Well, if it progresses like it has recently, I guess it'll take 10-15 years to create a decent game in 2060.
I just want better gameplay.
You can't complete Ulduar without Naxxramas gear. And you can't complete Ulduar hardmode without Ulduar easymode gear. This is how progression works in WoW. It works like intended, so there is nothing broken about it.
The fun in the WoW endgame is not about having gear, it's about playing the boss encounters, which are far more intricate and interesting than in any other MMORPG out there.
If your idea of fun is just equipping good gear, then WoW is not a game for...
Also, the demo went "gold" back in december 2008, so this is a 4 month old prediction.
I don't think people understand how much sourcecode 350kb actually is. When there are no new assets (images, sounds or videos) looking at the size of the patch is absolutely NO indication of how much programming has been done.
I'm not saying it isn't already on the disc; I'm saying we have no way of knowing whether or not it is, and assuming something doesn't make it a fact.
I guess developers have to pad their patches in the future, making them bigger than neede...
Yes, it takes way too long to create games nowadays, and it's almost solely due to better hardware (and graphics). FF7 was released in 1997, and in 2001 was FF10 released. 4 of the best games ever imo. Now it's 2009 and still FF13 isn't out.
I'd rather have great gameplay than great graphics. Does that make me casual?
I couldn't. The input lag would be extremely annoying. My average ping to central Europe (where the closest server to me would likely be located) is 50ms. Not even remotely acceptable after being used to 0ms latency since 1981! Also, streamed video is crap compared to uncompressed video.
Things are supposed to get better, not worse.
Looking forward to this one. I thought I was gonna miss it (since I don't have a 360), but I just learned they are doing a PC version too :)
It doesn't say anything about a PC version in the IGN article, but it does in the original article/interview at gamer.no, which btw I'm impressed google is even able to translate. It's written in a language only about 10% of norwegians use.
I believe Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy in US) and Heavy Rain are more interactive film than adventure.
The last game I played which felt like a real adventure game was Dreamfall (2006).
I think the battle system was one of the better ones. I actually played through the game 3 times; one time for the "story", second for 100% completion (including the entire Via Infinito) and perfect ending, and the last time (much later) just because I wanted more of the battle system.
Only sales matter?
Well I guess I'm special then, cause they don't matter for me.
But if you can't play online, then that's obviously less value than being able to do so.
Uhm, gaming mode reduces input lag, by _reducing_ picture quality. Reducing input lag is the whole point of gaming mode, and it works by spending less time processing the picture.
"CryENGINE 3: Next generation engine, rumoured for a 2011-2012 launch."
http://ve3d.ign.com/article...
The first game using this engine won't be out for a VERY long time! Will the 360 even exist in 2012?
I guess I'm just lucky then. This is my 6th year running IE (currently 7) with no firewall and antivirus. Stupidity is what gets people viruses, not some software.
This doesn't prove anything, but one does not need proof to know that a multiplatform game is in most cases gonna look worse than an exclusive. It's just plain logic. The combined limitations of two consoles are more than the limitations of each console separately. It's just the way it is!
Does MGS4 have sidemissions in previous acts?
No.
The graphics aren't great, but the game is very much so.
Also, it's already out in Europe (Feb 20th), so it shouldn't be on that list.
This is just marketing btw. It may be better or it may not. Working longer on something usually makes it better though.
Not really. Half of the world's population have below average IQ :)
You got 6, 8 and 12 wrong :)
Also, it's spelled "you're", not "your"!
