Microsoft is making a huge mistake with Scoprio... it will be a very short lived console. There are a lot of people thinking the competition is between Neo and Scoprio but it is not. Neo is only looking to compete with the S model for the next year... then when Scoprio comes out you will soon see a PS5 reveal leaving Microsoft one step behind. This is why they are letting all future Xbox One games go to Windows 10.

I wish people would see the obvious marketing spin Microsoft is putting out there in regards to the "unprecedented demand", "sold out" phrases. If I have 100 PS4s and sell 90 but you have 10 Xbox Ones and sell 10 you technically "sold out" but I still sold 80 more than you did. Deceptive marketing 101.
The remasters and backwards compatible games this generation show how poor in comparison this generation is. When I look back at 360/PS3 there were so many amazing new IPs... Gears of War, Uncharted, Mass Effect, Bioshock, Dead Space, Red Dead Redemption, The Last of Us, Batman Arkham, Borderlands, etc... but fast forward to the lifespan of the One/PS4 and I have a hard time coming up with a solid list of good new IPs but rather remasters of aforementioned games or sequels to those games. Disappointed but not surprised that the timed missions are still there... it really ruins what could be a better series. As noted in the video you have this fun open world to explore but can't really explore too much without missing a lot of missions. I thought Dead Rising 3 was a bit fun but kept getting pulled out of the experience with multiple time events going on in the background. Would be nice at the very least for them to include an option to turn off the timers.
Disagree... you shouldn't have to put 50+ hours into a game as a "practice run". And no, I do not have energy to go find a couple dozen drop pods again to upgrade an exosuit for example - that was one of the most repetitive tasks of the game and I have no intention of doing it again. I already put my limited edition up on ebay, I'm done.
Up until update 1.04 No Mans Sky had been my favorite game of this generation... nothing else even compared for me. And although I hadn't reached the center of the universe yet I had been able to platinum the game and get an exosuit with 48 slots, ship with 36 and multi-tool with 23 slots. BUT... then I installed patch 1.04 and it corrupted my save files (on PS4 and backed up into the cloud). So I'm quitting No Mans Sky now... this is unacceptable. I do not have the energy to star...
Seeing this makes me wish Wipeout was a VR title. As for Driveclub I would have enjoyed the game minus the drifting.. it really ruined the experience for me.
After the vitriolic reaction to No Man's Sky I will not be surprised to see this game get a lot of glowing reviews because it has a lot of hand holding with the same basic campaign that every single person who plays it will experience. 10 out of 10 dude-bros!

That's a lot of patching for a game where you spend most of your time hiding behind boxes and choosing 1 of 4 responses to NPCs.
When I was in elementary school back in the day my teacher showed the class a 60 minutes type segment featuring Bill Gates at the house of the future. I vividly remember seeing Bill walking around a mock house that a had a little device "box" in the middle of the living room that not only played TV and video games but controlled the lights, garage door, took phone messages, etc...
I know listening to Microsoft back in 2001 they insisted Xbox was all about gaming ...
I wish developers would stop announcing games until they are near completion, know their target date won't move. The reveal to launch of a title like Fallout 4 was perfect... if only we knew they were turning it into a shooter with poorly implemented crafting/building.
I hope the community at large keeps this in mind when thinking about how ground breaking the Scoprio is going to be... Microsoft have a history of fudging the numbers. With that said the Xbox One S is a nice looking console... roughly same size as PS4... if this had been the console Microsoft launched with, no kinect and matched PS4 in price I think it would have been been more of a competition. Too little too late.
Mario Kart 8 is the entire reason I still have my Wii U, easily in my top 5 so far this generation. I'm still amazed to this day that nobody has tried to compete with Mario Kart... I thought Little Big Planet Racing was going to be that game but they focused too much on modes that had nothing to do with racing at all.
As much as I love my PS4 I have to say that 2013/14 some of my favorite games of this generation came out on the Wii U - Mario Kart 8, Captain Toad, Bayonetta 2, Super Mario 3D World but after that it quickly slowed down. Wii U was no doubt a poorly designed console, especially the gamepad which I think was the biggest reason it flopped. Whatever they have up their sleeves next I'd be OK with it not being on Neo/Scorpio levels of power. Heck, I'd be happy with PS4 specs as long as ...
I have to echo the sentiments of wishing I could just purchase the first game in the series. Maybe they will be available digitally separate like Metro and Dead Island games are. I'd especially like to skip out on Infinite which I thought was a terrible game all together.
