@KosuraMasuta
That's true. As a PC gamer with a very slow internet connection I am reluctant to uninstal my games. But Steam has a very flexible backup system that made keeping games and transferring them between machines almost painless. I could just use the built in back up utility or just copy the whole folder to an external drive. There's no need for a re-download for a whole game since the patches and DLCs are also part of the backup. The only online process requ...
It's something to do with Japanese and console culture. Japanese developers seem to have this negative perception towards PC gaming in their own country. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance for the PC is even region locked from Japan. Perhaps consoles represent conformity, a highly valued trait in Japan, while the PC represents rebellion.
They, the big developers anyway, have started to port their games to the PC in significant numbers only in recent years.
@Dude420
Exactly. I tried to write the same thing but using a mobile device to type something was such a pain. Spent some much time writing a response only to have the connection cut off when I clicked Reply(twice!).
Lower setting is an important part of PC gaming. Just look at the Steam hardware surveys, which only by a fraction of Steam and PC users, and you can see people who use medium to low spec PCs are the majority. There are indie games that don't...
Just...don't look at it directly. Avoid eye contact. Otherwise you'll have it in your dreams for eternity.
Also in 2012, James Heller in Prototype2. In 2013 there's Marlow Briggs.
What about EA's annual sports games? They have tons of black athletes in them.
I slowly learned how to build PCs through countless magazines a decade ago. Internet wasn't readily available except in towns 2 hours from my old place. There were some rarely-used PCs in my workplace so I unleashed my curiosity on them.
It was a slow journey but it was worth it.
For those interested, give it a try. It's not that hard once you understand the basics. There are thousands of guides available online these days but the basic building proc...
I just spent over an hour with it and the fight mechanic felt so strange, so disconnected. The previous Arkham games hooked me in for hours no matter what but this game is making me sleepy in it's first hour. And why does the punches sounded like Batman is punching snowmen instead of flesh and blood humans?
The game looks crisper but somehow that made it feel like a cheap indie game.
I just finished downloading Batman Arkham Origins a couple of minutes ago! Haven't played it yet and now I read about this?
Crytek did something similar with Crysis. Made just two patches and then quit. Said too busy making Warhead and the sequel. It was so annoying to be left out in the dust like that and even more so several years later when they have time to make it run on the 360, with exclusive features no less(the Crysuit 2.0 controls).
@Gamerdog.
PC gamers don't hate console exclusives. They hate it when console fans kept shoving the exclusivity in their face while saying that the PC doesn't have any. They repeatedly said that's the main reason for them to choose console over the PC.
When the PC does get an exclusive title...console fans will wait for it to be ported to their consoles. Imagine if Star Citizen was Kickstarted and set to launch two years ago, long before nextgen ...
It should be a big news.
PC gamers are able to participate and help develop new features such as Steam's Greenlight and Early Access, all without forcing them to buy new PCs.
Console fans needed to wait for a whole new generation of consoles before they can enjoy new major features such as PS Now.
Angry Joe was furious with Star Trek Trexels and Total Biscuit has Dungeon Keeper Mobile. I guess EA is milking the users' tolerance towards current paywall system as much as they could until a new, better one appears to replace it.
Whenever I see a friend or my sisters playing some new games on their mobile devices, I always asked them "What's the paywall with this one?" out of sheer curiosity(I don't play mobile games that much). I have another friend ...
Total Biscuit's recent video touched briefly about this greedy little game. At the end of the video he showed a nice little surprise.
There are actually people who would go out and buy similar hardware to emulate this PC. They might even able to make a comparable or better one for even less.
In the end these people are the reason why hardware such as those in next gen consoles exists. While current gen consoles struggled with customized hardware, these PC gamers kept the development for X86 architecture, DDR3 and GDDR ram alive long enough for console gamers to enjoy when next gen arrive.

I spent two years lugging my desktop around across a river to get to my work place every week. I finally give in and bought a gaming laptop when a tiny capacitor/transistor fell off the desktop. It's expensive but worth it thanks to its portability.
I used to avoid gaming laptops but that was back when the technology was still huge and require huge heat sinks. Today's heat/power-efficient processors coupled with games that aren't that demanding made me warmed up t...
@cgoogno
That's true but now next gen consoles are joining in the fray. Sony and MS are offering their own digital stores while streaming videos on Twitch became the hot new thing during launch. MS tried to put the X Box One as an online service permanently. Some of the hottest new games exclusively for next gen consoles are...gasp...MMOs!
If current PC and mobile bandwith usage is considered a mess, then next gen consoles will make it even worse.
"and here come the PC users trying to downplay every thing console related. "
Just like how console users trying to downplay everything PC related.
PC gamers talk about DX11, console fans are there to remind them the were few games supporting the API. PC gamers talk about RAM, console fans are there to remind them that their PS4 and 360 can still play games with a measly 512mb RAM. PC gamers talk about 1080P and 4K, both software and hardware-wise,c...
"So Region locking is another scumbag thing that companies do."
That's true. I'm missing out on Metal Gear Rsising: Revengeance all because of that and...I pre-ordered it. Still have the useless Steam Keys lying around.
There's a number of Steam games, most of them are AAAs, that are region locked but I can buy non-region locked versions from other digital stores. MGR: Revengeance is the strictest one I've encountered(even the Japan,...
Finished downloading it but haven't played it yet. Reading about the match-making hell, though, might delay me from launching it even further.
Just like Steam. It took years with little to no competitions but now it's the benchmark for others to beat.
Steam introduced Tags for their game library so those should be helpful in sifting through all those titles.
