Another very weird article.
Nintendo is a great company by almost all possible normal measures. The biggest one being: their own staff is happy, and they seem to be very happy, well compensated and retain rate is solid. They are also financially very stable, profitable, and cash rich, so shareholders love them.
Overall it is an extremely creative group of people, and their mission statement is fantastic as well "to put smiles on the faces of everyone...
You should also think about the environmental side to the physical products. It's typically the worst kind of hard plastic that ends up in dumps and therefore later in the sea or burnt in a way that it releases toxic chemicals. Plus the energy to produce, package and ship it around the world. This all affects the environment. But perhaps you don't care and think everyone who thinks like that is a hippie, because you want the physical product.
Before you start, no I ...
You are correct.
If I create a piece of art, I am in control of how I want to distribute it, if at all.
Such an entitled and self-centered article.
Amazing news! I literally yelled Yes this morning when I saw this trailer! This will be such a joy to play. And an amazing 4K120 vrr + rt experience.
The only tonic to Elden Ring is more Elden Ring.
Probably, because there are tens of thousands of Nintendo games made since 1975, and Tears of the Kingdom is the one that outsold all of them. Switch alone has nearly 5000 titles. Being the one and only is not a feat easily done.
I have a family and we share TVs and stuff. Everyone in the household mostly plays handhelds at home, not on train, on airplane or whatever, but at home. This is a great device to access PS5 library in a cheap way with a very sharp screen while others are using the TVs. I'm the target audience and think this is better than 3x the price handheld.
A superb game!
The problem with Xbox brand is that it does not have any identity, there's zero innovation in hardware, and the software has mostly been subpar and less in quantity. It's not harder than that.
While I agree it will take time for Nintendo to get up to speed to have their games graphically at around PS4 standards with their next console, I do also wonder which is harder: Making a game like TotK with a robust physics engine running on Switch or leveling up in general the graphics to a whole new level.
I'd say they are about the same in terms of difficulty. I also think that Nintendo is holding back with some of the higher res assets already at this stage.
Still not fully fixed, will wait for around 2-3 patches to arrive before I buy. Should be heavily discounted by then.
I'd love to see Dragon Quest, Nier, and Spellbound. And of course the eventual Bloodborne Remake from Bluepoint. And finally, plenty of PC ports, including Ghost of Tsushima, Demon's Souls, Forbidden West, The Last of Us Part 2, and Ratchet and Clank.
Oh, that's From Software's Spellbound for sure!!!
That is absolutely phenomenal. Well deserved as well. This will bode well for the franchise, as with BotW and TotK Zelda has become a juggernaut in the industry. I love the fact that such a serene and chill experience is selling so well. Just sit back and enjoy the game after work, almost like the perfect therapy after a busy day.

To me that just reads: "Edge likes good, well-designed, and innovative games."
Commenting on my own thread here: pretty much a locked 120fps on the setup, but the traversal and other stutters are still very real. Looks amazing at DLSS Quality 4K 120fps everything maxed out, including RT. The game itself also seems to be quite interesting. Maybe I can look past the stutters and this is worth the 20% discounted price hmm... Certainly steam game trial has been a success this time!
I wonder if I can get this running upscaled to 4K at 120fps on a 5800X3D and 4090. It seems there are still pretty bad CPU bottlenecks and the FPS simply drops under 90fps in many scenes, plus traversal stutters persist. I think the 90minute demo is a great way to test it out before buying! I do suspect the price will drop further, and if they put in a solid patch or two, this might be worth it at 30% discount.
Indeed. They are people with families and they hop on a bus, car or train everyday just like the most of us and go to work.
They sit at a desk, they have bosses, they report to them, they work as per they are asked to work, and they go home. Imagine doing your normal routines and having death threats or weirdos send you messages that are harrassment or just simply very evil and mean spirited on top of all the effort you put in. Every, single, day.

Well, we did get a lot of very good smaller Zelda titles, such as A Link Between Worlds. I think that was one of my favourite title in the series, along with the Link's Awakening Switch remake. I'm sure we will continue to have those on the side, and they can also be a good creative testing grounds for the larger titles. The idea for the ability to go through ground vertically most likely came from A Link Between World's wall paper type ability.

Those are very fair points and I fully understand what you are saying. I do, however, personally think that there is too much plastic in the world, and as recent studies have shown, this is the reason humans have increased amounts of microplastic in their blood circulation (including infants when they are born!) I think the only solution is to 100% recycle (which is not realistic) or simply cease new plastic production (which is not realistic either), so the on...
