That feel people are talking about in games like killzone are not down to fps, thats down to the way the controls are set up by the devs. They just made the game feel weighty.

It'd still feel like that at a higher fps. A higher fps brings extra crispness, better responsiveness. There's literally no downside.

Now one could argue that at some point it becomes unnecessary for some games, but it certainly wont make anything worse!

I've never had any issues with AMD cards at all.

I think these days both amd and nvidia are alright with drivers and optimizing for games, and with next gen consoles using amd, chances are amd support will get better.

At different price points theyre both pretty competitive. Tomshardware does a monthly price to preformance article for all price points using benchmarks from actual games.

Never noticed nvidia having a particular advantage f...

The single player is awesome, but the issues around mp have annoyed me somewhat. I tried waiting a while for things to clear, but when I was supposed to be put into a tutorial, my poor player just fell from the sky and landed with a thud in the middle of nowhere!!!

At that point it was funny, but a glitched mission later, followed by a freeze and loss of my character, its gotten silly.

If its not ready don't release it, people would have waited for this....

It should be on fairly high settings.

Considering that fairly low spec PC's are able to play current gen games at max/high settings with playable frame rates, next gen consoles should keep up for a year or two. Not max but Im expecting decent settings.

I'd like to see that in some games.

Worked well in SOCOM. Its not just cheating then you cover all forms of bad play. Pepople who have obviously left the controller for half an hour stopping people from joining, trolls etc. Simple vote and kick.

Personally I cant see any of their other games as great as they are managing those kind of sales.

There are so many factors that all come together to make this franchise sell like this and getting that mix is as much about luck as anything. In the beginning the devs weren't even interested in the game, it was more of a side project!

For starters this is one of the few games that truly reflects today's society with real wit and a location and issues w...

I'm gonna wait for reviews to come in but I like the idea.

As long as the grip on the controller is still good and the track pads have a decent texture, then this will be more responsive and more accurate. Its one less thing between you and the input.

Plus although it may not be this advanced idk, but haptic feedback is great. I've seen demonstrations where surfaces take on completely new textures such as timber ect.

Its one of the mo...

If it helps its the same in the UK too, Nick Clegg of all people called games corrosive a few days ago. Cant believe he has the nerve to be the voice of good or bad after the sh*t he's pulled.

I wouldn't fret about it though. The average gamer age is above 30 and will continue to rise and just like every old generation one day we will look back and laugh at the old fools!

How can you say that?

Apple already has. look at the number of indie devs flocking to smartphones. Game development has become much more accessible and that can only be a good thing.

I used to play games on a psp, but now whilst the vita looks great, for short journeys on the train with a powerful smartphone many people arn't bothering.

Its not even debatable anymore, smartphones have 100% changed the gaming market. There will always be r...

Sounds brilliant.

I know a few people that were not looking at the vita, and now that they have pre ordered a ps4, are looking at it purely because you can stream games from the ps4 to it anywhere in your house.

Plus with this device, it just ties everything together nicely.

The problem is here people are whining and talking about how there should be less people in dev teams and less spent on marketing.

But its not the 80's anymore where 2 people can build a game in a week. The detail in today's games is mind boggling and that takes people and time which costs money.

And with gamers constantly demanding better visuals, bigger games etc, how else do you expect such a demand to be met? All costs more money, more people, mor...

People keep bashing call of duty but until developers understand that our homes are not dev studios with 10's of consoles ready to have a huge lan game, I'll keep buying it since its light years ahead of all other shooters apart from possibly halo.

We don't care if you need to turn down the graphics settings to make it work. My main issue this gen was the lack of local multiplayer on shooters. If its only going to get worse then consoles have lost their main selli...

Something changed this gen.

I've always loved shooters but there was a distinct lack of variety this gen. LBP was fun and there's few others but big franchises have really taken over.

I wonder as the quality of indie games goes up and up, hopefully they can continue to fill this gap and widen their scope for larger games a bit.

Id love to see more platformers, more comedy in games, more colour.

Not bothered about this game really. Its not a system seller that's for sure.

Just watched it. Look good. but remember we got tech demos for sixaxis last time and look where it is now.

Im not saying I want it to fail, I loved sixaxis. I just want to see it used in fun and novel ways by more than the odd developer out for a gimmick to drive sales.

Hopefully we will see another decent ratchet and clank game. Insomniac always used new inputs in fun ways. What was it called the tornado gun or something?

darthkai is right I'm surprised at the disagrees am I missing something here?

technically the ps3 and 360 could do 1080p 60fps. In fact some games did, however they're also simple small games.

There's a trade off. Yes we could have next gen be all 1080p 60fps, but this means more limited games.

Personally I agree that developers should be left to decide on whats is best for the game. Some games this gen really benefited from 1080...

Actually from what Ive heard BF4 has taken a quality hit on consoles to an extent.

Theres still time left for optimization so Im hoping they sort it out. Id rather less fps on a game like that. Its not exactly a reflex shooter like cod...

HOWEVER it'll smoke any old pc's or anything around the cost of a ps4.

Actually depending on the use AMD can be a pretty smart choice.

On the lower end you get more cores, which makes AMD CPU's dramatically better in benchmarks for threaded applications such as photoshop, rendering programs etc.

And then the gap between intel and AMD is never more than 2-3fps anyway. getting a CPU that wont bottleneck your graphics card is simple hence why so many people opt for an fx 6300 for cheaper builds.

Plus consider...

I just hope it actually gets used.

What happened to sixaxis? Warhawk used it for flying and there was that game lair and ratchet and clank used it.

But that's it for my game collection.

New inputs are ALWAYS going to be a good thing, new ways to interact with a game are always welcome.

But if its not used, its just extra expense. The burden is on sony to show developers that it is worth their time using by being creative....

Gave it a go, the ai is so much better than it used to be!

Still play this game loads with friends on gameranger. Genuinely timeless and hopefully it'll continue to get support for a long time.
