Jim knows when the earnings call for Sony comes when they no longer have COD, he is going to have to explain the double digit drop in revenue. He knows his job is on the line here.
Wow MS is planning to take COD from PS, I am shocked. They really don't want to take the free money lol.
Personally if I was MS I would say if you want COD, cancel all third party deals you have like Final Fantasy.
Fair enough "around half" could very will be more than 55% but that's still not great, since Saints Rows sold badly anyway.
To me this is bad for Sony's $70 remake, especially since they rely on games sales as opposed to subscriptions or MTX. But if Saint's Row is the new bar for PS sales I guess they will be fine.
@IRetrouk
You are wrong 55% of all sales of Saints Rows were on PS5, so I will repeat TLOU sold less that the PS5 version of Saints Row. Which is bad no matter how you try to spin it, unless Saints Row numbers are the new bar for PS exclusives.
Dude it sold less than the PS5 version of Saints Row so I wouldn't say it did well, the opposite in fact.
Usually 95% of games stay for at least a year some even longer, personally I always make sure I finish a game I want to play within the year since after that it could leave at anytime.
EA and MS games stay forever though.
So multiplatform until the end of the current generation then exclusive next gen makes sense, ensures maximum conversion of any casual Playstation gamers to Xbox without alienating anyone who already has a Playstation.
Dude you need to touch some grass.
This isn't the game you want to lord over xbox gamers.
Agreed 343 are just a waste of MS's resources.
I hadn't even played the campaign yet since I was wait to play it in couch coop, I'm sorry but this is a joke. 343 should just be disbanded and Halo put on ice for a good few years. MS have COD now, Halo isn't needed for them to be successful.
As I said before Sony should be and is worried hence why they brought mobile devs and GaaS devs.
Single unit sales are irrelevant these days, services games are far far more successful and profitable which is why you are seeing Sony panic buying.
Console/game unit sells were a mark of success in the past but there are pretty much irrelevant now, but have fun living in the past lol.
Exactly that, before Bethesda they were lacking.
Now with Bethesda + ABK they will easily become number 1 and Sony/regulators know that.
It will be massive especially when the next generation starts (in years obv) and everyone is aware that they can play COD for free instead of $70 (probably $80 next gen).
Like Sony panic buying House Marquee, Insomniac, Bungie, Haven, mobile devs etc etc.
Sony's fear of becoming irrelevant is very very real, you would have to be blind not to see it.
Surprising that government regulators and Sony themselves believe that no COD is enough to kill the Playstation brand. Crazy to think Sony's 1st party games are that insignificant.
I mean every game will eventually come to Game Pass it's just a matter of whether it will be day 1, month 6, year 1, year 2 etc.
Looks like the big boys are coming to play, Apple was also interested in the purchase my guess is they go for Sony instead, since their movie division would be a great fit for them too.
So crazy another 1st(ish) party Playstation title coming to Game Pass with Xbox achievements, such a weird timeline.
You are right he didn't lie, it's just no one wanted to believe it was a possibility.
Now that it's out in the open the pitchforks are out.
