Even if someone has a 4k TV that isn't ideal for gaming, the Xbox one x will still look better on it than the base Xbox. It's not like a bad 4k TV be better with a 1080p console.
I have 2 great gaming PCs that exceed the specs of the new Xbox, one at a desk and one on my TV. I'm an enthusiast, and I will not be buying the Xbox one x.
However, if i only had one gaming PC then I'd be all over the X. Many games are simply better suited to the home theater environment.
It seems pretty far fetched to think nobody with a PC would have any interest in the Xbox one x (let alone all the people that don't have a gaming PC at all...
As publishers go, I like EA. They make mostly high quality games, that are some of the most technically accomplished titles available on all platforms. Their multiplayer games offer dedicated servers. EA Access is fantastic value so you don't even need to buy their games, but if you are so inclined then you'll find the prices (RRP and sale) come down like no other publisher besides possibly Sony.
They've shut down some good studios and run a few big IPs into th...
@Moldy I don't disagree, I just said PC2 it is "higher on my list". If not for the VR aspect, it'd be the other way round.
I haven't got PSVR, but based on my experience with Rift and touch I really couldn't disagree with you more. Good representation of your hands massively enhances VR.
You have a Rift too right? Forza 7 may well be the most polished racing game about, but imo you can't beat VR for racing games so Project Cars 2 is higher on my list.
Sure, but the Xbox division have carefully avoided the word "cloud" for a few years now. Whenever they mention it a certain contingent derive the letters "D" "R" and "M", and those letters cause mass hysteria.
Judging by some of the comments above, they may need to avoid it for a while longer.
But in a game that requires you to be online, AI could and should be run server side. That's the crux of the problem here.
You should see him with a knife and fork 😂
A decent framerate, and options to disable crap like motion blur? Yup, I can wait the extra month and a half for that.
Particularly when you consider the fact that loads of people viewing the comparison will be doing so on a 1080p screen or a mobile, so that resolution won't even be apparent. Things would worse for the PS4 if they ran the comparison at 4k, but you could argue that it would be more fair.
Yeeeeeah maybe, but if their FFXIII ports are anything to go by then it might still have 480p CGI scenes, or totally broken 7.1 surround. I'll wait for some Steam reviews and discussion before doing anything rash like buying it.
You seem to be completely ignoring the findings in the article. Did you read it?
The testing (and my comment) support that the servers and infrastructure have the potential to deliver good download speeds.
Pretty shoddy implementation, but at least this might stop the "Sony should spend some of that ps plus money on PSN" talk. Good work investigator chap!
@fitgamer it is a free update for anyone that already owns the game
Eh? Loads of phone software works between iOS and Android. WhatsApp even lets the guy with the Windows phone get involved!
@uptownsoul you've seriously never heard people talking about a popular game like COD or FIFA, and discovering they can't play together because they have the games on different platforms?
Just because people don't see or talk about the solution much, doesn't mean NOBODY WANTS a solution.
It is supported system wide for home theatre too, but it still needs devs use object-based sound and height channels.
It was actually GoW3 in my head, but now that you mention it... I'll add that to the list of reasons I hope Kratos' kid comes to a tragic end early in the game!
But those 3 defined issues can all be attributed to PSVR, not VR as a whole.
Movement is wrong -> Ps move controllers lack an analogue stick
Graphics are set to garbage -> it's running on a ps4 (Pro probably, which makes you wonder what is below garbage for the base console)
1 enemy at a time -> PSVR is strictly front facing, and the base hardware will struggle too.
These are not flaws inherent in VR, the...
