Still not sure about how factual the " NPD recently revealed that the Xbox One was the highest selling console during that week with sales jumping 79%," is. Does NPD break down sales on a weekly basis? That said this is a BS article wherein the author tries to assert subjective opinion as fact and also ignores reality by stating "sales of their console (X1) is quickly catching up to their rivals in the market (USA) that really matters." The Rare Replay announcement was big...

@GribbleGrunger "So based on pure metrics and common sense, Microsoft walked away the biggest winner from the conference. Sales of their console is quickly catching up to their rivals in the market that really matters." Yeah, I read the article and laughed when I read those sentences. There is nothing 'pure' metrics or otherwise about this opinion piece - it's pure fanboy nonsense.

I too am a solo player gamer. I mostly like to play third person action games and RPGs. I won't buy a game unless it has a decent single player campaign.

How does MS know that the X1 was the best selling console for E3 week? Are these USA sales numbers or WW sales numbers? One more question, does NPD break down sales week by week? Basically what I'm looking for here is objective sales data rather than statements by MS's PR dept.

From the article: "The console race this time around is neck and neck." Lol. PSN is far from perfect but it seems to be getting more stable and Sony seems to be able to fix problems more quickly now than they did in the past.

@Foxtrot - "I'll buy it, get the U4 MP beta code then sell it. No way am I paying for this without Golden Abyss OR the U2 multiplayer." Your comment makes no sense. You have to buy something before you can sell it. Even if you sell the UC Trilogy for PS4 after playing the U4 MP you still bought it so - WTF?

@Pistols - "I'm just saying that TR is high enough on the list of "must-play games", that there is no point in waiting over 6 months to a year or more just IN CASE it comes to PS4 with no noticeable differences." There are many reasons for waiting to play a game especially these days. Let me list a few; 1: GOTY and definitive editions don't have as many bugs as the original releases; 2 - They are better optimized; 3 - They include previously released DLC for no ext...

"From various perspectives, Rise of the Tomb Raider ought to be the exclusive that at last pushed gamers to buy the Xbox One." The problem with this statement is that ROTTR is also releasing on the X360 so, I doubt that MS thought this game would cause lots of 7th generation console owners to upgrade to the X1 this Fall - Halo 5 will be the game to do that. However, the addition of ROTTR to the X1s Fall portfolio will make it a more attractive purchase for holiday shoppers.

The X1 may sell more in the USA and the UK if it offers better bundle deals like it did last year and the PS4 doesn't get a price cut. Halo 5 will undoubtedly move a lot of X1's but attractively priced PS4's bundled with games like Battlefront, COD, The Uncharted Collection and MGSV will also sell well.

@1nsomniac - "The difference is we all use many different online services everyday & not one single person can name one service that goes down as frequently as PSN!" I am that single person! Xfinity provides my internet service here in the San Francisco Bay Area and it goes down more often (usually in the evening when it's needed most) than PSN. I pay $90 per month for Xfinity so, $50/yr for PS+ or $60/yr for XBL ain't a big deal.

I can see the X1 getting close to PS4 sales, maybe even slightly surpassing it, in the US and UK markets but worldwide total lifetime sales - no. That said, it would be a pretty big win for the X1 to win major markets like the US and UK because a lot of software gets sold in those markets.

@Satyre - Last time I checked the fall holidays amount to about 3 months out of the year. Why does MS insist on making Xbox gamers wait until the end of the year to play its AAA exclusives? I'm not going to list the exclusive AAA games released for this year but I'm pretty sure that by they end of the year the Playstation exclusives (PS3,PS4) will outnumber the Xbox exclusives (X360, X1.)

I don't mind the inclusion of standard car models - it's a feature of GT that makes it differ from competing racing sims and gives it that RPG quality. Personally, I like to grind my way to the premium model cars and GT allows me to do that.

According to the status page it's back up in the US - https://status.playstation.... Didn't last too long and it was never down for me. Seems like PSN outages are getting shorter and less frequent and that Sony is improving its infrastructure.

@meche334 - maybe not but, funny thing is that I've noticed when PSN or XBL goes down and the fan boys come out and blast the 'other' console's online service that their favored console's service goes down soon after - it's called karma.

Working for me in San Francisco. Just checked PSN service status page for the US - https://status.playstation.... - and people are apparently still having problems with PSN. Personally, I have more problems with my Xfinity service than I do with PSN and XBL (I hate Xfinity but they practically have a monopoly for cable/internet services in the San Francisco Bay Area so I more or less have to subscribe to its services.) Xfini...

No, but it should help sell a few more X1s. BC is a great feature but, imo, it is more important to have it at the beginning of a console generation when a new console's game library is still thin. For example, I actually played more PS2 games on my original BC PS3 for the first year or so because my PS2 died and there weren't enough PS3 titles to keep me busy. After that, I didn't use the BC feature.

@medman - Yes, I wonder if anybody knows how many more X360's were sold because of the RROD problem. I guess it would be difficult to figure out since many units were repaired and sent back to the original owners. It would be an interesting stat to know though.

@AussieGamer1 Pretty sure that you're not going to get it on Xbox One because you don't have a PS4.
