“That said, I’ll definitely define winning on our own metric and I won’t let the press define what winning means or competition defining what winning means. I say – we’re delivering a great exclusive games for Xbox one customers.”
Not a fan of corporate speak of which Phil's comment is a prime example. How about using objective pure sales data to define what 'winning' means? Hey Phil, nobody gets to define what the word 'winning' means - we've got the dictiona...
Of course the X1 will have a major increase in sales over the 2015 holiday season - especially in the UK and USA. As per usual, MS is releasing the majority of its AAA titles at the end of year and these games will undoubtedly be included with a few heavily discounted bundles. The PS4 will also see a major increase in sales, perhaps not to the same extent as the X1, but Sony will still sell a lot of PS4s. Who knows, if Sony decides to be aggressive, cuts the price of the PS4 and creates bund...
It seems likely that FF V11 will be released at some point for the X1 otherwise Sony would have stated that they had a permanent console exclusive. Same reasoning goes for the release of ROTTR for Playstation after SE's timed exclusivity deal with MS expires - if the ROTTR deal was for permanent console exclusivity MS would have said so by now.
Umm, how is stating at E3 that FF V11 will come first to Playstation trying to play it off like it was exclusive to PS4? The fact that Sony used the word 'first' implies that the game will be available on other platforms at some point after its release on the PS4. Duh!
Sounds like a great feature however; I will wait to see how it actually works before I'm convinced that it will be a game changer for the X1.
I just hope that Sony hasn't delaying its first party games because they want they them to be compatible with Project Morpheus. Project Morpheus can't succeed unless it appeals to casual and hardcore gamers alike. So it has to be a good piece of tech and affordable. If the buy in price for Project Morpheus (and that includes the headset, camera and controller) exceeds, imo, $250, it will be a niche product for the hardcore only.
Yes, I've noticed the fps drops on the PS4 and yes, I'd appreciate it if they weren't there. That said, the fps drops don't seem to occur during combat and have had little effect on my enjoyment of the game. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the purchase of this game for PS4, X1 or PC to anyone who enjoys western open world rpgs. Imo, there will always be performance issues with this game on all platforms no matter how many patches it gets. My biggest gripe - the text is st...
Project Morpheus and VR headsets in general can only have long term success if they are affordable to the average consumer. If it provides a great experience, then I predict that a lot of people will want to buy in but will wait until the tech becomes affordable. That said, imo, if Sony retails their headset for more than $200.00, it will mostly appeal, in the short term, to the hard core tech heads.
No. Primarily game on my PS4 which I got at release but still use my PS3. There have been times when there isn't something I want to play on the PS4 that I've played more on the PS3. Still have a Wii and 360 but haven't touched either in over a year. Got a bit of a backlog on the 360 so I'm not ready to part with it yet.
@Wizzo - Well both the PS4 and the X1 are coming out with 1TB models and I think you'll see both retailing in the US for $400. So, imo, there will be a price drop at least for the PS4 500gb model and I'd be really surprised if MS didn't follow with a X1 500gb price drop. I predict that, at some point in the near future, that the 500gb models of both consoles will retail for $300 -the only question being which one will get there first. Also, recently announced new model info for t...
The article makes some good points. Developers have been releasing cross generation games simply because it's hard to ignore that the 160 million Xbox 360/PS3 install base is much larger than X1/PS4 install base which is probably still less than 40 million. I expect 3rd party Japanese developers will continue this practice for some time which will of course hurt sales of the PS4 in Japan. If Sony wants to push sales of the PS4 higher in Japan, then they will have to, at least for the nea...
A scifi/fantasy hybrid game with a time travel element would be great. Medieval, Stone Age, far future, near future, recent past, all ages (dinosaur age included) could be encompassed in one open world RPG. A decent Doctor Who game could do this but, as far as I know, there has yet to be a decent Doctor Who game.
Forza 6 and the Nathan Drake collection are not E3 like shots. Forza games are usually released on an annual basis, and pretty much everybody assumed that Sony would release an Uncharted collection. Fallout 4 is a little different - maybe Bethesda wanted to reveal it before E3 because it would get more press that way.
It will be interesting to see how Sony prices their recently announced 1TB PS4 model now that MS has revealed the $400 price point for their 1TB XB1. I think we'll see price drops on the 500 GB X1 and 500 GB PS4 and see a $400 TB PS4.
@BLKxSept "I cant believe how some of you are defending this crap! No MP!? Really!? And thats ok with you?" It's ok for me and for plenty of others who prefer to play SP focused games. Believe it or not some of us will replay a good SP game multiple times. Just to be clear, I'm not "defending this crap,"I'm just stating an opinion that apparently differs from most of the posts in this thread. I understand why people are disappointed about the lack of MP in thi...
It seems to me that the trend over the past decade has been to include MP even in franchises like Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank and Assassins Creed that started out as SP focused games. Not every game need have a MP mode just as not every game need have a SP mode.
Personally, I could care less about MP and am very happy that the developers are focusing on SP for this collection. For those of you who must have MP included in every game you purchase - you have plenty of options out there. For those of you who think it's a rip off that MP isn't being included in this collection - you're still getting 3 remastered single campaigns and access to the UC4 beta (which includes MP) for the price of one game. What's so bad about that? Lastly, i...
I'm concerned that Project Morpheus may be delaying the development of PS4 first party games. Imo, the Project Morpheus peripheral can't be successful unless it retails at less than $200. Don't see why Sony can't release their first party games then,at a later date, modify them for VR release.
@Romudeth Wow! The PS4 is by far the worldwide home console market leader. The X1 is quite competitive in the USA and UK markets but still behind the PS4. So, at least if you want to be logical, it would seem that Sony's competitors would have the most to prove this year at E3.
@Maybay "though Sony gets no flak for doing the same thing." But Sony is getting plenty of flack from the press and others for doing this.
