That's nonsense. The UK might be relatively big, but it's nowhere near half of Europe.
In the chinese version of WoW you get less XP if your character gets tired, and eventually no XP at all if you keep on playing. Much like the rested system in WoW everywhere else, just the other way around.
This is anti-addiction technology, and is apparently mandatory for mmorpgs in China.
I'm a waiting fan.
Playing First Departure and Second Evolution on the PSP in the meanwhile :)
Already played Till the End of Time (PS2), almost 400 hours playtime actually. Great game!
If you need a hard drive and Live the 360 is already more expensive.
Ray-tracing is the technique used for prerendered videos. It's very slow compared to the usual rendering technique (which has barely changed since Quake), but it creates far more realistic images. This is because the raytracing algorithm more closely resembles how reality "renders" the world (so to speak).
Ray-tracing is an easy technique because the laws of physics are simple. Effects like shadows, reflection, refraction, etc doesn't require much effort to implement ...
soxfan2005,
You also have to remember that console prices are like 50% higher in Europe (than in the US).
As you probably know, profit = selling price - production cost. And since the production cost is constant for all territories, the profit per console for both MS and Sony is much higher in Europe.
I believe the same is true for software. A new game costs about 85$ in Europe with the current exchange rate. This is probably why most publishers go...
So that's how Gears of War 2 looks like, the graphics king of the 360? This is the first time I've seen screenshots from it, and I have to say; I expected a lot better after all the praise it has gotten from 360 owners. I guess it looks better in motion.
That's because "no plans" can mean two things:
1. They actually have no plans.
2. They have plans but can't say it, due to a (timed exclusive) contract.
The lack of an exclusive sticker on the box is a pretty good indicator of what it means this time. He even says "...though you never know if plans will change down the line." as if we should expect a "change" in plans :)
This is the dumbest prophecy I've ever read.
PS4 next year with no Blu-ray drive? lol
Attach rate increases as time passes. A console that has been out longer should have a higher attach rate. This is basic logic, if you know what attach rate actually means.
Not uncommon in Final Fantasy games :)

To summarise:
2x Blu-ray: 9.00 MB/s CONSTANT <- This is all PS3 games
12x SL DVD: 10.57 MB/s AVERAGE
8x DL DVD: 7.93 MB/s AVERAGE <- This is most 360 games
You are trying too hard to spin stuff.
Remember the additional cost of playing online, per year.
Correction: Half initial price.
In the end you're likely to pay more for the 360. Live subscription, chargers/batteries, hard drive, WiFi, etc. Also, there is a higher risk of needing a repair.
Instead of wireless adapter you could also add 2 more years of Live.
From the article:
"So the reality is, most games will probably never be in 1080p and most multiplatform games will look identical in every way."
I believe this to be true. And after reading the article, it's obvious which console is to "blame" for that. Not that it matters for most games, but games like Pixel Junk Eden has so many tiny details it wouldn't be the same in just 720p. It's very easy to see the difference (between 720p and 1080p) i...
One store in Europe does not equal the whole of Europe.
Fact: The cheapest PS3 I'm able to find right now here in Norway is 400€ (560$). And importing the 299€ one (if it's even possible) is gonna cost me alot more than 100€.
When you suck badly and you know it, isn't that punishment enough? Why prefer a long loading screen to Elika's saving ability?
There is a trophy for getting saved (ie. dying) less than 100 times. You can challenge yourself a bit by doing that one without loading a previous save.
NPD is US only.
Have you already forgotten what console earned the big publishers the most money?
