That's cool I'll look into it.

And there isn't a real advantage these days since controller inputs usually have aim assist.

I regularly plug in my xbox controller into my pc to play online. Its never been an issue.

That kind of sucks. Im playing on the PC and hoped that I could play with friends getting the game on ps4.

There isn't a massive advantage to using either setup controller or kb and mouse.

Well there is that.

I'm never buying another of their games at launch again. Got burned twice with ps3 versions that were almost unplayable at times and constant bugs.

No.

Whats the point? Wait for the real release. Remember by being in this beta we are doing the publishers a service, thats why its free.

Save your money for something that's finished and not buggy. Games are expensive as it is.

I tried using a mouse but if I have the option I always go for a controller.

Maybe its just what I'm used to, but its just irritating having to make my hands do gymnastics in order to do certain things.

With a controller every button is in easy reach and its comfortable.

Though that's FPS games and racers ect, obvious with games like RTS and some other genres its a keyboard and mouse no contest.

Does it matter? Both will sell millions and the servers will be full for years to come.

Both games are fun in their own way. Personally I prefer Battlefield but thats just me. COD4 and world at war were brilliant though. since then the kill streaks ruined it a bit for me. My issue is that gun battles are always quick and usually its one person shooting another in the back. Whereas in BF4 you often get into real gunfights.

However its a new generation. COD use...

Checked google play store, says its been installed between 1-5 million times in the last 30 days. That's just on android.

So yeah that sounds very believable.

Sounds like a decent app. I assume you can use it to purchase content when away from your console like the web store? And then the xbox downloads it ready for you to play if I remember correctly. Great feature.

If I used my xbox more I would definitely use it.

@Superterabyte

And yet your on a website dedicated to news about shiny shiny consoles?

Its simple why tablets are so popular. Many people who used to use larger more cumbersome laptops and pc's for simple tasks like facebook, email, general web browsing and skype can now do so in a product that much better caters to those types of activities.

Honestly, stop caring what other people want and calling them sheep just to try and elevate yours...

@Foxgod

Its a bit different with consoles though, pc games have to work across many different specs which is why games never take full advantage of an individual PC.

Its different with consoles where they will do everything to max these things out. Its not uncommon for devs to use uncommon techniques and try out different things to really push a console.

It kind of makes sense. PC tech at the moment isn't just about big power advances but efficiency. Higher efficiency will mean less heat, meaning that cooling isn't as much of an issue.

Its all on one chip too which helps to cut down size. And as what we are seeing here is more off the shelf hardware, its probably easier to work it down to a smaller size.

Add into that the original ps3 had a crazy array of ports for all different cards under that flapp...

Honestly this isn't a cause to worry.

The fact is that new sports cars are ridiculously curved, and your trying to replicate that on a TV based on square pixels. So even with loads of AA it'll still be there a bit.

Once you look at 4K though, the sheer resolution makes the jaggies un noticeable.

I thought Forza 4 looked great, the cars looked great. They'll beat that with the xbox one, so anyone getting that game should be really...

Plug the PC into my TV to play games with friends locally.

Playing online is brilliant, but I still live to invite friends round sometimes for some 4 player COD or Resistance or what few games still fully support local play properly.

That alone makes consoles worth a purchase for me.

tbh I went with a 6300 and i reckon that would probably be alright next gen. Once games take advantage of multi core more.

Might need 8350 if you want max on every game though. I think they probably decided to go cheap on the CPU to leave as much money as possible for the GPU. Which makes sense as if anything between the cpu ad gpu its the latter that will create a bottleneck next gen.

Im only using a 7770 atm which is a bit worrying with 1gb vram. but i doub...

Sony has been clever with this one.

You do realize that Sony saying its the same as the ps3, all they're doing is saying THEY wont impose restrictions, but publishers still can that's not for Sony to dictate.

MS made a big mistake getting in bed with EA saying they'd have DRM, and what makes it funnier is that EA took away their online pass not long ago.

Its genius! Publishers are always seen as the bad guys and EA probably knew ...

One thing that PC games need is some sort of split screen functionality.

I know a lot of people will disagree, but I game on consoles and PC and considering the graphical benefits of PC gaming, especially considering console games usually have to lower the graphics for split screen, Id love to be able to plug it into my TV every now and then.

Is it really that hard to implement?

Insomniac lost their stride years ago.

The last Ratchet and clank trilogy was pretty good. Though imo even that failed to match their ps2 counterparts.

Resistance was pretty good. Though it never matched up to killzone or gears and that really hurt the game.

They just completely ditched every core value they had. memorable stories, likeable characters. and swapped it for boring characters no one cares about and tired old stories.

I know a few people who bought ps3's for this game. People who years back never would have thought of getting a ps3.

Its one of those few games that will warrant buying a ps3. Given the track record naughty dog set this gen with uncharted, another system selling franchise, this game should be brilliant.

COD 4 pretty much set up the franchise for this gen so I expect they will want to do the same with their next game.

People always expect more at the start of new consoles. Whoever makes a big impact from the get go, marketing AND gameplay. I think thats who will be top dog.

Only problem Im seeing is that battlefield could just become the next cod the way things are heading.
