Reminds me of the night maps in socom confrontation, having to move slowly and keep in the shadow, was great fun.
It'll be good if they bring some night time maps as dlc, I might actually buy that.
What annoyed me was that the gameplay was actually awesome, allowed you to flank and sneak around.
Ruined by the infrastructure though, not sure how that happened its a shame.
It'll come in time
Same thing happened with oblivion, a few fairly meaningless add ons with some notable exceptions like the knights DLC.
Then later on the shivering Isles pack.
Its a nice logo, not imaginative but then it doesnt need to be.
The grey writing reminds me of design portfolios, they always use light grey writing to try and look modern and slick.
Its basically MS trying to say that theyre transforming into something for not and the future. Which makes sense with the arrival of windows 8, everything now uses the same basic code so its all linked.
Xbox, Windows, tablets/smarphones, office. All done by the ...
I just want the fully destructible maps back. The best thing about choppers in BC2 was the ability to get a friend in the gun turret with mics and just blow apart buildings containing the other team, or driving a tank straight through a wall.
I dont get the reason for it being taken away, even with full on carnage there was always still places to take cover it was pretty rare that all buildings were destroyed.
I want to be able to use grenade launchers to bl...
Probably, but only in the same way that current consoles can support 1080p.
In very few games which are generally less graphically intensive. I mean who knows maybe even current gen consoles could technically support 4K if were talking about an indie game or something really basic like flow.
^ thats not fact though merely a thought.
Just took a quick look, its not that detailed.
For both Skyrim and Oblivion I used uesp.net, the elder scrolls wiki.
Its got pretty much every single quest, item, character and location on there including books and lore. Its great for tricky quests and just as good to read out of interest.
In all fairness COD gets a lot of flack but then what shooter has really changed its online gameplay?
Theres little tweaks here and there but theyre all basically the same just with updated graphics and a couple bits to keep it fresh.
Gears still feels the same online, BF3 felt a lot like BF BC2 they even copied some buildings, Rainbow six vegas and vegas 2 didnt change much.
And then when some games did change a lot, like SOCOM 4, they crash...
In all fairness, whilst the wording is a little edgy its a good idea.
Some people here forget that whilst some people want to play games every so often, if youve not played for years just using a controller takes getting used to, especially with shooters which is off putting when the person theyre playing with is a shooter veteran obsessed with his K/D ratio.
Theyve added in easier modes for racers and its meant some of my friends who arnt so good can get inv...
Its a great idea and it'll be good if it takes off. And if someone doesnt have a home console yet then it might be something worth buying.
But I dont think it'll offer much for the average gamer that home consoles dont already have. The indie scene is pretty big on home consoles now.
Only yesterday i was introduced to a game on PSN called rock of ages, which had a brilliant twist on tower defense and awesome visuals that were really different.
There were a few things I thought were good.
Gun customization is an obvious one. It'd be great to be able to pick up random bits or have rare scopes you could attach to weapons and silencers or anything really.
I liked the idea of armor customization too, in a wasteland any customization is good but i dont think it would be so easy to implement.
And a big yes for being able to join the bad guys more often, and choosing race so you can be...
Every time I want to hate the next COD, but then theres always something that makes me want it... COD4 may have had the best maps but.
COD5: Zombies
MW2: Spec ops
Black ops 2: Better zombies, some decent maps
MW3: Awesome horde mode
And now this with the cool future stuff. I know each game is basically the same but they keep adding these little bits that should just be shrugged off as gimmicks but dam it they make these little additio...
Theres nothing wrong with changing up a series every so often, but changing one of the main gaming mechanics which also dictated animations and the cover system that gave the game its distinct feel?
Cant see it happening for the main series. Gears of War is for many people one of the best third person cover based shooters out there.
MS already has Halo as its flagship FPS. Cant see them wanting epic to change their game so much.
Makes sense.
It wont be the same as the desktop version, but the look will be the same with the tiles (happening anyway in the next 360 update) and it'll have a lot in common with the desktop version but it'll be skimmed down.
The next xbox will be past of MS's entire strategic plan. Smartphones, tablets, PCs and console all using the same basic operating system.
It means developers can make an app and it'll port easily to ev...
Is £1000 really that much to spend on what is basically an entire entertainment system?
Go back a few years and a decent 42" HDTV would set you back a good £900 all on its own, even now really if you want a nice one you have to be willing to spend a bit as the cheaper models don't always come with amazing panels.
Then youve got the console with at least 2 controllers, a launch ps3 was something like £425, then youve got to buy £40...
Sounds good =)
To think how navigation on the 360 started all those years ago, those few slides, so something this visually impressive is brilliant.
I think most people are happy with how it is right now but to see its still being improved and kept fresh is amazing.
I always wished sony would update the ps3's UI, it works fine though I never understood the way the in game menu is handled. Guess its something for next gen.
COD4 has been my favorite shooter this gen
The maps were so well designed they allowed for run and gun type players to have their fun, but also allowed for sneaky players to crawl in tall grass, creep into large buildings and take out snipers.
It had the perfect balance between camping spots that wernt too powerful, and maps that allowed for spectacular choke points.
And each different type of gun brought new ways to play and added variety. ...
Brilliant game. One of the few games Ive kept instead of trading in its the best thing Bethesda has put out this gen. Played skyrim too and I still reckon this game knocks the socks off it.
If you havent played it and enjoyed Skyrim, Oblivion, or any action or western RPG, give it a shot. It'll surprise you.
Kids will love it
But then are parents going to invest in such an expensive bit of kit when the psp is cheaper, looks the same and has a library of games kids will want anyway?
Its not even like games on the psp look graphically that bad. Just buy the kid a few games from the lego series and your sorted.
Thats that then.
Though lets be honest, part of the original psp's success did come down to how easy it was to crack and develop software for.
Yeah tons used it for pirating, but many used it just to mess around with. Basically whats about to happen is more hardware sales, and less software sales...
For me its a big reason not to get a vita now, because this does have the potential to stop developers making great games for the system.
