SE may be redeemed in the eyes of those who don't know the difference between developing and publishing. I'm not one of them.
Yup, but WoW is the king of PvE, especially the raiding game. Nothing else is even close.
I played it through twice. First taking my time (~20 hours, yes I'm very slow), and then going for Platinum trophy. Money well spent in my opinion.
Can you remind me what moves are hard in Tekken? I played Tekken for years, but I can't recall anything much harder than the f,qcf-type of moves, except of course with a few exceptions, but all games have those.
I actually think Soul Calibur has slightly harder moves overall with its many double-diagonal moves (the quick way to execute dialogal 8-way-run moves).
Btw, the hardest single move I know of is Ivy's just frame Calamity Symphony. I've never seen it used ...
It's already pretty bad in the US in my opinion. Not regarding violence, but regarding sex. Bloody massacres are ok, but boobs are not. Doesn't really make any sense.
Sure, but what has that do to with anything?
Star Ocean 3 was developed by Tri-Ace, so its quality was not in any way affected by the merge between Square and Enix. Therefore using it as a point of how "things began to decline" for Square Enix makes no sense, and only makes the writer of the article look stupid.
Star Ocean 3 was developed by Tri-Ace, not Square Enix. It's just sad when gaming journalists don't know the difference between developing and publishing.
Also, the game was great in my opinion.
I'm still playing this game on a almost daily basis. The online is incredible; hardly any latency at all vs most opponents. And if someone has a crappy connection, it's easy to tell by the latency-meter (which actually is very reliable in this game), so I can just cancel the battle before it starts.
Money spent on ads doesn't make a game better. Money spent on development does. And since I don't care about sales, but about the quality of the games I play, I prefer Sony's strategy.
I find it very strange that so many wants more ads. I sure as hell don't like ads, and I can't imagine why anyone would.
It will be fansubbed 110% guaranteed. And I'm certainly not going to watch some dub!
lol I don't think "third world country" is entirely accurate :)
Let me quote from wikipedia:
"Norway has a Scandinavian welfare model and the largest capital reserve per capita of any nation."
"Norway was ranked highest of all countries in human development from 2001 to 2006, and was ranked second as of 2008."
"It was also rated the most peaceful country in the world in a 2007 survey by Global Peace Index.&...
A cellphone game... I don't see how this is even remotely close to being a HUGE deal.
You won't be hooked for long, believe me. The depth in most of the Wii games is nonexistent.
Ldubbz, you couldn't be more wrong.
PS2 is still the most used console, by far.

I guess I'm just spoiled. For me, when it comes to FPSes and RTSes there's just no going from the mouse+keyboard control scheme to a controller :) All other genres are perfect for controllers.
(And for the last time; intuitive does not mean efficient)
Intuitive and inefficient are not mutually exclusive properties.
It's similar to first person shooters on consoles. It's obvious (ie. intuitive) how you are supposed to aim, but you still have nowhere near the control you would have with a mouse.
There is just no way anyone can win a tournament in Starcraft or Quake using a controller.
How are the controls? I've played Starcraft and Warcraft III for years, and I'm unable to imagine how it's supposed to work (efficiently) without a mouse :)
Same here in Norway. The market for used games has been long dead, and there is no renting games. I don't really mind though. I wouldn't rent or buy used even if I could. Money just isn't a big concern.
(Even renting movies is slowly dying, but that has more to do with piracy I guess.)
There is nothing realistic about FFXIII in the sense that no character or environment can be mistaken for being real in the way they look. This is a good thing in my opinion.
I prefer good art style over realistic graphics, but most importantly I prefer good gameplay.
It's not the only reason it's selling, but obviously it's one of the reasons. Especially because of the demographic. Nothing wrong about it. Marketing is partly about getting people to buy stuff they don't really want or need.
