Well, now that I saw that SE might use subscription model with Core games, I'm not too sure anymore if the management is doing the right decisions. We are staring at the death of some part of gaming history here...
Yes it is! Quite the positive for gamers. He is a so-called "light-hearted RPG" guy, and was tasked to do way too mature and substantial projects. He messed up the first ever sequel to a final fantasy, FFX-2 and then afterwards the first core entry, FFXIII, and finally could not finish FFXV. I'm sure he has good ideas, but he just cannot put them in games the proper way. He had his shot, and he essentially shot down the highest profile JRPG franchise in history.
Originally DQXI was released in July in 2017. I think Nier could be very well compared to a traditional JRPG. Just as much as Tales series are traditional JRPGs, so are Nier and Drakengard games.
They should keep the gameplay system intact including materia, battles etc. and just add to it. The development would be much faster if they don't make it an ARPG, and they could just simply recreate the coolest 2D backgrounds ever in the world and add perfect 3D models in it. It's not that hard. Like Baten Kaitos, but 4K and with superb 3D models and add 3D elements here and there to make it alive. No need to zoom in and out in 3D in the overworld, the battles are for that!
It was good, but I thought Nier was better. I bought the Japanese version last year, so I put them in the same year. This year's best JRPG for me... I dunno... haven't played anything good released this year from the JRPG side. Probably my wife's favourite will win: Dragon Quest Builders 2 :)

It's really good, but I just don't want to kill so many innocent people as part of the missions. I feel like a psychokiller who just kills and then suddenly saves people the next turn in the game. I do love the game and the story, just some of these strange psychological inconsistencies that hit me pretty hard at times. Like wiping out a town to advance the story...

This game needs the Shenmue kind of mindset. Many things are similar to it.

The TV is good! Could have had better backlights, like with the 2018 models, but can't really see the flaws when there's something displayed (unlike dark loading screens with something in the corner) Bought it late 2016, will last until 2026. Planning to have it in our bedroom from 2022 - 2026. From 2022 a 8K projector from Optoma would take over the living room in our new place which we are saving for now!
Alright! I'm probably wrong then. I'd take HDTV's word over mine. I'm not the color specialist I think I am, ha! I did like HDR in The Witness (the game was crap, though) and Horizon Zero Dawn. Maybe I'll try RDR2 without HDR next...
He is right. Most adults' portable device is their work-related laptop and work-related phone. They do excels, powerpoints, emails and create or edit stuff with them. They don't have time to have another gadget on top of these two to start watching movies, play games or something. I carry a 3DS with me to business trips, but very seldom get the chance to play it. I just carry it with me, with three games, which I play maybe 5 minutes at best, when I'm not swamped.
I thought the green color and all areas when its dark were exceptional. I just had to turn up the brightness to 500 with my Samsung KS9000 to get the effect out of it. But with that TV its the same thing with every HDR game on Pro.
Diablo 2 is still better than this ever was. Just bought it after playing Diablo 3 with the DLC and telling myself it is a good game. It's not.
Young family here as well, working my ass off in the biz world. Horizon, BOTW and God of War I could easily complete. I have a feeling RDR2 main story will be the same. The Witcher 3 main story I could complete, but the DLC, which is supposed to be some of the best content, is another story. I'm too tired after work to play too much of anything, just watch the stock market go up and down to relax and spend time with the family. On weekends I game and do sports!
DLSS makes a difference so once you’ve got it patched in 4K60fps without ray tracing is absolutely possible. Also, you can just lower shadows or other costly effects to high to reach that 60fps mark. You can barely notice the difference anyway. I’d go for High + some key ultra settings to reach 4K60fps, and with DLSS ultra full-on.

I’m still trying to finish Persona 5, and bought a handful of 3DS modern classics like Fire Emblem Awakening and If, and Megaten IV Final and Strange Journey Redux. God of War was good, and Prey was decent, too. Now I’m playing Dragon Quest VI remake on DS and Diablo 2 LOD on PC. Need to finish Tropical Freeze, too. God, it never ends, does it. And I’ve got a family and busy job!
Diablo 2 is so much better than Diablo 3. Any PC can run it, too. Just saying!

Oh you are right I was mixing him up with Toriyama. Nevertheless, FFXV was horrible. Type-0 was only partly good because Nomura touched it earlier. Crisis Core was just above mediocre, too.
