lol, a SKU is something else entirely :)
The PS3 has one PPE and 7 (available) SPUs. The 360 has none of this, but a totally different architecture.
I don't know what "good enough" is, but one thing is for certain: The 3D effect of autostereoscopy (3DS) is nowhere near as good as the 3D effect of proper stereoscopy using active shutter glasses.
There was never a need to upgrade the graphics of video games, but I bet you don't mind that the games of today don't look like PS1 games. 5 years from now, I'm sure you won't mind 3D either.
If companies didn't push new technology, then who would? Your comment is just silly.
I got a job and I seem to be about the same age as you (my first console was an Atari 2600). A long time ago I played most of my games on PC; that was until I got tired of shooters. Take away the shooters, and there's not much of PC gaming left except flash based games. The variety is on consoles.
If you only enjoy shooters I agree that PC is the best platform. No controller can measure up to the keyboard and mouse. I gonna get Portal 2 and Starcraft II on PC, but that&...
Thanks for confirming that PC gamers care too much about graphics. What's wrong with owning a console anyway? They got games and you seem to call yourselves gamers.
Btw, how many PC games have you bought this year? If any, how many of those were not shooters?
There are many Europeans with this game however. It was imported by tons of stores. I didn't even know this game wasn't officially out in Europe until after I played it. (Yes, I'm European) Also, at least 5 in my friends list (all European) have played it.
Many technically inclined people predicted it. It's just insanely hard for a machine to accurately pinpoint the location of human limbs with just two cameras. The hardware itself probably does a very good job at capturing the 3D space. The challenge is translating that data into limb positions, in real time.
There's a reason why motion capture artists wear special skintight suits with LEDs everywhere. Motion capture also uses a ton more cameras.
That 3D effect is just an illusion and it'll only work as long as you keep moving your head/body around. The moment you stop moving, the illusion is gone. Pointless for movies and practically all games.
There simply is no way to achieve a realistic looking 3D effect on a flat surface without some way of displaying a different image for the left and right eye.
Those prices are including 25% VAT. They seem reasonable, everything costs more here than everywhere else anyway.
No wicko, it's simply because 60 * 16.6~ = 1000 (1 sec)
No! The hours of entertainment/money spent ratio is very good.
So under no circumstance are you going to support game development, even though you like to play games?
Good for you. I don't think it's a coincidence that the countries with the highest taxes in the world are also the among the best countries to live in. The money comes back eventually in some form, it doesn't just disappear.
If the price really will be 1500 SEK then the price in the US will most likely be more like 100$. Simply converting is meaningless. First of all, 1500 SEK is including VAT (25% in Sweden) as all prices to consumers in Sweden are required to be including VAT. Secondly, everything is just that much more expensive in Scandinavia - just as the average income is. Games over here cost 100$, a takeaway pizza cost 35$, etc.
PC gaming is dead to me at least. Nothing but shooters, MMORPGs and downloadable low budget games. The variety is on consoles.
Don't know how you came to that realization, but it's not true. I got the platinum and I know I haven't killed 1000+ Adamantoises :) I didn't count, but perhaps I killed 200. After getting the hang of it every one of them went down in less than 2 minutes.
If you play Soul Calibur on PSN I can own you :)
Your statement is ridiculous Ocelot525. That yours and your friend's PS3 has died is obviously statistically insignificant. It's just funny (and a little sad) that you believe otherwise.
It's fun when American people think UK is some huge territory like what the US are. Please look at the world map... can you even find the UK? First of all, the UK is very much a part of Europe. Secondly, when compared to the entire Europe, the UK is just a small part.
Should sales matter to me?
