I love this game! I just played it last night. Genesis and TurboGrafx 16 - shooter heaven in the early 90's.

"Both should fear Nintendo. I do. If the crappy Wii is what the mass market wants I fear Sony and Microsoft will give it to them, which is sad. It would be a step back."

I'm not worried about that. The combined 50 million 360's and PS3's sold so far this generation prove that there is still a huge market for "real" games.

Having a great lineup on paper, and actually delivering in the real world are two different things. Just ask a New York Yankees fan.

Exactly - this is like saying "is Honda afraid of Toyota". Neither company is going to leave the industry.

It says a MINIMUM of $10.

@1.1

As much as you would like to believe that Sony has a monopoly on highly rated exclusives, a closer look at Meatcritic will show that PS3 has 4 exclusives rated 90 or higher, while 360 has 5, not to mention 360 also has several XBLA exclusives rated in the 90's. Games released prior to 2009 don't just disappear because new ones come along - remember, to a new buyer - which is what MS and Sony are seeking - ALL games are new to them. And, while Sony's 2009 lineup looks imp...

What else can MS do?

The primary, best selling 360 SKU is now at $299 after 3+ years - which was the STARTING price for consoles such as PS1, PS2, and Xbox.

The 360 Pro started at $399 in 2005, it's now $299 - a 25% drop over 3+ years. the Arcade (formerly core) started at $299, now it's $199. Plus - both have added features as prices dropped. In contrast, PS3's primary SKU started at $599, now it's $399 - already dropped in price by 33%. If Sony drops the pr...

You're right - If PS3 and 360 were released at the same time, 360 would be WAY ahead to the tune of about 14 million per year for 360 to 10 million per year for PS3.

A few facts - PS3 was announced in May, 2005. So, when Xbox 360 went on sale, everyone knew PS3 was coming. Therefore, anyone who bought a 360 between November 2005 and Nov. 2006 did so with the full knowledge that PS3 was on it's way. Anyone who bought a 360 between Nov. 2006 and today did so while the two mach...

HDDVD - I really hope you are not from the US. Insulting your country just because your console of choice is trailing the competition is beyond reprehensible. People like you give the US a bad name, not 360 gamers.

HDDVD has obviously never owned a PS2 - he must have owned an Xbox last generation. Every Xbox had a hard drive built in, PS2's required a $50 8MB memory card. Every Xbox had an ethernet port built in, PS2's required a $40 adaptor to play online. I know I posted the same thing at 1.8, but some people don't see the double standard.

MS apparently learned a few lessons in their loss to PS2 last generation. The Xbox included an 8GB hard drive in every console for no extra charge, yet MS watched as PS2 owners gladly forked over $50 for an 8MB memory card.

@1.10 - "they did it"? So, you're admitting that Sony ripped off PS2 owners last generation? Did you own an Xbox last generation with free built in memory, or did you pay Sony for the privilege of saving your games on a PS2?

The past has a great deal to so with the present. The better "value" console did not win last generation, and the better "value" console is not winning this generation. That pattern cannot be ignored. As no-spin said - it all comes down to the games, and despite the best efforts of many on this site to prove otherwise, the 360's excellent game lineup is keeping 360 sales alive.

The EB leak seemed to be just heresay - someone overheard an EB employee tell a customer something. Nothing was on paper. The Target leak seems to have some evidence to back it up.

The article says that the bundle will still sell for $399 - it's not a price drop. Bundling older games really costs Sony nothing because those games have already made their money for Sony while they were full priced. MS did the same thing when they bundled Forza 2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance with the 360 in late 2007.

Let's take a look back at PS2 vs. Xbox:

PS2 came out a year sooner
PS2 was less powerful
PS2 owners had to pay $50 for an 8MB memory card to save games. Xbox included 8GB of memory for no additional cost.
PS2 owners had to pay $40 for a network adaptor to play online. Xbox had an ethernet port built in.
PS2 owners had to pay $20 for a 4-player adaptor. Xbox had 4 controller ports built in.

Yet, despite all that, PS2 crushed the Xbox...

You're right. I was just listing PSN vs. XBLA.

If the PS3 was really a better console with better games, it would outsell the 360 regardless of price. Remember, the PS2, at $300, outsold the $150 Dreamcast. PS2 outsold all competitors without ANY price cuts.

You say that the 360 is selling well ONLY because of price, right? So if Sony drops the price of PS3 and sales skyrocket immediately, how would that be any different? You put down the 360, yet you wish for exactly the same thing to happen to the PS3.

Sony would be crazy to drop the price by $100. Start with a $50 cut and see if it results in an adequate increase in sales. If it does, then Sony will get their increased market share and lose $50 less on each console. If it fails to spark sales enough, than Sony has the option to initiate another price cut somewhere down the road. If Sony drops the price by $100 all at once, they will never know if they could have had the same success with just a $50 price cut. I doubt that Sony would p...

Wow, I come home from work to find that I'm public enemy #1 on N4G. I guess lists of 360 games are off limits on this site.

@1.18 - Forza 1 has a higher metascore than Gran Turismo 4 - same generation. Maybe I wasn't clear enough about that in my post. Forza 2 is, so far, the only complete current generation driving sim. Until some competition comes along, I can only compare it to what is currently on the market. PS3 fans have no problem talking about their "demo"...
