Why would politics be kept away from gaming? They are part of sports, movies, books and music, and many games already have political messages. Even the CEO of Ubisoft just recently said so himself. I say games should have thought-provoking interactive, but entertaining ways of bringing up issues, such as inequality, which can then be reflected to the real-world. Games even could directly be political as long as there is a free way to express the art instead of being, for example, a specific g...

Fair enough! I just don't want to

1) use time to switching discs from one box to another as I'm busy
2) support hard plastic, which harms the nature the most
3) go to the store to buy something, again, time is of the essence
4) take care of the discs
5) reserve space for plastic boxes
6) have a physical drive that is both noisy and takes space inside the box that is running the games an...

Nobody in Japan knows what the X is. They have 20 million potential home console buyers. On top of that, they have game developers who sell games globally in both single and double digit millions. This is a huge problem for the brand.

Plus, Sony and Nintendo are well-known in the Chinese markets where 100M potential buyers reside within the next five years. Xbox branding is for the US and Europe, and that's why it is not selling. They should rebrand their consoles entir...

I enjoyed the original midi soundtrack with my wife. I played the PS4 Pro version, and she finished the 3DS version, pretty much at the same time last summer. The game is good, particularly in the story and length, and the system is not bad either. It is a very classic Dragon Quest game, much more than say DQIX or DQVIII. Don't expect a game with all the bells and whistles, because you will be getting a very traditional game. However, it is a high 8 or low 9, but doesn't have the same...

I would start finally using PS Now then. I’d immediately get a good 3 months of the Japanese one to play some of the classics I’ve missed.

So there's going to be upgrades, but there is no stat system. Sounds like a streamlined Bloodborne set in a ninja world where things get vertical. Aesthetics look very cool, but I'm afraid this might be too shallow. Hence the fast development time. However, they did mention there is another system for leveling up and they are not revealing it yet. Maybe it is something new and cool, like Demon's Souls was back in the day?

I like the idea that this is similar to ...

They might as well for the hearing impaired and also for some of the names of the places (how they are pronounced) and some of the older words which were used during late Sengoku period. Sometimes they also sub the items, or at least add a furigana to know what they are. Japanese can be tricky for Japanese :)

Sony won with best games and attitude, but Microsoft was a close second with new, but too small, game studios. I suspect Nintendo will win the whole conference, or perhaps be a good second.

Actually, it is the opposite. The speed of technological advancements in both CPUs and GPUs has slowed down significantly since 2012 or so. This would enable hardware manufactures to enter longer cycles, just as with PS3 and PS4. They can also release Pro and X type of incremental updates which use the same ecosystem to earn higher profits and cut costs.

That being said, I do believe that streaming, VR/AR and GaaS will become finally relevant with 5G. However, the internet...

You are absolutely right. Keep writing from the business perspective! Need to get rid of the disinformation and other fan bullcrap and childish opinions. I'm with you man!

Yes, exactly this! I would never let my children play something like this, or would ever touch this kind of garbage. Who would want to watch a comedy or read a parody about killing children, or anyone for that matter? There's a line for everything, and there is one for video games, too. If someone wants everything to be entirely free, you can read great examples of how anarchy never worked in the history of mankind. Nor should it be promoted in any media or entertainment, including video ...

You are absolutely right! I'm already having trouble with my 65" viewing distance, and would like to have a 75", but not too many furniture manufactures even support that kind of TVs. If you go 75" or over you really need to modify your whole living room and the furniture around the TV and that is just not going to go well with design-oriented counterparts in families. Can't even see text that well in most games...

I think 75&...

I think you are being fairly optimistic if you think PS5 could ever do 8K. Perhaps PS5 Pro in 2024 - 2025 could with checkerboard, but you just can't buy technology like that with $400 - $500 in 2021. The leader of the GPU markets, Nvidia, waited for more than two years to substantially upgrade their GPU line up, and from the looks of it it won't be a huge upgrade. PS5 will have at best something like a GTX 1160 or 1250 which would suggest it can barely do ...

Yeah I realize the rumors suggest Sony are working with Ryzen CPUs and Navi GPUs as the 5nm / 7nm in my post would suggest. GTX1180 is rumored to be 12nm ffn (which is the chip manufactures' own strange adaptation of 16nm technology). I was talking about buying a PC now basing it on GTX 1180 instead of playing only on PS4 Pro for the next 3 years with my 4K TV. But maybe I'll stick to the Pro, as I can't really find multiplats on PC that are must have. Plus, PS5 will most likely h...

Sounds like early 2021 to me for PS5, which would make sense as 5nm to 7nm GPUs would be around $150 and could do native 4K. His comments kind of pushes me towards an HTPC and GTX1180. That would be a full-on 4K GPU where all games would run natively 30-60fps with minor tuning for the next 3 years. They want that level of performance for the next Playstation, and it won't be cheap until 2021. I just don't know what multiplat / PC exclusives would I buy... I can't see anything inte...

5G compatible Vita 2 streaming device, which could play PS5's 4K games at 720p, and those games would be downloadable from the base version to have them on the go, would be doable in 2021.
