Nintendo is going to have to prove that it is willing to go after the more hardcore gamer with solid third party support (maybe even a third party exclusive?) for the system and perhaps even a few new original first party games not involving Mario and company.
If Nintendo doesn't make it clear that it is going to try and appeal to people besides casuals, then its going to be a tough sell to PS3/360 owners to make the early dive for the WiiU instead of just waiting for th...
Sony can win E3 by wheeling game after game after game out there for the PS3 and Vita, lowing the PS3 to $199 and releasing some $249/$299 Vita bundles with Resistance/8GB Card and a Gravity Rush/8GB Card, plus maybe a Mini and a free movie rental from PSN.
Gotta give consumers a taste of everything the Vita can do, a great full game, decent amount of storage, a bite sized Mini and a movie.
Oh, plus announcing that PSone games will now be playable on Vita wou...
Reminds me of...
Cue this headline tomorrow:
"Sony's Attack on Game Developer Profits: Tretton encourages gamers to buy used games, will Sony end up killing off game studios?"
Sony's getting blamed for a deal that Amazon.com is offering?
Plus, I suppose throwing in a free copy of MK at launch would have been difficult, considering MK wasn't out yet.
@Hx3KinG If a retail store is giving out discounts on the Vita, that is their call. If Sony came out tomorrow and dropped the Vita to 150 bucks, then I suppose there would be a legitimate gripe if they didn't at least follow Nintendo's lead and give some sort of compensa...
Ah didn't notice it had to be UK only account. Here you go my UK buddies and or US buddy with a UK account, whoever gets it first gets it:

If it makes Sony look bad, its news.
(Ahem, coughing)
1) Sony has always been pretty abstract with its marketing, so if you turned on them this generation, you're just jumping on the bandwagon
2)I still don't think anyone understands what true 4-D is, but as far as future proof goes, godddamn if the PS3 isn't still pumping out incredible exclusives while their competitors are looking forward to tomorrow.
3)We're really complaining about USB ports?
They'd be stupid to do that considering the PlayStation brand and everything associated with it are the only reasons that Sony is relevant today. Who says, "hey let me go buy that new Vaio" or "let me go buy that new Walkman media player" these days.
@financialgamer its easy to sell millions and millions of copies of an exclusive game when you only get a precious one or two every year. Since the beginning of 2011 alone, off the top of my head PS3 exclusives like LBP2, Killzone 3, Infamous 2, Resistance 3, Motorstorm Apocalypse, MLB the Show 11/12, Twisted Metal, and Uncharted 3 have been released and I'm probably missing a few, in addition to some of the great exclusive PSN games in the store.
Now did I buy everyone...
Not a surprise considering what ND said about the feeling of dread they had when the 11.1.11 release date was revealed (for UC3). Suddenly they had a deadline and the pressure to get everything finished grew. I had expected this to be released March 2013, but now with the news that the new GoW is allegedly due out in Spring 2013, perhaps Sony will just let this game be the huge final swan song for PS3 for the 2013 holiday before they reveal the PS4 at E3 2014.
And as for that...
Very excited for the great games and different experiences coming to the Vita. Even old favorites like MLB The Show have been reinvigorated for me. For whatever reason, I just never fully got into The Show 11 as I had in past years. I only got about a month into a franchise and one season in my RTTS. It was a waste of 60 bucks. Compare that to this year where I'm almost two years into my RTTS career and already in Mid May in my franchise mode. Having the ability to continue both modes whe...
If he's gonna start going after sites for running with rumors and acting like its fact, he's gonna have a long list of sites to go after here on N4G.
So this guy, a video game journalist, didn't know the conditions surrounding this bundle in regards to acquiring the free game, but the rest of us did? When I was trying to figure out what to buy, the initial 3G bundle, this bundle or just going for the Wifi and buying a 32GB card instead, I did my homework and decided against this bundle because of this very fact.
I suppose this is the kind of guy who Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts had to guard against, thus steaming cups ...
You know what, Sony would be smart to cash in on the iOS pot of gold by throwing some crappy minigames based off their first party exclusives on the app store. Just more money for them to use on creating great games for us.
Uncharted GA alone is a compelling argument for the Vita against the "games" available on the App Store and the Play Market. Look, I love to play "Bubble Blast" on my Android phone, but it doesn't compare to having a game like Uncharted in my hands.
OK!
Looks like a lot of thought went into this one, hint at new system, announce new exclusive games, have a playable demo for Halo 4, price cut and finally LOUD NOISES AND BRIGHT COLORS.
I won't lie, there have been moments of weakness when I looked at an iPad and thought, "damn that looks so good". But then I sit myself down and think about it. I have a phone to browse the web and play what basically amounts to glorified mini games. Why do I need a huge version of a phone to do the same exact thing, plus the need to pay for more data?
When it comes to Vita versus my phone, I look at it as the Vita fulfilling a need that my phone doesn't wh...
That's awful. So basically MS' presser is going to go like this
Start with traditional COD demo, Mattrick comes out and announces that all COD DLC will be 360 timed exclusive. Halo 4 demo, Forza 4 demo, third party game demo, maybe they wheel out buddy Peter Moore to talk about Kinect integration in Madden 13 this year (say the name of the play you want to run!).
They'll rush through that since it involves, you know, games, in maybe about 25 minut...
