MLB 09 is the best baseball game ever - having Dustin Pedroia on the cover (and in the commercials) seals the deal.
Go Sox!!!
So, the Halo name is "milked" because there have been 3 full FPS games (plus 1 to be released this year) and 1 RTS game in 8 years? It's not as if there have been any bad Halo games - the Halo name has a history of commercial and critical success.
I could say that Sony could put the Gran Turismo, Ratchet & Clank, or God of War name on any turd and people would buy it as well.
Capcom has said that the June 29 date is wrong - it will be released at the end of July.
Luckily, nearly everyone at N4G already has a PC with powerful specs like that. After all, don't we always hear:
"(insert game here) isn't really exclusive - I can play it on my PC"
Bigger doesn't always mean better (as far as # of GB's go). After all, isn't the next "true" MGS game - Peace Walker - going to be on PSP? On a 2GB UMD? If you think that putting a game on 360 automatically means lower quality, you must really have low expectations for the PSP game.
The worst type of fanboys are the ones who hope for the failure of a major game for their own console. MGSR will be a MAJOR release for both 360 and PS3, yet some here are hoping it fails, thereby hoping a major PS3 game fails, simply because a great MGSR game for PS3 would also mean a great MGSR for 360, and that is intolerable to some fanboys.
Read my comment again. Am I saying anything against GT5? I'm a fan of racing games, and I wanted to see the new GT5 pictures.
How GT fans support their game = Spam EVERY Forza thread with moronic anti-Forza comments.
How Forza fans support their game = they stay in Forza threads, and know what a good game Forza is so they don't have to post anti-GT remarks in Sony threads.
There are NO anti-GT comments anywhere in this thread, yet EVERY Forza thread is full of 360 haters.
It will only excite people like you who favor graphics above everything else - real racing fans know better.
In all the time I've been involved with this site, I have never, until now, seen PS3 fanboys so AFRAID of a 360 game that they have to spam EVERY Forza 3 article with such moronic comments.
Halo & Gears of War didn't bring you guys down to this level of stupidity - what is it about Forza 3 that scares you so much?
Nothing wrong with that. A lot of people like you enjoy simpler games, with simpler options, that are easier to play, and that's what NFS offers. Not everyone is good enough at racing games to be able to be successful at a sim racer like Forza.
You're not alone. Many people will choose NFS Shift because the NFS games are simpler games, with simpler options and simpler gameplay, and a lot of people just aren't good enough at racing games to handle a sim like Forza.
A LOT of people will choose NFS Shift because it's easier to get into an arcade racer than it is to get into a sim. Forza is very complex, it takes a lot of practice to drive successfully, and a lot of people just aren't good enough at racing games to enjoy a game like Forza. NFS Shift is a simpler game, and provides the simpler option for those people.
Regardless of what they say, they haven't released it yet, and there's not even a playable demo. That's why it can't be included in this comparison.
Saying Forza is an arcade racer similar to Need for Speed only proves that you probably have never played either. These games are being compared only because they will release at nearly the same time.
The only thing Forza and NFS have in common is that they are simply in the same genre - racing. Forza is a sim racer, NFS is an arcade racer. If they are becoming more similar, it is because NFS is moving towards becoming a sim like Forza and GT.
What NFS game ha...
@1.3
They are comparing them only because they will release within a month of each other, and they are both in the racing genre. GT5 is not included because it's not finished yet and has no release date, not because GT5 is somehow in a different league as some think.
The best NFS game was Hot Pursuit 2 for PS2 (the Xbox version was OK, but not as good as the PS2 version). After that, EA jumped on the "Fast & the Furious" bandwagon and never got off. I'm looking forward to "Shift", but the Need for Speed name has been seriously tarnished in the last 5 years. I hope "Shift" is great though, because there's ALWAYS room on my shelf for quality racing games.
@deviant
That may be true, but corporate actions have nothing to do with this site - only we control what happens here.
I agree. I would think MS would probably release a "slim" 360 with Natal built in or included. I seriously doubt a new console would come out in the same year as such HUGE games as Alan Wake, Halo Reach, Crackdown 2, & Mass Effect 2.
You are completely clueless. Whether you want to accept it or not, the 360 has the games (both exclusive and multi-plat) that more people want to play - plain and simple.
Americans choose "cheaper" products? Yeah, that explains why the $149 Dreamcast beat the $299 PS2, right? Oh wait, ..
EDIT @ below - So, I guess when the PS3 gets "cheaper", and more Americans buy one, it will be because the PS3 is "cheap and easy", and not becau...
