What nonsense journalism. One can use a battle.net account to play WoW.
I always use more time than what the devs say, and that's not even including the extras. I spent almost 200 hours until I beat Penance, and about the same until I beat Yiazmat. I know it can be done much faster, but I prefer taking my time and using GameFAQs as little as possible.
FF7 done quick is 7 hours and 41 minutes. Just btw :)

Allow me to explain:
Software causes hardware to run hotter by using the CPU and GPU. You can try this on your PC if you have some kind of motherboard monitor application installed. In windows the CPU and GPU load is pretty much idle. Then try running a game...
The more demanding the game is on the CPU and GPU the hotter they get.
Norway has never cared about the official price. It has been cheaper than 399€ for a long while now, and now it's more expensive than 299€. They'll get there eventually. Also, every shop has their own price. It's all about finding the one with the lowest :)
I wonder what the price of the Slim will be up here.
IE7 alone is not good enough imo, but with the IE7Pro addon it is indeed just fine.
Gun_Senshi,
Have you actually tried that? I've bought stuff from the US store with my Norwegian VISA. Everything is cheaper that way too :)
Yes,
that's what new games already cost here.
How is the endgame (raiding) like in Aion? I agree WoW it pretty average in most aspects, but there is no game even close when it comes to the raiding game. Raiding is what I like doing, and what I have been doing since 2 weeks after the release of the most recent expansion. I logon only for raids, and the gold the bosses drop are more than enough for the repairbill, gems, enchants, pots, etc. I don't understand the grindfest-whine, although I would 2 expansions ago.
It is in Europe (where it's called Platinum) and it has been for quite a while. I don't remember when, but at least since October 2008.

I skipped Vista, but going for 7 after it's been out a little while. Recently got an Intel i7 with 6GB ram, and XP can only use half of that so it's not really optimal anymore.
It might be "it" in the US, but it's certainly not "it" where I live. I hate it when articles speak as if the US was the entire world.
"How is this true you ask? Regression towards the mean. No matter how good a game is, the greater the number of reviews, the more variation in review scores (hence the lower averages on 360)."
blindfromthesun, you're contradicting yourself. More variation can't mean both closer to the average and a lower average.
A HDTV is not just for gaming, and this is also the first generation ever to benefit from a TV-upgrade. I say "benefit" because it's not required.
I've seen better WoW-shots than those in the article. Just took a few myself. The graphics aren't great, but I still feel those in the article didn't do the game justice.
