Monster Hunter!
And everyone, please look at the dates. This is from March 7
Of course someone can say whether they like a game or not.
Whatever you say, bro.
That article fails to illustrate whether Battlefield outsold Bloodborne on the Ps4 ONLY.
Without those numbers this article is meaningless and insulting to anyone who reads it.
The man is a genius!
I would have loved to see some earlier builds of Demon's Souls before Miyazaki.
Im sure it had an even more Kings Field feel to it (as it seems that is what they were going with).
This man is a gem to the industry, and as long as he is making games, I will buy them. Day one. And buy the console it is on.
You are probably right...
With Ubisoft's awful 2014, I just don't have any confidence they can deliver a game in fine working condition day 1.
He was asking a question as a question.
I think by and large the Souls fans are happy. I've played everyone and love Bloodborne. The lack of diverse builds and playstyles is the only negative I can think of...and even then....its not mandatory.
You know, the way Bloodborne does the dodge....it kinda feels like Armored Core....
I mean, if you can find a way to play Demon's or Dark Souls first that would be great. However, Dark Souls 2 is a great game.
The issue is that Dark Souls 2 is a great game where Demon's, Dark, and now Bloodborne are masterpieces.
Im really looking forward to playing this game.
Though these guys are using some pretty big language, it really does seem that they are confident that the game is deserving of such language.
@BusterofWar,
I read your entire article, and though I agree in part with what you are trying to say, it seems you are delibretly using click-bait language.
Instead of taking a moment to reflect on how great the first experiences can be, you instead somehow blame Bloodborne for it not being the first, yet you then say it your favorite game.
Dude, what are you doing?
Of course nothing can compare to the first time you fire u...
Bioware is right about that, but being owned by EA, they can only fight them off for so long. They have been fighting them off pretty well though!
So long as EA allows Bioware to fully cook the game (ie Dragon Age Inquisition), then Bioware will continue to make great games that we know they are capable of.
Here is a theory of mine. Also, I wont comment as to which one is the best. This is where I conceptually have them.
Demon's Souls is still the center of the universe in Miyzaki's mind. It was a balance between stats and action. Level design, and hub...experimental, strange.
Dark Souls was a step towards the RPG side of things. More stats, more weapons and armor, more choice. Interconnected world was supurb.
Dark Souls 2 was ...
Compared to recent "console" wars, then the article is correct.
That said, this generation was getting teed up to be a big one.
Sony and Microsoft both had fairly different schools of thought on how gaming should go. (Always online DRM...that kind of stuff...kinnect...etc.)
Microsoft has since changed a few things and now both consoles are pretty similar.
I mean, it was number 1 with ps4 owners (as it is only on ps4). For sure the UK is doinig what they can to support creative and different games!
I mean, call a spade a spade here. A big name recognition FPS releasing on all platforms is going to do better than a single exclusive that is a little casual unfriendly.
Regardless, good job FromSoftware!
I enjoyed my time with it, but the ride is over for awhile.
For me, Destiny benefitted from a semi-weak Fall. Sure there were some decent games, but none that were true barn burners.
Now, Destiny is facing a strong few months of game releases, and Bungie's coyness with information and releases dates is finally driving the most hardcore players away.
Publishers will eventually realize that not all games are Call of Duty and that a nice profit can be made when you hold down costs and sales expectations.
That's a little misleading. When comparing with last gen releases as well.
If I remember correctly, Demon's Souls didn't go gangbusters over in Japan either. Hence why Sony wasn't so gunho about bringing it over to the U.S. It was Atlus who saw the potential for the game in the West and brought it over.
Regardless, it is selling just fine.
Like what others have said, it is a brilliant game design decision in what it is trying to accomplish.
It is trying to frustrate you. Thats part of it. Also, it wants you to think about what death will mean. Think about how you will do something different next time. And also, compared to some other games FromSoftware...a minute or two run back to the boss is nothing. Some levels in Demon's you had to do the whole thing again.
When you are frustrate...
Well, Father G. is on the harder side...but not the hardest.
