I think it is totally fair to ignore every single criticism because every single criticism to-date is a knee-jerk reaction to leaked bits and pieces of the most intense moments of the game with zero context to them. At least The Last Jedi and Game of Thrones were spoiled to you by people who had the full context of watching what they were spoiling.
The same day as the final limited edition Xbox One X? They will not release next-generation's most powerful hardware alongside this generation's third-party swan-song months before Halo is ready.
The hate isn't coming from Xbox fans; it's coming from the same people that sew discord by suggesting everything's an "agenda". Were PS fans ganging up when Gears 5 switched us to Kait?
Even just a hint or anything of RE8 in PS5VR, yesss
Lol, do you think game developers are being pulled away from their workstations to design a shirt?
We don't have Switch games in the fall because Nintendo partnered with Levi's.
The green shirt is cool - the green sticks out so as a runner where roads can get busy, I like that
Because such and so years ago, MS cancelled some games that these people wouldn't have played anyway. Leaving MS with just "Halo, Gears, and Forza"...
But then Halo goes dormant as they rebuild the franchise. And then Forza Motorsport takes a year off. Gears branches into a new genre, but is PC only at launch.
And their new IP service titles floundered at launch.
If MS had games pumping out, they wouldn't have had to improve the...
Everything bad to people that hate Xbox today are things pretty universally good for gaming as a whole.
They take more pride in their box than the games they play on it.
@Sako
Name one thing bad as a consumer about their games being available on PC.
Canned every AAA game and game pass will lead to worse games? Ok so explain how Gears Tactics exists. Why isn't Halo Infinite cancelled and why is MCC still getting updates/brought to PC? Why is Hellblade 2 their second-announced XSX title? Maybe Scalebound really did suck and just maybe, an asymmetric Fable multiplayer game was a terrible idea from the start!

What the... The only mention of anything Xbox here is coming from you...
Detroit was mechanically great, regardless of opinion on story. With Sony support officially behind them, they'd have those resources to improve their management
@Foxtrot
The last paragraph about the little details is why BotW is my favorite Zelda game. It's not about how "Zelda"-like it is, especially because there are no gameplay-mechanical similarities between something like Link to the Past and something like Skyward Sword. The overall experience for me matters way more than any specific thing (all of your subsets would fall into moments of Ocarina for me, but I still had more fun in Wind Waker).

There is a huge gulf in quality between Infamous Second Son and Spider-Man. City size, scope, density of NPCs. The quality of Reflections especially.
It's still a fantastic game, relative to when it came out. But Spider-Man 4 years after Infamous SS really showed just how far a game in that style could really go on PS4.
I would hope in 2024, we have games so stunning then that launch titles would be weak in comparison.
Halo had a solid campaign but that was not its notoriety. It was and has always been the co-op, the split screen support, the pioneering they did in system link and Live support. 5 had the worst campaign but it is the first and will be the only primary Halo shooter without its staple local multiplayer.
Yeah - Thieves, Decay were awful at launch for their newer IPs. Gears 4 and 5 both launched in stable conditions but had microtransaction drama. Halo MCC was a generational disgrace and 5 had its own problems with transactions until they filled in the rest of the [free] content and updates.
Microsoft, for all the glam and glory of pioneering Xbox Live, doesn't have a *single* launch success story of any game this generation.
I think it's the framing of the presentation. This go-anywhere sense of exploration.
Breath of the Wild opened with a volcano smoke stack in the back right. This demo opened with a fire burning in the back right.
Breath of the Wild had so many empty spaces and bland AF textures. I wanted to show my spouse the first day how cool it is that Link could climb any mountain and go anywhere.
The reaction seeing that mountain: "What's wrong with the TV?"
They tried with a couple JRPGs in the 360 era... They let Fable fade away. Rare's bucket of IPs is still being wasted. Sunset Overdrive was great but no one bought it...
Halo, Gears, and Forza (despite their sameness) are at least consistent in their mechanics to still be fun. Halo Infinite better have a good story with the five years they've had to work on it.
State of Decay and Sea of Thieves are bad examples of new IP for them I think - they ev...
Agreed. And certain formulas of open world appeal to certain people.
I love Ubisoft's open worlds. Origins, Far Cry 5, and Odyssey (so far) grab me right away. Witcher 3 is fun but I just can't get hooked. Days Gone is my least favorite game of the gen, but there is no game that has such a good motorcycle and *that* hooked me to finishing it. Death Stranding might be my favorite game of the gen and it embellishes its fetch questing
You're not wrong, but this isnt a millennial thing, come on... millennials don't drink bottled water. It's bad for the environment. That's on the boomers who taught us that things are to be used and thrown away.
Which could be why youth see things like this as out-of-the-ordinary, "amazing" - their wasteful parents raised them on a culture of paper plates and 8oz Arrowheads, stuffing the kitchen drawers with the leftover plastic grocery bags.
Sooo why did the franchise survive Left Behind, literally a lesbian love flashback of even younger teenage girls?
Ohh right. It was well-told and tastefully done.
