Yep pretty much.
PSVR2 was always destined to flop I fully expect Sony to drop support after a year or 2 especially since they will need all their devs fully focused on the PS5.
Unless Sony buys SE, it will end up on Xbox.
SE just had another flop with Forespoken, the list of flops is growing and growing they will need all the money they can get. Or the will be asking for a lot more money from Sony for deals.
Nope it will help balance power.
Sony has all the power right now with 3rd party devs they can make deals that MS can't so MS's only option is to outright buy publishers so Sony can't make deals.
In order to have a great AAA game these days you need a massive budget, a ton of time and a large dev team. And even with that it's still hard to make something great.
Last year MS only had a bunch of AA games, this year Sony only has Spiderman 2.
Publishers need to take note of MS and the success of games like Hi-Fi Rush and Pentiment AA games are needed to pad out lineups while the AAA games cook.
Looks like a Fortnite clone with that art style will likely be free to play game.
Wouldn't be surprised if they have a mobile version too.
It could be they are selling more XSS than XSX now since it's just revenue not unit numbers.
Expected scores, just still can't get over the fact Sony paid for 2 years exclusivity for this over something like FF16.
Good on Square Enix though that money probably covered dev costs.
It is a good game or no one would still be playing it after all these years.
Fortnite was terrible at launch look at it now.
No Mans Sky was terrible at launch look at it now.
FF14 was terrible at launch look at it now.
And on and on and on.
Most GaaS games suck at the start but the good ones find their way and succeed like SoT. You don't have to like GaaS, most hardcore gamers who are on these sites don't, but...
Sea of Thieves is Rare's most successful game and one of the few GaaS successes in recent times. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's not a great game.
Disappointing that it looks like Sony is making yet another 3rd person action game with RPG elements, they should try maybe making a 1st person game or a multiplayer game to diversify their lineup.
Yeah this seems like good news for MS, in phase 1 they wanted to block so they would have finished phase 2 fast if they still believed that.
Likely they will approve but are thinking of any concessions they could add.
No one thinks PSVR2 is bad piece of tech literally no one has said that. Even Kinect was deemed amazing tech when it launched.
The problem is it is expensive, requires a PS5 and has a wire still. When Apple launches their VR headset this year the premium market will be gone for Sony and it will be between the cheap Quest or the premium Apple VR.
But at least some PS gamers will have something good to use but it won't set the world on fire for VR mar...
Sounds about right but I see around 5ml lifetime.
The recession and PS5 requirement will ensure it sells well below PSVR1, hopefully Sony drops support quick and moves on.
Why would MS payoff Chile to approve the deal when their approval doesn't even matter for the deal to close? MS only needs UK, EU, US and China to close the deal no one else matters wether they approve or disapprove.
All this does is show that the deal isn't anti-competitive.
You guys do realize with Game Pass you get Day 1 games from 3rd parties are well right? That alone makes it magnitudes better than PS+.
Expected. Dev costs are increasing for single player games, Sony needs a way to make more money so expect $35 chunks/episodes of game which will help spread the profits.
Blockbuster wasn't worried about Netflix either and we all know what happened there....
MS really should remove COD permanently from Playstation if this is true and the deal goes through.
Sony deserves the same treatment.
Massive comeback story, it's great when devs don't give up after an initial failure.
To be fair Sony and Bloomberg could be telling the truth. Bloomberg was referring to internal "projections" not what Sony had planned for "production".
I guess we will find out if Sony ever releases numbers.
