Bethesda has some of the best marketing around, I remember when Skyrim launched I saw TV ads constantly.
The fact that this article exists proves the interest in the game, it will be a massive new franchise for sure.
People who pay $60/70 are not more likely to spend additional money, gamers who get a game for free are much more likely to spend money on MTX that's a fact. Heard of game called Fortnite?
Regardless it quite clear that Game Pass it what made this game even slightly relevant, had it not been on the service it would have been dead on arrival on any platform.
For all we know the Xbox version was more profitable than the PS version due to Game Pass, and based on what the devs said it probably was.
My guess is PS users were turned off the game due to knowing Xbox gamers were getting it for "free" while they had to pay $60.
Not everyone cares about resolution, most people would rather have 60/120fps than 4K especially with how good upscaling tech is now.
Decent drop, but I am guessing now until the showcase there won't be anything too crazy.
They won't be able to outbid MS or Tencent so I don't see them trying for it.
They easily had the best showcase last year, with Starfield center stage this year will likely be even better.
At least manual flight has been confirmed, my guess it flies like Outer Wilds so it won't be easy for most people.
I read the same but the $30 is apparently wholesale price so it actually means games over $60 retail price. So small indie games won't need to do it which makes sense because I can imagine Sony would get a lot of complaints from smaller devs.
It's their biggest non-holiday quarter ever and the only exclusive they needed was Game Pass.
@Marvelous408
Exactly Sony has released all its heavy hitting franchises Spider Man, Ratchet, Horizon and GT. All that is left now is GOW.
Even with all that Sony still can't outsell Xbox. Both still have stock issues MS is just paying for better stock just like what Sony did at the beginning of the gen. Once games like Starfield, Avowed, Fable, Elder Scrolls, Fallout and having COD on Game Pass. Xbox sales can only go up.
Xbox number one in US and UK just like in the 360 era.
Massive turn around for Xbox especially considering they have released barely any games.
Campaign coop comes in Season 2 and that's all I care about.
But I agree the BR mode and when Forge is released will be when Halo Infinite is officially out of this beta.
Sounds like it going to be delayed to 2023, which is surprising since the last trailer they showed looked like it was ready to go.
Well Sony already does this in premium games like Death Stranding with those Monster energy drinks, which are part of the game and intrusive.
I'm glad MS is smart and is only doing this with F2P games, which makes sense since it already happens in the mobile space.
I agree but no one seems to like to say the Switch has a 100ml unit lead on the PS5/XS.
But whichever gen you put it in Nintendo is still number one.
Who is disagreeing about facts lol.
At this rate Switch will outsell the PS4 by 2023, that will mean Nintendo will have "won" 2 generations in a row. Crazy how Nintendo always ends up dominating.
"2022 is the year to get a PlayStation 5.... And the same could be said for the Xbox Series X|S, too"
Not even the author can deny it's the year of Xbox lol.
Yeah quite a huge miss, they were 3.3ml lower than their forecast.
They will definitively need to start spending a premium on chips like MS if they want to meet their target next year.
