Did they get a special award mentioning their HDR implementation as well?
This game is good! So far around 6hrs in. Can’t wait to finish up work early to venture further.
The system still hasn’t opened up fully, but I can already say it’s closer to Zelda in being an RPG compared to Dark Souls. However, the gameplay has opened up physically and dimensionally which replaces the stats and selection of weapons etc. Also, a lot of exploration, more open than DS3 (which was kind of a straight forward stint. Sekiro has also quite the Tenchu vibe with s...
Unfortunately this won't happen ever again. Streaming services will be too strong in the next 5-10 years, so nobody wants to buy a box for home. Just like when we used to have VHS, DVD-players and then Youtube and Netflix came along, nobody is buying those boxes anymore. You can stream 4K video (not real UHD quality, but it will get there) for months with the price of a UHD player. Same unfortunately will happen to gaming.
I just wanted gaming to stay traditional. It...
I absolutely agree with you. The older RPGs might not look as great, but they had more often an interesting setting and world where you could truly have an adventure. The Icon thing ruined it for me. I enjoy older games more than ever nowadays. Maybe I'll try Divinity Original Sin series... I also missed Dragon's Dogma, heard good things about that.
Fix the HDR !!
Even if it is the end, they will go out with a big bang!
I'm not going to watch this! I'm just reading the comments. Gets me hyped up! Pre-loaded the game and mini soundtrack with some art work accompanied. Got the HK version with Japanese voices and English text, it was around 42€ (45$.) Luckily it will be Thursday evening for me to play this, as I live far west from HK on a different time zone :)
I’m quite sure there are shades between black and white. Finding them and making them interesting is what makes art, including gaming, interesting. I’m sure you can do a lot more in a world than shooting people in the face and petting ponies.
How about shot people getting wounded and going back to a city alerting guards and making your life infinitely tough after? How about creating your own faction and managing it? How about having an option for diplomacy and talking your...
@jagermaster619 - I’m almost 40 and have been playing games since the 80s, around 35 years. Not interested in Fortnite.
@Yodacracker - You are right, I could go hunting and just look at the scenery. However, If I want to unlock everything, experience the story (which is pretty good, except for the unrealistic killing and other elements) and clear the game, I can’t go on without killing people and am actually encouraged to do so. I like Deus Ex games, Prey and Dishonored muc...
Yeah the game is authentic, but you just happen to murder around 500+ people in the game. If you look at the worst people in the history of Wild West, I think the most someone killed was around 50, and that person was hated and killed gruesomely very fast. But nooo, we got a rambo of the western in 2018 in games getting full scores. Really want my money back from R*, tired of these murder simulators without any choice to play the game without killing anyone.
Going to buy DMCV at one point, liked the first the most, though. Third was an ok game, but I played the first through thrice, compared to 3 and 4 which I just played once.
I’d rather them use AI for things like DLSS to upscale PS1/PS2/PS3/PS4 games to 4K resolution and even sharpen the sound. All process automation for the quality of life improvements are welcome, just let me choose myself, though.
I’ve been thinking about it, but heard that it is also mediocre. I didn’t like Bravely Default either. Been lately playing again Xenogears, Chrono Cross and Final Fantasy Tactics, and none of the new games don’t even come close. I did enjoy Saga Frontier 1-2. Would you say I should still try Octopath Traveler?
How does it compare to say, FFIV or Chrono Trigger?
Yeah, first step like PSP in 2004, PS Vita in 2011, and Sony Experia Remote Play a few years ago. They've already had a desktop app for laptops out a long time. Vita Remote Play worked over a good 4G LTE network almost a decade ago better than what iPhones can do now.
So these news are barely news at all. Just an app for iPhones that has been out for other mobile devices a long time ago.
I thought the graphics looked very personable and great! I wasn't expecting a full-fledged Shenmue game that would be near comparable to today's standards of games. I think we should respect Yu Suzuki's work here with the small team and budget, and a huge task at hand. Absolutely pumped up for this, and I'm not here for the "story", the series was always about the Experience. If I want only a story without graphics, I'll read a good book.
Yeah I'd probably get a HDR projector in 2020 with that money, or 75" OLED. Although, that monitor would probably be incredibly good for normal HTPC use as well as gaming. I have the cash, but I'm not going to invest in that thing. Not even when it would only cost me 1% of my cash base. Maybe when it would be 0.1%, sure.
They should have just made Front Mission 6, a true sequel to the fifth.
Same here, my wife mostly played through Dragon Quest Builders II on her MacBook Pro. Worked surprisingly well when the PS4 Pro is not too far away. Even 60fps and no input lag (dualshock was connected to PS4P directly.) Just some minor hiccups, but nothing serious.
I'd love to have all my PSN games playable from PSX to PS4 on PS5. That would really make me want to pre-order the console as soon as they become available. I'd want ONE machine to run all of my PSN purchases in 4K upscaled with good emulation and enhancements. That would be a huge huge factor for me.
