I am just amazed at how naive gaming journalists and the community at large are when it comes to the Neo/Scoprio debate. Sony has absolutely no intention of competing with Scorpio. Neo is coming out this fall, over a year before the Scorpio is released - their only competition is the Xbox One S. The reality is that Sony set Microsoft up to show their hand at E3. Here is what is happening...

Neo and PlayStation VR launch this October... this is a full year before Scorpio...

Sunset Overdrive along with Ori and the Blind Forest have been the only Xbox exclusives I have enjoyed this generation. I think Insomniac made a huge mistake going Xbox exclusive with Sunset Overdrive, the audience on PS4 would have been much more open to that type of game and I think we would already be talking about a sequel. Instead it looks like the chances of a sequel are zero.

"The game has a near infinite universe to explore"... with an infinite amount of grinding to explore it.

While I wouldn't agree that a change in HUD design is false advertising (although a lot of the game was) I would agree I'm confused by the change in design... what they showed in E3 trailers of the initial HUD design was much more dynamic and elegant compared to what we got. But then again so were the environments and creatures.

I just couldn't justify owning the game which is why I sold off my limited edition. I think if I ever do revisit NMS it will be well over a year from now but on PC. I don't think Hello Games is capable of making it into a good game but mods might.

I had picked up the limited edition on pre-order but last week I turned around and sold it on Amazon. I wanted to love this game but I couldn't even like it... after unlocking all inventory slots, upgrading all components and finishing the Atlas path it was time to admit that it was nothing more but a procedurally generated grind. As a fan of retro-scifi fiction I love the aesthetics of the audio and visuals but beyond that there is really no game. I'm not surprised to see so many ...

If you were a kid in the 80s it is impossible to explain the impact of playing Super Mario Bros. the first time. My parents got me the NES Christmas of 1985... it came with Super Mario Bros., Duck Hunt, Gyromite, two controllers, light zapper and R.O.B.... it was mind-blowing and to this day it is the only retro console I still own.

I would gladly revist ME1 as I felt it was a great stand alone experience. I'm not all that eager to get back to the sequels which had more in common with Gears of War than an epic RPG.

The first and last Green Day song I liked was Disappearing Boy way back in 1990... with that said as the years have gone Green Day have done their best to become the "punk rock" version of U2, fancying themselves as the saviors of humanity. It's what a band does when their best music is decades behind them.

Translation.... we messed up the controller again.

Honestly, I loved the NES, SNES, N64 and Gamecube controllers - each found a way to put their own unique spin on the classic controller. If the NX has a controller similar to the Wii U in that it is a controller attached to a screen then they are making the same mistake again. That configurations is the reason the system was doomed from the start and this is coming from somebody whose favorite game of 2014 was Captain Toa...

I'm definitely excited for PSVR down the line, I don't see any must own titles at launch so I'll wait until after the holidays. I think of the biggest obstacles in marketing VR is that you can't really show people how cool something can be unless they try it themselves. In the meantime your left with pictures like this that do nothing to sell the platform... http://nextgengamingblog.co... ...

I really enjoyed the original Dead Rising but haven't liked anything since. Dead Rising 3 had some neat elements but was just not a good game, this unfortunately doesn't look to improve anything... in fact I'd say it looks more like an expansion pack than an actual new entry in the series. Hard pass.

I really like the Xbox 360 controller, I have not liked any of the Xbox One variations including the elite. Something about the design feels clunky and a bit cumbersome, especially that ridiculous top section which is a lot of empty real estate.

The reason Microsoft has to keep reassuring people outside of the die-hard Xbox crowd that they are committed to Scorpio is because they made a mistake with Scorpio. I know there are going to be a lot of fanboys unwilling to admit but Sony set Microsoft up at E3....

The reality is Sony talked about Neo without actually talking about Neo because they knew Microsoft would feel forced to show something "big" at E3. If rumors are to be believed Scorpio has better sp...

I wish I could agree that this game is about the journey rather than the "end", that sounds like a great game to me! However, there is no journey... it is one very long, procedurally generated grind. The reason I was excited for this game was because I thought it was going to be like classic science fiction... outside of the color palette it really isn't. And to say people who thought something like the Atlas path was just stupid must not like classic science fiction is absurd...

When I finished the Atlas path and saw that I created a new star I thought... oh man, something cool actually just happened in the game, I can't wait to go see it! Oh wait... I can't go see it and completing the quest has absolutely no impact on anything? Greaaaaaaaaat.

I've seen creatures about this size, sometimes in large herds but just as this video shows none of them are even close to as dynamic as the trailers. They are the same goofy creatures pieced together with robotic movements, just bigger. If you think those look as well put together and programmed as these you are in some denial... https://youtu.be/nLtmEjqzg7...
