Gaming is still a very young medium, and much more technically challenging than film. I agree with what this guy says.

We can still only do a certain set of genres mainly because technology isn't up to scratch yet. Think about it, even games like the last of us, need a heavy amount of action to remain enjoyable, whilst the characters were great they still cannot carry a game by themselves.

I wouldn't be surprised if one day there are role playing game...

First game I played on the first console I owned. We need more games like this again with the humor that games like this, Jak and Daxter and Crash Bandicoot all pulled off so well.

I was going to buy the HD collection for the ps3, not sure if I should wait on this though since the HD collection is just a straight rip?

How can people say that COD hasn't changed?

Clearly the core mechanics must stay the same, otherwise its not COD? Why arnt peoplle bashing on Battlefield, Halo, Forza, Assassins creed etc. Theyre all the same with bits added on at the end of the day.

And then look at some franchises that were ambitious and tried new things, many of them died because they strayed too far.

Adding the exo-skeletons was a stroke of genius. They both managed ...

If they'd just add galactic conquest Id jump for joy.

Does make me worry if they wont even add what is essentially just a new menu system that's not in battlefied already, how far they've really gone from their tried and tested formula.

However once its released lets be honest, i'll be so dazzled by the pretty colours I'll forget I'm playing the star wars battlefield expansion pack, and even if I do cotton on, I'll be having too mu...

Is this really a massive issue?

On older consoles and handhelds pirating was a lot easier. But whp really wants to go through the faf of unlocking these machines which I'm guessing will mean no online play, as the games will either not work, or you will get spotted and a chance of bricking your machine.

Plus you have massive downloads from unreliable sources. Peer to peer works nicely if your talking a few gig, not 50-60 gigs of data.

I ...

Unless the graphics are allowing a new gameplay mechanic, I'd take the frames.

Graphics look great for the five mins you marvel at them, but still years on I'm playing Timesplitters on the PS2 occasionally, and age of empires on the PC. By today's standards the graphics are trash but they run good.

Hold on.

Am I missing something or have they taken away the third person cover system?

It worked so well in the previous versions and was the main mechanic that slowed the pace of the game from run and gun to thoughtful placement and shooting.

Hope this game is good, the series is amazing. But I'm worried that what we are getting is just going to be generic shooter mechanics, plus some destructibility.

The series deserv...

I thought they they did pretty well in the ps3 version of the last of us (haven't played the ps4 one)

In all the cut scenes it felt like I was watching a fairly well budgeted sci fi series and the facial expressions and animations were better than many :p

So if they get this face, with better animations than that, then it will be beautiful.

Any idea if this is employing motion capture for the facial animations? Surely then you don't n...

What game series doesn't keep the same formula with each iteration??

When they released the new Halo game people complained about sprint, and now its going to be an option you can turn off and nerfed.

What your asking COD to do is to not be COD. They have to keep the core mechanics as that's what people want.

Why does no one get at Halo, Battlefield, just about every series of shooters??

If you don't like COD, do...

Forgive me if I am wrong but isnt this how it generally goes? When the new consoles come out system requirements jump up, and then as the cycle goes on it becomes cheaper to beat console graphics quality.

Could it not be that 16gb soon becomes the norm, and prices will lower? Or am I completely wrong there? I don't PC game a lot im still on an amd 7770 =p (and it still manages to be honest so I don't take these requirements too seriously anyway)

I wouldst worry, Red Dead had some decent online elements and I thought GTA5 smashed it to the point that the online almost took precedent over the incredible single player.

I don't know how it would work, but given their progress, it seems logical to begin to experiment with how you intertwine the SP and MP. And if anyone can do it, it has to be Rockstar.

Good to see.

Weather this is a heart felt apology or just a measure to save their reputation it doesn't matter really.

What matters is that gamers voices were heard, and something was done about it.

Ubisoft are not the only guys to mess up in games like these. Think about all the Skyrim bugs, GTA5 online bugs etc.

Mistakes are made in games like these sometimes as long as developers own up and compensate us and don'...

Same here, whilst the new game looks great, I didn't see anything that I thought would make it a completely new experience.

It might take a while. But I think I will wait for the next game. I played GTA5 a lot last gen and will probably still play it on that version. Its awesome

Your wrong.

I have the game on my windows 8 pc but it takes some work.

Look it up, you need to go into the game files and set it to run on one core, and limit the frame rate.

Smooth sailing from then on!

Completely agree.

Games like bf never really get old because each match is always different. The open ended maps just dont get old like corridor shooters.

Its similar to warhawk, I played that for years. Fact is I could get rid of bf4 and go back to bad company 2 and bf3, and id be happy.

If they want to develop the franchise, they need to be bolder than this.

Heres hoping they get battlefield right. Feel free to bring back ...

I haven't pre-ordered a game in years...

When was the last time you couldn't get a game day one or at least week 1?

All the same, sucks for people who pre ordered. Guessing you cannot just cancel and re order?

If releasing a game on that date was going to cannibalize their sales, they'd all be moving dates. Its happened before.

These people are spending up to millions on marketing and figuring out when the best release window is. I'm guessing they figured that October is worth the competition.
