It's funny seeing the console fans giving out these justifications. They are true in a lot of cases but most of the time I get a laugh observing the see-saw nature of the console gamers' convictions.
A year ago they would be vehemently defending the PS3 and 360 by saying that gameplay is far more significant than graphics. They were keen to point out that are games still look great on the limited hardware when PC gamers accused those consoles are holding back graphica...
I don't need TotalBiscuit to remind me how MS treated indie games let alone the PC during the 360 years. A lot of the indie devs simply moved to the PC in order to get their games out inro the market faster. In fact he also said in the same video that MS's own XBL indie store is just a dumping ground for low quality indie games.
It's dangerous to be loyal to one party or letting it monopolize everything but in this case it's not hard to root for Valve after w...
That's what I thought. I don't see the ICRC going to battle and slapping Iragi insurgents or Drone operators with penalties each time they break the Geneva Convention. Where were they when Western soldiers were decapitated on Youtube? It would be strange to see real life human rights agencies failed to catch and penalized those law breakers but in games our characters would be automatically be penalized simply because our bullets landed near some civilians. Of course some of the gamer...
DX is supposed to run on any compatible hardware, not through only one particular brand. It's different from what AMD is doing with Mantle that they made themselves which is exclusively for AMD hardware.
Otherwise how can MS boast that they can port PC games for the X1 in just one day if DX12 is exclusively for Nvidia while the X1 is based on AMD hardware.
So all those huffing and puffing they kicked up after everyone praised AMD for winning the next gen exclusive hardware deals and later for Mantle is just a big smoke screen. G-sync might even be just another layer of smoke screen to make everyone think it's the only choice nvidia has to combat AMD's recent string of successes.
That's the important part of any hardware- support from developers. We've seen a number of hardware that are doomed(WiiU and pre-PS4 Vita comes to mind) all because of the severe lack of developer support.
This is a beta/prototype that is fresh from Valve's own 3D printer presented to a tech conference. We've yet to see how the final product will perform and what developers and modders will turn it into after launch.
If they use upscaling technology then wouldn't that mean PC gamers don't need a Titan or two to experience 4K on the Occulus? Any current or future mid-range PC can do 1080p.
It's pretty much what I've been waiting for all these years. I've always annoyed by the fact that the PC needed newer hardware to drive through new games while consoles are optimized to every last bit of performance. I mean theoretically my card is much powerful than the one on consoles so why do I need to get a new card for this new game?
Luckily the PC does get some optimization over the last several years that there isn't any real need to rush out and get ...
The haptic feedback is quite important. I've tried a number of games on mobile devices with virtual controls and the lack of feedback is very confusing. I just don't know when to appropriately stop pulling on the controls. My muscles screamed for some sort of indications to that and those games also require motions to move which doubles the confusion.
The flat screen on mobile devices do make gaming, especially fast action games, quite confusing so I understand some p...
Their first game, Mars: War Logs, felt like The Witcher 2. Not exactly but it does gives off that feeling. It was a decent game although a bit unpolished.
And just like what CDP did to The Witcher, Spider made a second game that looks far better than their first attempt. A pretty amazing jump for a small dev.
The first one looked like the face of an owl.
The added buttons for the new one made it look like a praying mantis.
Cutscenes took up a lot of space for the PC version of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
No, anti-DRM doesn't mean they want it to share their content freely without expecting us to pay. It means they want us to pay and enjoy their products without encountering multiple layers of pain(DRM). That's what I want.
Banished came out last week and I chose the GoG version over Steam. I will repeat this for The Witcher 3.
My PC isn't because it died last Christmas and I doubt that my gaming laptop will be sufficient(it struggled with TW2). I'm currently looking around for some upgrade/replacement parts.
Taking it slow since the game is still months away. I'm still weighing in my choice whether to stay with my usual medium spec PC build routine or venture into the high end world.
Yes, it will. CDP is extremely anti-DRM(for the PC at least)so putting putting it on DRM-free GoG is more than fitting.
It's a good idea but extremely vulnerable to exploitation and disappointment.
The most satisfying Early Access I've paid for so far is State of Decay but then again the developer doesn't have to do much since they are just porting the game from the X-Box 360. That's the opposite for a number of other Early Access games in my game library that are really first time indie devs who are still developing their games.
That's a really bad cough you have there. You better get yourself checked before it gets worse.
Now it's getting interesting.
A game with 200 planes for you to play with on launch. When was the last time we see a vehicular game offer such a vast amount of content on day one?
Nowadays those extra content are chopped into/locked away in DLCs, microtransanctions or tedious grinding.
It's a risk From Software and a lot of developers have to take seeing that next gen consoles are much nearer to PCs compared to the last gen. Making exclusives is fine and all but one of these days they will be asked by publishers to do some form ports from or to the PC so it pays to be knowledgeable instead of dumping everything to some unknown dev. They have to start somewhere.
Haven't you noticed there are more and more Japanese devs/publishers are porting their ga...
