Exactly this transition was obviously coming, I thought it would be a bit later on but obviously Sony sees the need to do it now.

I am sure all 1st party games will eventually be either Day 1 on PC and PS+ but one step at a time, Sony will get there soon.

If that leaked document is correct it looks like most of the new IPs coming from Sony's Europe devs will be day one PS5 and PC. I am kind of surprised they have made the transition to leave PS exclusivity so fast I thought we had a least another generation before they switched to MS's strategy.

Interesting that you think ABK is enough for MS to eliminate Playstation, I thought of Playstation a bit more highly than that.

Considering there has been no word of a showcase its quite clear Sony blew their load way too early, they likely don't have many games ready and can only rely on remasters and PC releases for the next couple of years.

I fully expect we will get a GOW 2018, GoT and Spiderman remake next year as well all for $70.

Crazy how far Sony has fallen, these are pretty much Nintendo tactics now.

I don't see MS touching the COD machine at least not until they drop support for Playstation (if they ever even do that), because at least then they can reallocate all those Playstation devs to become a Halo team without effecting the general COD output.

The same was said about this Switch and all you got were full price re-releases of old games at full-price.

The same thing will occur with PSVR 2 you can guarantee it.

I am pretty sure if Sony could afford to buy ABK they would have.

September has been an insane month for Game Pass, and what's even crazier is October is looking to surpass it.

The best deal in gaming it still delivering.

Until Sony or MS purchase them and end up exclusive.

1354d ago 1 agree16 disagreeView comment

Sony probably didn't want to pay up, I am sure they asked.

I don't understand what you are missing in that quote.

He is saying (and I will repeat again) it doesn't make what piece of plastic you buy since you can still play together and that is because you still have options to play on PC or Cloud something EVERYONE has access too.

It is that simple.

I am saying exactly what Phil is saying, you won't need to worry if someone has a Xbox or PS because you will always have a way to play since you can still use your PC or Phone.

And like what LOGICWINS said if Sony agreed to having Game Pass on PS you could still use your piece of plastic instead of having to get out your phone or go on your PC.

But regardless EVERYONE will have a way to access their games.

As Phil has said there is no barrier everyone has a PC or phone anyone will be able to play, you don't need a Playstation or Xbox. If you don't have access to a PC or phone then you probably shouldn't be spending money on a console anyway.

Down the road isn' 20 years in the future, that's more like next several years. There will likely be at least one more traditional console generation but after that cloud gaming will likely be standard.

Currently Playstation is a platform people use and like Phil say COD would stay on PS for several more years.

In the future consoles become obsolete, MS is being smart and is preparing for the future if you don't do that you will end up like companies such as Blackberry. There is a reason PS is so scared and it scrambling to make GaaS games and releasing on PC they know the future is coming fast and they are not ready.

That's because all their platforms are accessible to everyone, wether it be PC or Cloud. Since everyone has a phone or a computer.

Consoles will eventually be obsolete in 10 or 20 years that's what MS is talking about.

They should go for SE, Capcom or Sega next and call it a day for publisher purchases and just focus on smaller independent studios.

On a side note it's hilarious how Phil acts like Xbox isn't a major player, they really want to be seen as the little guy so they can keep acquiring.

1358d ago 8 agree48 disagreeView comment

I am pretty sure they are doing both, the money MS spends on purchases isn't the same money used for funding game development.

How is it close to a monopoly that is admitting that both Nintendo and Playstation are inferior to Xbox and that this will cause the death of both of them. It will likely do that to Playstation but Nintendo will be fine meaning it's not even close to a monopoly, maybe just a duopoly.

1358d ago 3 agree22 disagreeView comment

Don't know why they are acting this way, when the deal is complete MS will likely just remove COD from Playstation immediately after the marketing contract is up in retaliation.

This just once agains shows how scared Sony is that MS can end the PlayStation brand at the snap of their wallet.
