Isn't that why MS released a demo over a month ago? So ANYONE can try before they buy?

Sounds like PS3 fanboys are desperately hoping for something to derail a strong 360 release.

When you have the lowest priced console, it is a huge advantage to promote multi-platform games. MS is looking to increase sales, and they want potential customers to know that a $200 console can play most of the same games that the competition's $400 console plays.

Besides, MS obviously knows how strong Sony's exclusive lineup is this year. I highly doubt they will fall asleep at the wheel and not announce major exclusives of their own.

How did they lose Xbox fans? The 360 has outsold the original XBox in a year less time.

It's all about the games. People will put up with hardware defects if they like the games. Just like the PS2 had many defects, but people tolerated it because they enjoyed the games. Gamers didn't flock to the more reliable Dreamcast.

There is plenty of good 360 news on the internet, just not on this site.

Interesting how PS3 fanboys say that Sony doesn't pay for exclusives. I guess Polyphony, Guerilla Games, Media Molecule, Konami, etc. make PS3 exclusives for free out of the goodness of their hearts.

@callahan

You're right - Ridge Racer 7 is a great game. I like Ridge Racer 6 for 360 (I think they are basically the same game). I forgot about PS3 Ferrari - I've wanted to play that game. I hope it comes out for 360 this year. I loved the F355 game for Dreamcast too - now that was REALLY hardcore.

The one genre where the PS3 doesn't deliver as far as exclusives while the 360 does is racing - which is, by far, my favorite genre. Here's a rundown:

360 has Forza 2 - the ONLY complete current generation driving sim. While Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is a good game (and has AMAZING graphics), it's 6 tracks and 70+ cars cannot compete with Forza 2's 35 tracks and 300+ cars. Plus, Forza 2 is still a very good looking game, and also runs at 60FPS.

360 has Project G...

That's why MS released a demo a month ago - to educate gamers. If MS was trying to sell Halo Wars on the Halo name alone, they would not have released a demo for anyone to try.

"People will buy it not even knowing it's an RTS"

The demo has been available for weeks now. If MS was trying to trick people into buying the game based on the Halo name alone, they would not have released a demo for everyone to try first.

That explains why Sony chose Gamestop as the exclusive retailer for the Killzone 2 demo - because they fly under Microsoft's flag. Right. Gamestop is a corporation, and their main concern is profit - nothing else. They don't care about fanboy crap, graphics, which game engine is better, etc., only profit. If Halo Wars has more orders, and will produce more profit, then they stay open late to sell it, simple as that. Believe me, in this economy, retailers cannot afford to be biased. The...

Based on the lack of an intense marketing push, I think that even Sony realizes that KZ2 is not going to be a system seller. It's an M-rated, hardcore shooter, and that genre does not appeal to enough people who still have not upgraded their gaming console. KZ2's target audience is hardcore gamers who have been with PS3 since the beginning, and can appreciate it's nuances.

It's pretty obvious that Sony is positioning God of War III as it's biggest system seller. GOW3 is over...

God of War III is more likely to be a system seller than Killzone 2. GOW3 is an established franchise, and it is a platformer, which will appeal to more people. KZ2, while it may be a great game, might be a bit too hardcore to appeal the mainstream consumer who is on the fence as to which console to buy. On the other hand, both are M-rated, and killer apps are never rated M, so that may not help. Gran Turismo 5 on the other hand, if it delivers what is promised, may turn out to be the big...

Funny, I though CNET was being accused of being owned by MS just last week when they said something negative about Sony.

"Everyone knows the 360's hardware failure percentage is the worst on console history."

That will never be known for sure unless Sony releases it's numbers.

PS3 is NOT outselling 360, regardless of how you spin it. There is no "2-year span" because 360 has been out for 3 years, and PS3 has not. Those extra year sales DO count, whether you want them to or not. Sony has a LONG way to go just to catch 360, let alone surpass it. It is mathematically impossible for PS3 to even tie 360's sales in 2 years, let alone pass it out. Do you realize how much PS3 would have to outsell 360 by EVERY month just to tie in 2 years? Over 300,000. A...

And who would know the "true" numbers better than you, right? I suppose you've done a door to door survey to back up your opinion.

I also suppose that whatever Sony says about PS3's sales are always 100% accurate.

@below
I DO NOT think the PS3 is doomed, I'm just sick of Sony fanboys who are oblivious to the obvious, claiming that the 360 is doomed every time PS3 sales numbers are reported. My comments are ALWAYS in response to those claims. ...
