Sea of Thieves is going to only be 1080p60.
Now that reviews are out, and they note small hitches in these Xbox One enhanced titled, man. I don't get how they couldn't just bump up the GPU to 6TF to give us something that could actually hit 1440p, or at least run titles with One X enhancements.
I want to want the Series X, because it has my largest library of games especially on disc. But... I'm ok at launch. Nothing will feel different
And the PS4 is still being supported, with both Spider-Man and Sackboy. But unlike Xbox, DualSense exists. They're not just prettier, they'll feel different, new, and impressive.
You're calling out people in a gaming news website over monitor resolution support. That isn't something to really boast about...
The RAM Advantage the 3070 will never overcome, but can't we say the 3070 is future-proof in a completely different way - with DLSS & all that offers?
1nsomniac, that's a very bizarre and improper comparison.
More accurately: If you buy a Samsung Fridge, Samsung wants to sell you the food you put in it, from their own setup inside the store you bought the fridge from, and that store won't receive any cut of what you buy from Samsung Grocery.
Over the next few months (or year even), what really will be "next gen"?
4K 60fps in an open world with minimal load times and haptic support on DualSense seems reasonable enough. Spider-Man fits that criteria too. WD Legion is 4K 30 with RT in an open world; SM also has this mode. Ratchet is dynamic 4K 30 with RT in a linear world with teleporting between environments. Demon's Souls is 4K30 or 1440p60.
You're totally right.
But... If someone is paid to write, talk, and provide opinions about games professionally, for a gaming website that's been around for well over a decade, at the least peel off your factory warning stickers.
Kotaku really doesn't help themselves when it looks like all of them have a worse gaming setup than when I was a teenager.
An original PS4 and a VCR Xbox One that still has the sticker on it, really? Maybe he really did think putting the PS5 upside down was a good idea...
In the article, as others who have read it point out, the author mentions his cats. And it's also a test to see just how it'll perform in this improper configuration.
@solid - they are adding story DLC to the game too
I've been using it in bed before sleep the last two nights.
It's the least-reliable remote play between Steam, PS4, and this. Odd audio popping/crackling that is irritating and unavoidable. Somehow my controller was extremely sensitive and I couldn't move the dpad even just one space, it would move 2-3 buttons every tap. My Xbox is plugged in through Ethernet and my iPad is on 5G WiFi, there shouldn't be these odd connection issues
And for...
The official product page on the PlayStation website says dynamic 4K for Ratchet.
With them planning Seasons 3 & 4... Anyone think there will be a 2021 AC, or not another till 2022?
2010 called and wants its cynicism back.
AC has been a single-player GaaS game since Origins. Ubisoft has been pretty overtly transparent about that, even with the shipped games still having dozens upon dozens of hours of content in the base product.
I'm sure there are plenty of Xbox 360-era games that will run at 121+fps on an RTX 2060, so be prepared for a generation of disappointment if that's really gonna be your metric
(Any snark aside, I'm curious what the average will end up being on these Up-To games. Ratchet, Sackboy, and Astro all have dynamic resolution too. My 2070S runs Doom Eternal at a full 4K60fps with DRS off, and when it's on & still locked to 60, the res will scale by half in some ...
Everyone before 2019?
I guess you'd have to ask those early adopters; Game Pass Ultimate didn't exist until June 2019, and the PC was on a half-price beta till just last month. But judging by MS' track record, yes - if they spent $10/month they're as fiscally savvy as any people who actually pay by the month on Gold or PS Plus
His call-out at the end about Crimsom Skies, oh yes I'd love that. Especially if the detail comes even close to the world in Flight Simulator.
@Jin
Yeah, that makes this that much more impressive. After the Xbox One was such a disaster, they still have enough mindshare to do better than ever.
But yeah, this is sooooo bad, boo Xbox...
