The makers of Total War Rome 2 said the same thing. They said achieving 90+ metacritic score was the main guiding force in their game design.

It didn't go to well with bugs and performance issues abound.

Just look at the title. D3 was not designed for controller support and yet they can make it happen. In fact they made it into the perfect version(I love it that Blizzard let the media call it's the prefect version-neither admit it or deny the claim-so that the PC fans wouldn't feel betrayed while the console fans will feel special).

Are you telling me Blizzard was able to add a new feature for one platform but somehow couldn't figure out how to reconfigure it back...

They want to keep console fans on consoles and PC fans on the PC. If they want to they can easily give the same direct control to PC fans but that would mean PC fans won't have any reason to get into the console version.

Divide and conquer. Two huge demographics is much more profitable than one.

I beg to differ. While consoles is the the popular side of gaming, most of the advancement comes from the PC. Next gen are pretty much simply picking up from where the PC had advanced to.

X86 architecture, DX11 and OpenGL, GDDR5, MMOs, MOBAs, indie and F2Ps. These things are pretty much the big things in next gen consoles but they all existed because of PC gaming. Hell, if weren't for Occulus Rift, Sony and MS wouldn't be rushing out their own VR devices this early in...

I know that console devs have to go through certifications from Sony and MS but do the PC versions really need to go through Steam? I was under impression that devs have much more freedom on what to patch or update because Steam is just a sales platform.

"Sh*t still takes time" usually involves multiplatform games where the PC have to wait for the console patches to be certified first. I don't think I've ever heard Valve/Steam ever dictated when a game patch...

"Bandai Namco have confirmed this delay is just for UK physical copies. Customers outside the UK or who are picking up digital copies will remain unaffected."

Yes. Those UK physical copies are super important for those extra pixels.

It's a very uplifting game trailer.

Blizzard could've made the experience the same regardless which platform D3 is played on and yet they deliberately segregated the PC and console fans on this. They can bring the controls and gameplay from the consoles to the PC but they don't want to.

You're right, Agent Hitman! Let's shun/bury the new controller based on a number of lackluster previews using prototypes.

If the freshly 3D-printed, hastily cobbled together prototypes with basic drivers are horribly received by games journalists then the final commercial version launched in a few months will be just as terrible.

It's a gaming machine from Nvidia dedicated to play games. They practically put their own chips on it and asked developers to make games on them.

I just don't get console fans. They don't like PCs because it's too broad/open. They don't like other non-Sony/MS/Nintendo devices because they're not dedicated enough.

I have always wondered about this "gathering of family and friend behind a TV." Is it really that good or is it just an over rated assumption by console gamers?

I understand consoles like the Wii might have the potential to get the whole family in some of the action but other consoles might not be that family friendly. The family would just watching you and probably another person in coop play a game. I'm sure they sit there just waiting for you to finish your ...

That's a very old clip! Just look at the aspect ratio.

You're like using the Hindenburg Disaster to warn everyone about the dangers of modern airlines. Just stop it.

I still played on my first PC, a 666mhz Pentium 3, when the Pentium 4 was launched. It took another couple years and Pentium 4E to finally made me switch. The same goes for Windows XP. I switched from Windows 98SE while MS was busy with some new OS codenamed LongHorn. They promised a new ...

Dying? No.
Stagnating? Yes.

I haven't bought any new FPS since last year's Shadow Warrior reboot, Far Cry 3 and Arma 3. They were perhaps the only new FPSes I actually bought the whole year. The rest of my purchases are littered with third person shooters, RPGs and indie games. I already left CoD long ago and I'm not compelled to move on from BF3 to BF4.

I still like FPS but I do wish they would add more game mechanic to make it less stagn...

Whats App already have thousands, if not millions, of users and making tons of money on their own when Facebook bought it.

Oculus Rift makers are still promoting their prototype devices to backers. It's a cool idea that's getting a lot of attention lately but it's also a new, unproven idea. It would be devastating to give them 16 billion on an idea that might or might not be accepted once the commercial versions are out.

You're right, Valentinus. So give us back The Witcher, Battlefield, Crysis, Far Cry, Unreal, Call of Duty and Diablo franchises so they can return as PC exclusives again.

For me it's still laptops, not tablets, that gets me excited with these recent development in computing. Tablets that are equal or better than consoles would still be extremely limited if they are still bound by the touch interface.

Laptops is neatly tucked between the sheer power of a PC and the portability of a tablet so there should be some interesting configuration to come out of it.

Geralt is unique because he is the established main character in his own story. Whatever dramatic moments we encounter in TW happen only to Geralt. In contrast the same dramatic moments in other RPGs that allow you to custom build your own character happen to a multitude of varying characters.

We all recognize and remember to this day classic games through their main characters like Mario, Link, Snake, Dante and more. RPGs with customizable characters though are only remember...

And why did the government just leave it to be infested with criminals like that? Gotham police is literally overwhelmed by organized criminals with brazen ambushes on patrols and attacks on police stations.

No backups, reinforcement from other states or even a small scale military intervention?

Once the Steam Machines and OS officially released then we might be seeing those wireless KBM rigs. The running theme for most of Valve's products is openness. Just look at Valve games, especially the MOBAs, where fans can add and sell their own stuff. Even the SteamOS is said to be modifiable by other parties.

Valve is busy with their own controller but that doesn't mean others are not allowed to add their own devices, like wireless KBM rigs, to the party.
