessing here, but I bet I'm right).
IMO, I think she is focusing on the wrong issue. Women being depicted in games is merely a by-product of mostly me...
This is not acceptable. These posts are part of the problem.
I wish we had the world where he didn't make FF:Spirits Within. He may still be at Square....He may be making insanely awesome games with huge budgets.
I think his game direction is excellent and of course Amano's art is perfection for the FF games.
In Miyazaki I trust.
I sincerely doubt the game will be easier than the Souls games.
We have had the same conversation twice now...Is the game easier than the last one? It never is (especially if its your first Souls game).
Granted, the combat is tweaked here to get you more involved with the fight and to be aggressive, but I don't think for one second the game will be easier. If anything, it will be harder for me because I was a shield...
This has to be a joke.
That said, there do seem to be a few more games than say...2009 that are catering to a more "hardcore" audience.
Excellent!
I was wanting to play this game, and I am glad we all can enjoy it!
Im starting to really dig this generation. There seems to be an acknowledgement that some games can be hard and complex and people will like them!
Wow,
And then the DoD responded to the Author saying they didn't ban anyone.
This author should be ashamed. The whole "wrote the story with the facts at hand." Yeah, he wrote it without having heard from DoD just to smear and get some clicks.
Wow.
Like the industry as a whole, game reviewers are trying to redefine their role in a medium that has left adolsence and moved into "young adulthood."
Doesn't he always say that?
I disagree. I enjoyed the size.
If you are speaking about Exotics, Im actually a little okay with the drop rate. IMO the problem is the duplicate problem.
The drops happen often enough doing Nightfalls and Raids, but when you are looking for one or two guns, the chances of snagging it (without getting a dupe) is really low and can be really frustrating.
Well, I get what he is saying but it sounds terrible. The phrase translates into essentially "develop for casuals."
IMO the real sweet spot for games are relatively simple systems that are easy to understand, yet difficult to master. The souls game do this brilliantly as well as a few others.
I really had a tough time followinig what this guy was trying to say. Its not really a retro review, its not really a critique.
FF7 was an important game at the time. Few games can actually say "they were important" to the industry. Super Mario Bros, Halo, FF7, TLoU (but time will tell on that one), Ocarina of Time...just to name a few.
The styles of these games ushered in either some or all defining charateristics that were emulated by the gener...
They can take all the time they need. Looks awesome!
To the author of this article, for FFS, relax.
emad.
You are very wrong in terms of Thunderlord. It has never been sold.
My real issue with the game is that after how many HOURS of grinding...raiding, nightfalling, etc, you still may not have all the weapons you want...where someone who ran just a few may have everything.
The game woefully disrespects players time.
We have this conversation every time From Software releases a game. We had it talking about Dark Souls. We had it about Dark Souls 2.
From has not disapointed when it comes to keeping the difficulty up. Its not so much "difficulty" as it is a constant state of awareness and a penalty for death.
Long story short, From has given me no reason to believe they will drop the core mechanics of their games to appeal to a wider audience.
I guess if somehow Bioware figured out how to code the excellent gunplay of Destiny...then maybe....But that has never been Bioware's bag.
Two seperate games, and we are all better for it.
