A PC gamer has access to those same cross-gen games and buys the game once. They can run that game in settings equal to Xbox One S, and that same game will be compatible on hardware even more powerful than Series X & PS5 possibly with settings even those versions won't have.
Repurchasing at full price would be absurd for what they're used to. Console gamers should be treated to that kind of scalability, and there is zero excuse not to when the hardware is specif...
How do you rip off a game that was announced after you?
For those that won't read the article - Certain Affinity has been working with 343 since December. Just like how another studio a few weeks ago announced their partnership, which actually started last summer.
Spider-Man, Ratchet & Clank, Demon's Souls at launch, launch window, and not too long after - all with a 60fps mode. This is fantastic
And then they publicly announced rebooting development.
I like these trailers more than non-gameplay CGI. Games are made by people - seems like we kinda forget that
Why do they have to say it's not GaaS when they never announced it being GaaS in the first place? So many people ignore that Batman isn't even in the title, and that they've said it's not in the Arkham universe, and the character bio for Batgirl explains why she doesn't need a wheelchair, so why suddenly choose to start actually listening to the developers now?
Nor would/should someone expect a two-player game (at most) be a live service game. The reaction was from ridiculous triggered folk that think "anything co-op = everything bad".
It's even worse that this is only the second or third game coming to next-gen where they announce it with an actual genuine gameplay demo. Why would developers market their games with demos only to be harassed over people who make up controversy in their heads and condemn the games bas...
Hopefully we get a nice free upgrade patch on this one-month old title...
It was announced as a cross-gen title over two years ago. If the rumors are true and the X1S title has all these performance and other loading problems, this isn't a cross-gen issue but a fundamental one with the skill of the team.
Gears 5 should be the benchmark but if they can't even get AC Odyssey performance, that's on their quality as a team building an engine for an exclusive console set
To my understanding this is just regarding Apple not disabling Epic's developer account (and therefore Epic's official ability to update and maintain Unreal Engine for Apple platforms), not the Fortnite payment system that started this whole thing.
^ It's been said that this is not in the Arkhamverse.
And yet Suicide Squad is 🤷🏼♂️
From the first parties, we know that both are pushing new IP (Avowed, Everwild, Returnal). Both are accepting that established IPs need time before being rushed out (GT7, Forza), even when they demo well (R&C), and especially when they don't (Halo). And both want us to know our favorite franchises are coming back (Horizon, Fable).
The reasons for buying one may not apply to the other. And that's all fine because, even with Switch, they all offer unique experienc...
*Looks at Game Pass*
... Sure
$40 is a great deal because the game is great. But this publisher is awful.
They couldn't even say anything like "We are using an updated version of the engine that is incompatible with the existing release".
Although that would also be lying since the content is coming to the original release, but at least they'd be trying to come up with an excuse.
PS5 definitely at launch.
XSX by or before Halo Infinite - depends on launch price really. If Series S can play older games in at least One X mode quality then maybe that instead.
It's jarring in some games where the reflections totally don't match the scene. Or all the car windows have the same reflection texture.
Terrible but specific example - Rainbow Six 3 on OG Xbox, I think Airport 2 was the MP map. You're around a hangar. The cars in the map reflect the same non-existent mountain. Ubisoft games in general still kinda suffer from this
If Microsoft wants people to invest in new hardware there should be new experiences that take advantage of that hardware Day 1 from them.
That's what Halo Infinite was to be - their shining example of a game built for Series X then scaled down.
But it looked worse than Halo 5 on One X, at 12TF. With pop-in present, using their fast SSD. No RT at launch, despite telling us it's XSX-first.
What we're getting - games upscaled f...
Short term the PS5 will enjoy an even bigger lead than it would have.
Long term... well, waiting 5 years for Halo only to see it become the laughing stock of the industry is long term enough.
I tried looking for an article on this game, and IGN's announcement doesn't say that it's a part of Game Pass
