No the biggest problem was piracy. There was no incentive for third party developers to make games for the PSP after a year because the thing was more exposed thanks to hackers than a Star Fox boss' weak point.
I can only imagine what Vita games are going to look like this time next year. It's still hard to believe how good Golden Abyss looks. Not to mention the innovative ways game developers will hopefully be able to use the touchscreens.
Random thought, I hope Ratchet and Clank find their way to the Vita soon.

Nice, hopefully this becomes a regular occurrence with games that can be utilized like this between the Vita and PS3. The 79.99 price point was what I was hoping for with this "bundle". Unfortunately it looks like this is going to fall solely on the shoulders of retailers since Sony isn't taking the initiative.
I have both, my Vita has gotten more use but things may change once Dream Drop Distance (ya know in a few years) arrives in the US. I think the Vita and 3DS can coexist since they both offer drastically different experiences. Its not like a PS3/360 comparison where outside of exclusives, they are very similar. The problem for Sony is that the media at large doesn't realize that point and so if Sony doesn't sell more Vitas than Nintendo sells 3DS's, everyone will call the Vita a fa...
I wonder if these "journalists" use the same logic for their own lives.
(Video game "journalist" logic theater)
Journalist: Hey sweetie, instead of going out to that fancy restaurant you love, we're going to McDonalds
Girlfriend: What? Its our one year anniversary and you're going to take me to McDonalds?!?!?!
Journalist: Well, McDonalds serves billions daily and has menu items available at a doll...
Sony has clearly learned its lesson in terms of creating a platform that is "easy" for developers to work with, just look at the Vita.
Its funny that you would give MS the free pass for next gen as its clinging to its lead over the PS3 whereas Sony was dominating last generation and still managed to screw things up. Who is to say that MS doesn't have a few missteps with their next console like Sony?
Right now, the only advantage I see the next M...
Hopefully Sony and other companies bundle PS3/Vita versions together in order to make it more worthwhile. As much as I want to be able to play my Show or Madden franchise on the go, I'm not sure if I want to do it paying $59.99 plus another 39.99 or 49.99. A nice bundle at $79.99 would be nice.
It's still PSN!

"Since owners of Hustle Kings on PlayStation 3 and Vita can play against one another, if you purchase the game on one platform, you’ll get the other one free-of-charge--for now, anyway."
Easy guys, don't make your anti-Sony opinions that obvious. You buy one, you get the one on the other console for free, its that simple.
Are the losses that are being referred to here solely on the Playstation side of the Sony family tree? From what I understand nothing is going well for the company, TVs, tablets, mp3 players, phones. I'd say that the Playstation side of things are under no more crisis than the HDTV side. Kaz has a lot of work to do, but I think he has the right ideas to turn the company around.
Anything to get Stringer out of there. I saw him on CNBC a few weeks ago at work, and he just seems like he has no idea what is going on or what he is doing. Really helped illustrate why Sony has been directionless the past 10 years (talking about the company as a whole here of course).
Anytime Sony is mentioned on that channel they're treated as a joke, so Kaz has a heck of a job on his plate to not only win back consumers, but change the way the media handles the cover...
Make those moves Kaz
I'll never understand the comparisons to the gaming capabilities of iPhone or Android to the Vita. Is it so hard for the media at large to understand the difference between someone who downloads a 99 cent game on their phone versus someone who wants a console-esque rich experience on a handheld?
Hey listen, I have a bunch of games on my Droid phone, but they're only good for my 10 minute daily "break" in the little boys room. At the same time they have their...
Who cares, its a demo. MS has spent millions to try and bury the PS3 and yet, despite a year head start, positive media spin here in the US, the lower initial price point for the 360, writing checks to make previously third party PS exclusives go multi, timed demos, and literally half a billion dollars worth of advertising on a peripheral, the 360 is barely clinging to a "sales" advantage over the PS3.
Sony has barely tried with its lackluster advertising attempts...
By the by, does the guy who wrote this know anything about football? Vince Young made the cover of Madden his second year (in reference to what he says about Von), next season is the 2012 season (not the 2013-2014 season) and Cruz was a WR4 for the Giants behind Nicks, Manningham and Hixon coming out of camp.
As a Giants fan, give me Vick or Romo, or judging from this season, the entire Washington Redskins' roster.
I seriously can't wait for this thing. Can't wait to experience another Uncharted
As impressive as the PS2 sales are, I'd say the 1.6 million PSPs moved is even more so considering its a dead, failure of a worthless waste of time portable that no one wanted and it stunk and everyone hated it.
Do I need to add the sarcasm hashtag?
nice, hadnt seem that yet.
