I use regular for 1st person and inverted for 3rd person. Both axes.
The only thing which is true for me is the part about 'gratuitous violence'. My multiplayer game of choice is Soul Calibur IV.
Can't believe you got disagrees on this. A 3DTV isn't much of an upgrade over a regular HDTV.
There is absolutely no issue with it. The 3D glasses are designed to be used together with regular glasses. (Or not of course.)
Besides, wearing glasses doesn't even register on the discomfort scale. I've been doing it constantly for a good number of years now, so I should know.
I think you will have to wait a very long time for glassless TVs for the living room. Todays tech isn't even close to achieving that with any good 3D effect. There are some big obstacles in the way, which have to do with how humans are able to see in 3D at all. That is, when the left and right eye see different images. There is no getting around that, and if you think about it that's a pretty hard thing to get working without any headgear.
Now you're probably go...
As far as I know, they are all old and it's not possible anymore.
I would much rather have support for more than 30 fps again. (It did before)
If Sony didn't own them, we probably wouldn't have had Heavy Rain at all.
Todays tech is a very long way from doing glassless 3D in living room TVs. It has to do with viewing distance, not the size of the display though. Also, while the 3DS does indeed deliver 3D, it's very limited and looks worse compared to the 3D you get with active shutter glasses. You should test both and see for yourself. Infact, everyone should. I bet a lot of the hate 3D is getting right now will disappear when people actually see it for themselves.
"Technology keeps advancing, so sooner or later someone will perfect 3D without glasses."
You don't understand how 3D displays work at all do you? There are several laws of nature in the way of getting a flat screen to display perfect 3D without any kind of headgear. That's because "seeing in 3D" is really just an illusion in our mind. What we really see is two 2D images, one for each eye, and because these two images are slightly different the m...
Not much point in pirating an MMORPG.
ozstar, 3DTVs can do both depth in and popping out, and I bet the 3DS can too. There's no good technical reason why not. It's probably just up to the developer.
Many 3D glasses are designed to be used together with regular glasses. Sony's are.
Watching 3D with no glasses at a far distance is a very unimpressive experience, and will continue to be so for a very long time. The 3DS works decently since your eyes are so close to the screen, but it's still nowhere near as immersive as the 3D effect you get with active shutter glasses.
You should try the different technologies yourself before you decide. There's good 3D and there's not so good 3D.
Yes please, kill the game rental industry. It's a parasitic industry leeching off game developers. The easier it is to make a profit as a game developer, the more game developers there will be and therefore also more games.
3D without glasses does not look nearly as good as 3D with active shutter glasses. If you understand how why we are able to see in 3D at all, this should be obvious. Hint: It has something to do with us having two eyes, instead of just one.
In the interview he says that it's hard to make a game run in 3D, but this is only a half truth. Because in reality, the only thing needed to make a game 3D is to render each frame twice (for each eye). The hard part is doing this without affecting performance too much. He even explains it himself in the next question: "3D support is a challenge because in some ways you're drawing everything twice".
My point is that while 3D might be a gimmick this generat...
I never buy games used. I can afford them new, so I'd rather support the developer and industry than not. If I were a kid without a job though, I'd probably be more selfish and buy used too.
Judging by the name "Lisa Foiles", I believe the writer is female.
When the generation ends according to you (or anyone else) is irrelevant when it comes to total sales. Total sales is just total sales.
When the dust settles = When all 3 consoles are no longer available at retail.
It's also the late sales which give the most profit on the hardware.
