Xbox 360 is 2005 technology and PS3 is 2006 technology. I find it VERY hard to believe that the elitist PS3 fans - who LOVE to praise the top of the line technology - will settle for the 2nd or 3rd best console technologically come 2012 when the next Xbox and Wii are on the market.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

Having the best lineup on paper means NOTHING if you can't deliver where and when it really counts. Just ask the Yankees.

ALSO - the supposed 70% reduction in manufacturing costs does NOT mean that Sony will (hypothetically) open it's PS3 factory doors one morning to discover that a PS3 is miraculously 70% cheaper to produce than it was the day before. The 70% is probably off of the original $800-$900 cost of productio...

Some of my favorites (maybe not all-time top 10's, but I really enjoyed them):

Tetris by Tengen - best 8-bit version of Tetris - mostly because it was a port of the awesome arcade version.

Rush'n Attack - Not quite as good as Contra, but fun anyway.

Rad Racer - The NES's answer to Out Run.

RC Pro Am - Although I'm not sure if this was made by Nintendo or not.

After Burner - Not as good looking as the Sega Master System...

"Much like all 360 "victories", this Forza3 excitement is due to the lack of Sony even being present."

Let's apply this standard to some other genres and games. GT1 and GT2 on the PS1 had no competition - therefore the excitement surrounding those games was only due to the fact that Sega and Nintendo were not present.

The God of War series has no similar games on competing consoles. Therefore, there should be no excitemen...

It makes perfect sense. I have a PC that I bought in 2005. It has 512mb memory, an Athlon XP processor, and an Nvidia GeForce 4 MX graphics card. I doubt it could even play the first Splinter Cell, let alone any new games.

However, an Xbox 360 purchased in 2005 can play Splinter Cell Conviction perfectly.

Unless EVERY PC (right out of the box) can play each of those games, the whole "it's also on PC" arguement is meaningless. ALL 360 games can be played on ALL 360's, just as ALL PS3 games can be played on ALL PS3's. The same is not even close to being true for PC's.

EDIT: Milo and Natal aren't even out yet, so those comparisons will have to wait for another time. As far as HDMI is concerned, that is just an audio/video output issue - it has no effect on the fact th...

PS3 fans have been bragging about the PS3's game lineup all year (especially the exclusives). Now, when 360 fans do the same, you whine and say it's somehow "unfair"?

It's not like PS3 launched in 2008 - it's in it's third year already - nearly halfway to the point where Sony traditionally upgrades to a new console.

EDIT - It's still in it's third year. It's third year began on November 4, 2008 and will end on November 3, 2009. On...

GT5 will outsell Forza because GT has always been a killer-app console mover for Sony, much like Halo & Gears of War are for MS. No racer will outsell GT, just as no FPS will outsell Halo or Gears. As for which will be better, that will simply come down to personal preference. Despite what 4.4 thinks, there are NO facts to conclusively make a judgement. Forza scores higher in many reviews, GT scores higher in others.

If NFS Shift can get some good early reviews, as well...

Sack_boi has a valid point. Many here on N4G are quick to call PC a "platform" when discussing exclusives. You can't just disregard it when it doesn't fit your arguement.

Any PC sold during June that runs Windows is fair game to be added to 360 sales as the "MS family", using Yomiro's logic.

"These are American numbers only"

So, these numbers should matter to people living in North America. Just as Japan numbers matter most to people in Japan, and European numbers matter to Europeans.

Unless you own your own plane and jet-set around the world, I don't know why you would care about sales from countries where you don't live.

What country do you live in?

This generation, it seems Sony has learned from Microsoft (how to include everything), and Microsoft has learned from Sony (how to let consumers choose what they want). Last generation and so far this generation, one strategy has proven far more effective than the other.

Similar to how Xbox included everything in the box (built-in memory, built-in broadband, 4 controller ports), while PS2 owners had to pay extra to save games, connect 4 controllers, or get a broadband adaptor. By your reasoning, I guess uneducated consumers were Sony's best friend last generation.

I'd rather have 400 cars and 100 tracks than 800 cars and 35 tracks. But, if car quantity is most important to you, enjoy GT PSP.

If you think Forza is rubbish, you must think even less of GT4 and GT5P since each is rated lower than Forza.

Real professionals also know that accurate damage modeling is crucial, and it has yet to show up in ANY GT game, while Forza has had it since 2004. Sure, it MIGHT be in GT5, but it's still questionable as to whether it will be for all cars, or just rally cars. Besides, GT5 doesn't even have a release date yet, so you can only gaze into your crystal ball if you want to know if GT5 will have proper damage modeling. Either way, GT is only 6 years behind Forza when it comes to damage.

@JOLLY

I'm sure you realize by now that many PS3 fanboys are scared of Forza 3, and that's why they spam EVERY Forza article with their hate.

You know you've succeeded when you become hated, and Forza is clearly an extremely successful franchise.

Reflect the actual track?

IGN specifically mentions that the trackside trees cast shadows on the track, yet they are not picked up on the cars.

EDIT: I don't have to get GT5P to see great reflections - they are already in the racing games I've been playing for years.

Mis-reading? Here it is word for word from the article:
"If you look at this section in the video you'll notice that while the trees have cast shadows on the ground, the...

Greywulf, are you really wondering where the haters are???

Look in the mirror - the haters are people like you who use ALL of their bubbles posting moronic nonsense in Forza articles, yet you have barely anything to say in articles actually about GT5.

EDIT: Speaks for itself?? Not quite. If that was the case, then why do the haters like Greywulf attempt to speak for it in EVERY Forza article. If you guys really thought GT5 was good enough to stand on it's own,...

"Definitive racer has 0 features & A psp game has more vehicles. lol."

"We are on Forza 3 and the series has yet to reach GT2 car count i think it matched GT1 car count"

That's why GT3, with 150 cars, is much higher rated than GT4, with 800 cars. You guys just don't get it, it's about the quality of the racing, not number of cars in the game. But, if quantity is more important to you than quality, that's your choice.

People seem to forget that the roles were reversed last generation. Xbox included built-in memory (8gb) while PS2 owners had to buy a $50 memory card just to save games. Xbox had built in broadband, while PS2 owners had to buy a $40 adaptor. It didn't hurt the PS2's sales or reputation, just as the 360 is not suffering now.

Percentage is meaningless when it comes to game ratings unless you close your eyes and choose games at random. You DON'T have to play the bad games to get to the good games. As consoles get more popular, and more games are released, the percentage of highly rated games will ALWAYS go down. Look at the PS2 - it has over 400 games rated 60 or lower at Metacritic.

Would you rather own a console with 100 total games - 50 of which are 80+ rated (50%), or a console with 500 total ...
