You need to adjust the rules a little to allow YouTube reviews, and instead ban stuff from any sites with names that rhyme with "flamingbolt".
@Andrewsquall everybody that read the article knows where the numbers come from as they spell it out quite clearly. Re-read your own comment, what you actually said was that DF were being "controlled and manipulated".
Controlled and manipulated by whom exactly? They sourced a set of benchmarks from developers (Microsoft wouldn't actually provide the benchmarks to them, as stated in the article), and they conducted their own analysis on the limited info available.
You could complain that the information available isn't sufficient for them to publish an analysis, or that we can't draw any solid conclusions because the nature of the material or where they originate from. They...
Sorry to hear that mate. Maybe try some http://www.boots.com/senoca...
I'm not saying that resolution is more important than any other factor, or that 4k/Pro/Scorpio are worth the cost of entry.
I'm just refuting that "4k doesn't make games better", because that statement is illogical.
Yes it does.
4k won't make the story better, it won't fundamentally change the game play. However, it will irrefutably improve the visual quality, which is a part of the whole package. The same game with better graphics is, in fact, better. Tbh it is hard to see your argument against it.
In the UK we have UHD options from Sky, BT, and Virgin. There isn't a tonne of content, but Sky has over a hundred films and live sport. No support for HDR, but the quality is otherwise OK.
Netflix and Amazon Prime both have 4k HDR streaming options, which are probably the most popular avenues for 4k content (along with youtube I guess). Unfortunately those look like a bag of arse by comparison to "good" 4k sources, and probably harm perception of 4k overall....
@Andrewsquall you'll need to offer some citation for that quote. The might of Google doesn't really return any results that validate what you are saying, but I have every faith that you are sincere.
This is actually pretty easy to achieve on the PC version. You can set the frame cap to 60 and enable dynamic super sampling, and smash these numbers. The Xbox One X is nice for a console, but it obviously isn't competing with high end PCs in raw performance terms.
The Xbox fans that have been "put to the ground" seem to be pretty upbeat about the situation. I'm sure they appreciate your relentless concern though!
I would have gone with "Call of Greed", but I think you still got your point across.
@Death the vast majority of console games sync to the refresh rate wherever possible. Even if your TV supports 120Hz refresh, no current console will even attempt to output more than 60hz over HDMI regardless of the internal frame rate. If your PC is set to output at 60Hz then the same applies, you're only seeing 60 refreshes regardless.
Hopefully that'll change with the advent of adaptive sync on TVs, but that depends on TV manufacturers so time will tell.
Why do you keep saying it "isn't as powerful as you think it is"? The hardware specification isn't a mystery. We all know how it stacks up against the competition.
@Tyasia you are right, Steam is not a Microsoft platform. Also, McDonalds isn't a Microsoft platform. And guess what? Microsoft aren't selling these XBox games there either.
Digital Foundry report that the Pro runs it at a fairly consistent 1440p, so it has meaning if you are looking to compare...
So the stated target was a resolution of 4k. Microsoft demonstrated that they can take Forza 6 and run it at native 4k, with only ~65% GPU usage. By your own definition we can say that is "overkill".
Blimey. I thought this article was hyperbolic nonsense, but if even NewMonday supports it then I guess it can't be wrong.
