I'm typing this from a PC. How about you?

I do find F2Ps tend to be boring after a while and the sheer loss of motivation after leaving one for a time. This become more apparent in shooter based F2Ps. You pwned that noob with your Level 6 mech/soldier/warrior today. Leave the game for a week or more and he's back for vengeance as an Level 45 Avenging Angel with fully equipped/upgraded impossibly rare gear.

"Therefore, it’s a bit odd that this MMO game – and since its an MMO, it almost felt a given that it was suited for the PC – is not officially coming to the PC."

MMOs has been a big part PC gaming for years. Now PC gamers are asked to beg for a console MMO to be released on the PC.

Not signing.

What about open up the game maps into a free-roaming multiplayer? Just for fun so players won't have big expectations(like ranking, K/DRs or points) and let loose on the game world. They could add other stuff in updates/DLCs later on.

Like what modders did with Just Cause 2. The game doesn't support mods at all and yet some modders made it into mayhem paradise- with thousands of gamers sharing a single server doing whatever they like.

Do that for the ...

When BF3 was announced exclusively as a DX11 game for the PC, console fans laughed while saying that they can count with with their hands the number of DX11 games out there.

When, PS4 and XBox One were announced, console fans seem to forget that DX11 exist on the PC too. Or the explosion of games supporting DX11 after BF3.

I read the article and the explanation about how the player doesn't need to press anything to lean...just go near the edge of a wall and the lean mechanics kick in.

Wait...I've played a game once and it did exactly that! Damn it, I forgot what the game was.

Everyone avoided bringing MMOs/F2Ps in these arguments. We are talking about game that millions play and those two genres are played by millions of gamers everyday.

Console fans understandably avoid mentioning this since the sheer numbers (of players and exclusivity to the PC) would just crush their beloved console exclusives.

As for PC fans...why don't you bring up those two genres to these arguments? It's a big mistake because we all know the conso...

You should've seen a gaming magazine in my place several years back. It showcased the latest game reviews from every platform but PC games will always be the last section, at one time no PC game review at all. Not surprising since PS3 and 360 were booming and the "PC is Dead" was the rage.

The most annoying part was how they called the review sections : Reviews for both consoles are in a section called "Console Keep" while the PC reviews are in the &qu...

Next gen console hardware is made by AMD with PC components. AMD said it'll expand those specific hardware to other gaming platforms...namely to mobiles and PC.

So...yeah, that might be a good indicator for things to come. Sony tried to expand the PS3's CELL to other business but the only thing I've heard of are CELL-powered washing machines. AMD on the other hand has a better chance and real motivation (Nvidia and Intel) to expand thos...

Ah...Ubisoft is at it again. Now with a big brother, MS, to stand behind with. They tried to enforce always online DRM for its PC games but PC gamers gave them the middle finger. They gave in but only for a while when MS introduced X Box One. Console gamers can't bitch about their DRM when their own console is the physical manifestation of always online DRM.

"Just because YOUR PC can run games at a certain level doesn't mean the next 100 people's pc can.

"True...if you're still looking at the past. It's changing. Let's stop with the graphic whore argument and look at what the potential effect next gen console hardware will have on PC gaming in the near future:

If a game is optimized for an X86-based console using PC-like development process (the very s...

Age of Empires is back, hell yeah...wait, it's an F2P.

Mechwarrior is rebooted with new engine....wait, it's an F2p.

Diablo 3 is back!!! But it's a online only and transaction heavy affair.

Ubisoft is rebooting Silent Hunter...wait, it's an F2P.

Command and Conquer Generals will have a sequel...oh, it's an F2P now, along with future iterations.

Simcity is rebooted...

The o...

An unfair comparison.

This one is an old game with improvements from modders who only have love for the game and dedication to back them up. They did this for free in their spare time.

The other one is an old game with a lot of polish from a game company with the backing of millions of dollars and tons of staff. They did this for money and guess what: they might do this all over again for X Box One.

"Steam doesn't have Live TV or can play movies, on or offline"

Steam is on a PC...so why can't you watch a movie or TV from that PC? Do Firefox and Youtube or the good old old optical drive on the PC ring a bell?

That's a new way to cure a fever.

@kevnb

Agreed. Consoles gamers kept using the old atrocious DRM argument against PC gaming when their own consoles are practically physical DRMs (I remember reading that one of the processors in the PS3 is set as some sort of DRM). Intel and MS tried to apply that to the ill-fated Pentium 5 but failed since the PC is too open for one corporation to monopolize. Now that MS is making their own hardware, they can DRM the whole system to their own liking.

What...

"it's about PC gaming, tablets, browsers."

That sounded suspiciously like the PC will get this game earlier that he next gen consoles as a mobile game (Windows 8 exclusive) but the next gen consoles will get the full gaming experience as exclusive launch titles.
