So the game has a pretty amazing collision detection and damages (for a mobile game) which is obscenely exploited as a device to extort money from the player. This racer reminded me of the sailing game I've downloaded. The amount of repairs your ship need after each battle is almost the same as the amount of gold you've recovered from the same battle. There's barely enough gold to upgrade the ship unless you take out your credit card to purchase gold that you need to purchase the ...
If they had asked the question several years ago I might answer no. It's great having to extend the gaming experience. Now, though, almost every games must have multiplayer aspect just so the publisher/developer can tack on some social features and mp DLCs.
Just look at Max Payne 3 and Tomb Raider. Both were originally singlplayer games but now their reboots both have multiplayer. MP3 has tons of DLCs...skins and map packs only. There was a noir filter for all game modes ...
I don't see any problem with a female being the main character. One of my earliest favorite female game character is Kotoko/Mia from Oni.
This article though sounds too close like when George Lucas was promoting the movie Red Tails and one of his main flame bait claims is that the major studios refused to publish his movies because it has an all blacks main cast. Lucas was hoping for some controversy (GTA and CoD tend to be expert in this) would give the movie some free e...
I don't know...
After playing around with it for a while I noticed that Arma 3 readily accept X-Box 360 controller. Plug one in and all the appropriate icons changed to show the X Box icons - just like what you would see from a multiplatform game. Even the infantry controls feel nice with the controller. The command system now feels more streamlined...enough for a controller only experience. Although you can't change modify the controllers yet and you can't do any...
That's weird. So it's OK for PC gamers to be inconvenient by these DRMs but it's big NO if consoles have them too? It's one of the main points console gamers used to justify their loyalty to consoles and shun the PC (the pop in disc and play vs constant DRMs on PC argument).
Just as consoles gamers don't want to face DRMs in the PC, PC gamers don't want to constantly look for which server has the best ping to play a singleplayer campaign or enter pass...
There are number of people her are eager for this game to come to the PC. And each of them got one disagree.
Why would some people do that?
So...how did console gamers reacted to the sudden spike of "Console is Dead/Threatened thanks to mobile games" articles early this year? There were a lot of console gamers running like mad dogs trying to deny such a blasphemous thought.
I assume you're using a PC to make this comment, Kietz. Which means you must've instal a software or two at one point. So why are do you need to learn to instal all the software you need?
Even downloading apps for Android devices (no experience with Apple devices) will require you to instal those apps in order to use them. Installing software/apps is practically something everyone does these days.
You're probably using a PC and mobile devices. PS...
Microtransanctions for regular non F2P games can work but only if they are treated as a separate component like regular multiplayer modes. Forcing it to be a big part of the singleplayer experience would just be a big scam.
I don't consider myself a PC elitist because my self built PC packs only an i5 and GTX570. I like pretty graphic but I know my limits are. Yeah, there are high end PCs and there are regular PCs that not cut out to be gaming beasts. It's dividing the PC crowd apart as consoles gets more and more mainstream over the years. PC games don't enjoy the millions of sales except for the rare few.
But wait. It's easy to target the high PC gamers because they are not tha...
The most potentially dangerous thing to come out of the recent SimCity controversy is that the publishers and developers might want to skip singleplayer altogether so they can push some online only version of the game, namely the multiplayer portion. It may sound unlikely since Diablo 3 happened and singleplayer games are still being made and yet it nearly happened with Ubisoft.
Ubisoft had a hard time with it's own always online DRM that it actually tried to shove the F2...
Same here. I look to my shelf next to me and looked in nostalgia at those DVD boxes. Max Payne 3 was the last retail boxed game that I ordered. On my Firefox bookmark toolbar, there's the little bookmark for the retail shop where I used to order my games from. I've only visited the site every now and then only to see if any new gaming peripherals has arrived.
Just like gaming magazines, I prefer the digital/downloadable version of games now. It's thrilling to hold...
She can form combos after combos of fighting moves even though she'd lost her memory. Sounds like a super heroine to me, regardless what she's wearing.
I just noticed that the whole article is set up just like a F2P game or a game with microtransactions:
It used a quote from a studio head as title and a very apt one since that's how we see any big corporations are (evil and stuff). N4G readers clicked on it and we see that the author has an interview with some "outspoken" managing director (I don't know who's Wynand or PikPok Games). The Wynand guy praises EA's shift towards microtransactions, bla ...
They are having problems adapting the Kinect for laptops? A device that was originally a webcam (MS bought the whole company to fully own the tech) for PCs that they pimped into a console controller but now couldn't revert it back for the PC?
There were a lot of ideas and experimentation from independent developers using the PC version/SKU. Wonder what happened to them?
It may be more about graphic over gameplay but perhaps we are looking this in the wrong way.
Maybe they are spending so much time in the shiny stuff for Crysis 3 so they would have an established database for their future games on next gen consoles. Those consoles are coming and Crytek is busy optimizing their game engine through an expensive investment called Crysis 3. Their grand plan to have F2P features for their games would mean their staff would be very busy maintainin...
Do you really want them to? After all those announcements about going full F2Ps for ALL their future games?
NO!
"Just scared you might get prettier games on a $500 machine than on a $1000 one. "
AHHH....there it is.
That's what most people said when the PS3 and 360 came out. That's what the console gamers and gaming sites used to beat the crap out of the PC back in 2006. Some PC gamers beat the chest around futilely while some just lowered their head and endured as they watched curiously as Valve flopping about getting some new fangled contraption ca...
One of the best surprises to come out last year. It's a pity that it's didn't have the reception it deserve.
