Steam itself was prophesied to have a doomed future but look at it now. Steam machines might not make giant splashes but it will have a noticeable presence. Valve main business is the PC so it knows that total success doesn't come overnight or over several weeks like consoles.
Consoles are expected to sell millions of unit, fast and constantly. Otherwise it'll be disastrous(pre-PS4 PS Vita and Wii-U come to mind).
In contrast, PCs are designed for th...
As long as a female lead has a good story for me to follow then it's fine by me. If the character is deliberately made to shove some agenda right in my face then I might be . I've enjoyed playing Oni and No One Lives Forever back when there were quite a number of interesting female leads.
There are thousands of DIY PC articles out there and yet there are still people, mostly console fans, think that it's a mysterious, forbidden arcane art that require trans-dimensional space engineering degree to build one. Hopefully even one article appearing on N4G might spark an interest and open up the eyes of a potential PC gamer.
It's a basic DIY but it's still a useful refresher for a casual builder like me who don't build PCs every single day or upgrade...
Maybe it's a game for him. A game where he collects Steam Collectible Cards for some reason. He got to catch them all.
I was just telling some friends about the recent DERP attacks. I returned home and found out that the Steam Store took too long to load. Open up N4G and saw a possible DDOS strike on Steam.
I immediately turned Steam into offline mode just in case.
That's true but since we're patient enough to wait for a game to go on sale then we must have been following a particular game's progress. We should be aware of it's condition by the time it becomes on sale.
All that is left whether the amount of remaining problems are acceptable with our own personal preference.
Another benefit of PATIENCE is that you're getting a better game upon purchase. Not only you save money when buying a game during a sale weeks/months after release, you will also be getting a fully patched game.
We had a meeting at my work place yesterday. As always it was long and boring so I took out my laptop, position it behind some large folders and plugged in a 360 controller.
While the rest of the staff were bickering about something boring, I was hacking away at some zombies and beefing my community in State of Decay.
A future with digital content delivery won't suck. Steam have proved it since its inception.
An online only future where your game is permanently linked to some servers, that would suck. Let's make it even worse: monetize every little bits and pieces of it.
Why not a crossover of both? They are both set in the same world so it would be great seeing Chell teaming up with Gordon. Portal Device and the Gravity gun in one game.
There was a lot of chain rattling weeks before the next gen console launch. A lot of people suggesting, wishing for, the death of major retailers.
And then the rattling stopped and the retail shops are still in business, evolved even by offering their own digital stores. I guess the bloodbath is postponed until MS and Sony have fully flesh out their own digital stores to withstand the aftermath.
The PC digital scene is pretty lively because of a lot of differ...
Oh, come on! I avoided your spoiler an hour ago and now I actually read it because of the replies!
Currently I ran into the usual open world game problem where I don't know whether to continue screw around in the sandbox or finish the story so I ended leaving it for a while. Now I'm never going to finish it knowing that I might be wasting a huge chunk of my time for a huge build up to a major let down.
This reminded me of the first Far Cry where I en...
After WW2 and the nuke attack Nagasaki still exists, thriving and its people living in peace.

What's the point?
"Tons of PC games are being ported over and many are very demanding and huge."
That's why.
What do PC gamers get in return? Sony claimed that they can port PC games for the PS4 faster than the PS3 but never said about porting PS4 games for the PC. Do PC gamers just lie down and keep quite about it? Just look at the fan uproar caused by the Bayonetta sequel exclusive deal with Wii U. For the PC it's even worse be...
The author said he hated the fact that a game changed into a different thing the moment he publish the review. That's actually part of the reason of early access-to get feedback from gamers. Why would he do a review anyway when he clearly knows that the game is not finished?
What about MMOs or F2Ps? These are games that will constantly change even years after they are launched.
When The Witcher 2 was announced for the 360, I told the console fans to have fun. I didn't go and tell them that the PC version is better looking and has free DLCs. I didn't remind them they had to wait for a year for TW2 to get to consoles.
What's wrong with waiting for another couple of weeks? PC gamers have always been forced to wait weeks, months even years for the PC version of a game to come out.
This is Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance for the PC so interested PC gamers will wait for it.
I understand that F2P games have microtransaction because that is how they make money but personally it is also a major factor that constantly putting me off from dedicating myself from them. I have downloaded Warframe a month ago...and I haven't even played it. There was a couple of time when I loaded it up but when it starts the update process, I quit.
Ironically it was Battlefield 3, a game that doesn't have microtransaction, that killed my spirit to play games wi...
And here I thought console gamers doesn't care about graphics. Just look at the comments from articles from last year and you could see how console fans hammer in how graphical advances in the PC are not important because gameplay is much more important. Every articles about how Crysis 3 or BF4 will have wicked new effects exclusively for the PC will be greeted with derision from console fans.
Console gameplay>PC graphic.
Now, when their next gen consoles will...
Ah, MS and Alan Wake. I remember MS said that Alan Wake, an offline single player game, was better on the X Box 360 because it's a cinematic experience that's only available by playing on the couch. A couch!
Now, they are saying it's easier to sell offline single player games on consoles. Well, of course selling games on the PC is harder when you don't actually want to support it! At least they are being honest and doesn't hide behind some furniture as an ...
