I refuse to believe the man behind Senran Kagura doesn't understand girls. The characters in his games act just like all the girls I know.
There are pros and cons to the UWP approach. I'm sure there are plenty of people that want applications they buy to just work, with the same simplicity they're accustomed to from their phone or console.
Being able to mod games, hook in things like sweet FX or Tridef, or just get beneath the surface of the file structure to edit some config files may be something we appreciate about PC gaming, but let's not pretend we are representative of everyone that might use...
They also have something of a responsibility to utilise the new features and platforms that they are trying to establish so that they can iron out the teething problems, so that 3rd parties can feel confident using them. Most of the problems with Microsoft's games revolve around the nature of UWP applications, and to a lesser extent DirectX 12.
As you say, I've not personally suffered any major problems. Fringe issues like slow/no support for mGPU and initially some...
Ahem. It's Clifford now.
He's been outspoken about disliking big budget cinematic games for ages. He didn't like the direction the gears games took in that regard, even while he was responsible for them. I don't see much evidence in his work to suggest he is a massive fan of Japanese games either.
I know it can be shocking, but not everyone likes the same games you do.
@Rainslacker I am hoping that Sony are waiting until such a time as they can offer cross-play properly, with the social features gamers have apparently come to take for granted. Friends lists, parties, and chat at the very least.
At the moment the Rocket League devs are building their own cross-platform party system which is great, but having devs re-build these features on a per-game basis defeats a lot of what is good about the console experience.
If So...
Whomever disagrees, please show me how the existence of GOG supports the fact that people pirating games leads to increased sales of said games (not that games can still sell in spite of piracy, as that was never under dispute).
I won't hold my breath.
@Emperor point all you like, but that provides no evidence what-so-ever to support your argument.
The refund policies on most digital stores nowadays blows your excuse out of the water.
"Now whatever that means is up to you how you reference it, but it sure is hilarious. "
Ah... That guy that clearly doesn't get the jokes, but laughs anyway to fit in.
Confirmed, Foxtrot is Septic and Gangsta Red.
Is there anyone else here besides me and that guy?
The report seems to be based on surveys of people that pirate, and we all know people that pirate games spin this yarn that they buy the good games pirating them. It is like asking a class of pre-school boys if boys are better than girls, and then declaring "study shows boys are better than girls!" based on them saying so.
Besides which, we all know the counter to piracy is micro-transactions and DLC, so either way piracy isn't a good thing.
And that's in a written comment, with ample opportunity to proof read and edit. Imagine what he's like to talk to in real life.
Xbox blowing his mind like a boiling ocean in a lake. Sense not required.
Halo 5 looked awful in places Imo, but not because the art. There is a beautiful game waiting to burst out with proper res, AA, and texture filtering. I'm quite looking forward to revisiting it to see it how 343 envisioned it.
Nice that they're doing it properly with upgrades to the textures and assets, rather than just changing the rendering res and calling it a day.
And he's right about the OLEDs. They're just marvelous, even with ye olde standard range content.
Right, but no real people die in "suicide simulator" either.
What makes one worse than the other is that suicide simulator appears (on the surface at least) to target a very vulnerable group deliberately and exclusively, whereas GTA doesn't.
@Carmelo the Xbox hardware design was moved over to Panos Panay's team. They're responsible for the Surface range, so it is hard to dispute their credentials.
Having said that, making everything compact seems to be a top priority. A small form factor is not something I personally value very highly, I would rather they focus on making the hardware silent and reliable.
Speaking of system-level features, the recent addition of Windows Sonic and Dolby Atmos for Headphones deserves a lot more recognition that it receives. Anyone gaming with headphones should check those out.
In-race performance was good. I can't say I'd call it the best looking game ever though.
