It's inevitable that a review will be made even if it is an alpha version but it could do without the score.

If it just an overview of what potential buyers might encounter then it's fine. They should have enough information before diving into an alpha.

Having a review score on the other hand would make it confusing and unfair. Just look at the Steam Machine Beta reviews and we already have people in the comments judging its fate based on those.

"PC only gamers just can't handle when console games look better"

Well the same is true about console gamers. They snickered about the lack of DX11-capable PC games. When DX11 finally took off after BF3 suddenly they said it's not that important.

Here something interesting from the article : "these new additions and changes were something custom just for next-gen consoles at the moment"

@Roccetarius

In contrast there so much online/MMO elements in SP games which is a bad thing in my eyes. I want to play sp games my way, not constrained by the community. They always say we are the Chosen ONE and yet we need the help of 1000 other Chosen ONES to kill that one dragon.

Titan Fall has a story mode alongside its primary online mode. It'll be strange if the story mode tries to tell a sad, epic story about sacrifices and desperation only to have...

I was baby sitting my 2 year old nephew just 2 weeks ago and to keep him occupied I let him watch me play Max Payne 3. After a while he got bored and went to play with himself. When I went to check up on him I was surprised to see him taking cover behind the pillars and lying prone on the floor while firing his toy gun - imitating the mechanics of MP3 gameplay. Before this he just pointed guns and make noises. Last week he started to pretend being shot and falling back, obviously imitating an...

Hey, you have one those F-Meters too? So do I.

I just scanned your comment with my meter and...it just shot itself with a cyanide-laced HE round.

Coincidentally, Just Cause 2 is being sold for $2.99 on Steam atm.

A Lego Titan? Pretty anything can be Lego-ed these days so forgive me if I'm not impressed.

A real life, fully functioning Titan being tested by some military agency on the other hand...

I ran into FPS fatigue this year and avoided a lot of them. The only exception so far is the Shadow Warrior reboot and it was glorious. Just jump in and start slicing demons into pieces, none of that "get behind cover to recharge your health" mechanic flooding today's FPSes.

Familiarity so users can adapt faster than re-learning everything between two different interfaces. That's what MS is doing with Windows 8 across several devices including X Box One.

Man...being a console gamer sounds so hard and fragile. I never knew you guys suffer greatly if there's no sticks on controllers. I guess console gamers don't use smartphones then since a little bit of stick-less touch-screen with Angry Bird or Fruit Ninja would certainly make them sick.

I have tried numerous times connecting my desktop and laptop to the living room's HDTV and Steam's Big Picture Mode is a great help. The only roadblock is that we have only on...

When people are even praising the very crate the device is shipped on then I guess Valve is doing something right.

Now I'm wishing the crate itself to be the actual Steam Machine.

I'm curious...did Valve actually claimed SteamOS as the First "True" gaming OS or was it just some bold claim by the article?

4568d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Dual boot is a hassle, no doubt about that but in a way it made SteamOS much more appealing. It gives us an option instead of forcing you to a new standard, something that MS tried to do with Windows 8. You're praising Windows 8.1, a heavily patched version instead of praising Windows 8 in general.

Valve is playing a long game with it products so it knows that straight up forcing everyone to switch to a spanking new OS without any big support upon launch is suicide. I'...

If we're limiting this to consoles then the statement is wrong but if we compare SteamOS to Windows 8(the one made Gabe tick)then yes, it is a true gaming OS for the PC.

It's weird that some people are vehemently against this considering Valve isn't even forcing them to use it.

Isn't Angry Joe part of the TheGuyWithGlasses group? If I'm not mistaken the main reason they chose Blip because of the early movie copyright claims harassing their reviews on Youtube. They thrived and with this new wave of Content ID Youtube is employing will only drive more content makers to follow TGWG's path.

When the X Box 360 and PS3 stormed the gaming world they inspired journalists/bloggers to write up endless "Top 5-10 Reasons" articles (besides the PC is Dead! ones) about why consoles are better than the PC.

It's funny to see that nearly most of those reasons are useless/inapplicable for next gen. The only reason that is seems untouchable is "exclusivity" but at times even that is quite flaky. Even the PC is getting more games that were once console e...

You're missing the point when researching for PC components for upgrades. For me it's the knowledge gained while doing the research. You read stuff, discover information, acquire tips and tricks. All those things may sound tedious but important during and after the build.

I don't do upgrades as often as I used to and I usually don't continue reading up on those PC stuff after every upgrades anymore. When do I have something to change it's back into researc...

Which means any lower-specced PCs can play the game smoothly at the same or above what next gen consoles are giving. Not everyone will be buying 4K monitors or a Titan but they can still enjoy it as well.

In contrast XBox 360 and PS3 owners will be left out of newer games like The Witcher 3 which is exclusively for next gen. The PC version can still be played on any current PC.

The Witcher 3 comments yesterday was so funny. A lot of the comments agreed that t...
