Spoiling the "masterstroke" in a headline within days of the game releasing. What a prick.

I prefer the Xbox One controllers, but it is pretty crazy to say DS4 is "the same thing without improvements". The difference between DS3 to DS4 is night and day. DS4 is a far better controller.

Kwietstorm kinda proving exactly what rdgneoz3 is saying with that. Indie may literally just mean independent, but people associate the term with "smaller studios with less money", which doesn't really apply.

These games come from one very well established studio, and one new studio led by a hugely successful and respected industry figurehead. They're not exactly struggling to fund and publish games...

Would you expect to see someone lik...

Yup Access is proving great value. Roll on Mass Effect Andromeda :)

Imo the "home console" should act as a basic licensing server on the LAN, so other consoles in the same house can access the same library of games. I would expect some limitations to be in place to limit the extent that people can exploit it with VPNs and such. 5 concurrent users, or 10 console licenses, something like that would adequately protect against that.

Sharing entertainment media across a family is totally normal and reasonable, and digital content shou...

Yup, sharing across a family with 3 or more gamers is a right pain. I'd love to see Microsoft and Sony address family sharing properly.

Yup I've been waiting on AMD to offer me a viable upgrade from R9-295-x2 for ages. My 4k freesync monitor and oculus rift will both be satisfied with a vega or 2 :)

$499 card. The baseline Vega 64 was used for the benches, not the liquid cooled or limited edition ones.

Trading blows with the 1080 at a slightly better price (or much better price if you go for one of the bundles and/or freesync monitor) isn't actually a bad place for AMD to be at all. The cut down Vega 56 looks to be in a good place as well.

@aenea yes those features should be free. Valve do it free, EA do it free, hell even Ubisoft offer those features for free. And Microsoft!

Console gamers get the shitty end of the stick in this respect. You don't need to pretend it feels good.

Rich when actually you clearly haven't done your research. Those 120hz TVs won't accept a 120hz signal.

There were a tiny tiny number of TVs that you could botch 1080p120 on, but it's not part of the HDMI standard and would be stupid to target or support on a console.

I'm sure they held their quarterly financial conference call as damage control, and not because... you know... "quarterly financial conference call".

That's competition it makes is what.

"in line with their retail counterparts" is the problem though. The costs and logistics are simply not in-line with their retail counterparts, so the prices shouldn't be either.

Unfortunately we're stuck with it, as Sony need to keep retail partners sweet in order to retain that highstreet presence and push the hardware in the first place.

Comparing against their direct rivals is on topic. Like, it isn't even close to the edge of the topic, it is very safe territory.

Sony are doing well on sales at the moment. The big 3rd party publishers pretty much match up with XBox as you'd expect, but Sony have a wider breadth of titles and they discount much more frequently, plus the deals area of their store is simply more prominent. There seems to be a "good" sale on more often than not, whereas the...

I think it's relatively recent for the EU store. We used to look at the US sales with envy, but the EU sales are almost as good now.
