Most likely you have to change your race.
AuToFiRE,
A SC1 keygen didn't generate the same key every time, so with one copy you could install it on the whole LAN and play. It was also possible to change the key without reinstalling if you later wanted to go online with a copy installed using a keygen.
Anyway, even with Warcraft 3 supporting LAN, when we had LAN we always used Battle.Net. It wasn't like there was any additional latency, because the game itself is P2P. The same will be true for SC2. Basical...
I don't see the big deal. Does anyone have LAN-parties without access to the internet in 2009? I think not. Back when SC1 was released the situation was different, and LAN-play was needed.
The reason they are doing this is most likely because they want to reduce piracy.
First it has to actually work.
Everyone changing their names all the time will screw up the community, not the database.
Uhm, a tech demo is proof that something works. Natal, however, is still not proven to work. Prerecorded presentation videos does not count.
You fail to realize how compression-friendly that particular demonstration-video was. It was CGI, slightly blurred and just a small part of the picture had any movement. The background was mostly still cause the camera didn't even pan. It wouldn't have worked for an action movie, you can be sure of that. There is nothing groundbreaking about this technology.
5 Mbit for 1080p with 5.1 audio? That's the stupidest thing I've ever read. Sure, it might be 1080p, but what's the point if it's compressed to hell?
That demonstration video there was perfect for compression. It was CGI, slightly blurred and just a small part of the picture had any movement. The background was mostly still cause the camera didn't even pan. It wouldn't have worked for an action movie, you can be sure of that.
MS has not come up with a magic compr...
lol, now I'm no longer in doubt 'really duh' is payed by MS. That was like reading something straight from their PR department.
Wow, they had The Beatles AND Spielberg!? That's great I guess, but how does this concern me as a gamer? Some people seriously need to learn to look past the facade. I bet some people even think Natal works as good as in those presentation videos.
This is my number 1:

From the scene where Tifa fights the guy in the church in Advent Children.
Compressed (but still very good quality):

Lossless (but smaller than the original):

What you say is true, but GameFAQs is one of the most neutral sites there are. I mean, both PS3 and 360 gamers needs FAQs and it isn't a site with news or articles. There is no point in being a fanboy-regular on GameFAQs since there is nowhere to vent the fanboyism :) Very few visit GameFAQs unless they want a game guide of some sort.
Regardless, let's say all the votes where from fanboys; then that would mean just 3% are disliking the PS3 and 10 times as many dislike the 360. ...
This poll regarding broken consoles is funny :)

This has very little to do with web design, and much more to do with web programming. The page layout is a "template" used for all games, and ASP.NET localization (which MS uses) is automatic. Most likely, the only thing needed to get that page to appear is some data in a database somewhere.
Unbelievable that some are unable to see the obvious fakeness at 2:37. This has nothing to do with being a fanboy. Some things are just impossible, like Natal predicting the future, even if it is only a fraction of a second in the future.
Already got FF7 from the US store. I was surprised that my European VISA worked without any problems. It's alot cheaper in the US too. 10$ instead of 10€.
It looks like it would on PS1, except with some (optional) smoothing, which is not to be confused with real antialiasing.
Other things that cost 10$ where I live:
* A 130g hamburger with nothing.
* Taking the bus downtown and back. (I can walk this distance in 1 hour total)
* Parking my car downtown for 3 hours.
* 5 liters of fuel. (That would be 1.32 US gallons)
Hell, I eat for more than 10$ every single day!
The dungeons will be randomized. This was confirmed a long time ago.
