@PS4Ohgodwhyyouridissolong!

Well, MS launched the XBox program and left the PC struggling to itself for during the "PC is dead years". A lot of devs jumped ship and PC lost tons of exclusive titles. When you think PC, FPS games is the first thing people would associate it with...not anymore, not after Halo.

Consoles received a lot of ports from PC titles but they never stop for a while to thank the PC for Battlefield, Wolfenstein, XCom, The Witcher,...

"To the development team, the elephants you’ll encounter in the game are meant to be majestic animals, killing them just wouldn’t be right."

They think it's just too majestic to kill. They are afraid killing elephants might encourage real life poaching but at the same time their action say it's OK to poach other less majestic animals.

Mirroring your thinking, I honestly believe that the Witcher franchise should stay on the PC since the XBox has already tons of its own RPGs. The way I see it, Fable is to Xbox like Witcher is to PC.

Money!

Yeah, indie means something when it was still on PC.
When it was touched by consoles...timed or true exclusives for everyone!

I think they have thought of this angle only they think they should let these researchers do all the ground works first. That's why the Kinect is still only a dev kit on the PC even though the consoles have fully fledged official ones, two versions at that. That way a popular new idea could itself be funneled into the consoles if they want to develop it further.

It's similar on how the new PS4 and X1 controllers have the most basic of drivers for PC use- they are lett...

Tell that to the "PC gaming is dying" campaign that everyone, console fans and journalists, participated during the 360 and PS3 days of glory. There was an endless wave of articles comparing PC and consoles, usually highlighting why PC gaming is dead, during that dark time.

Console fans and some journalists that fan that campaign might want everyone else to forget about their little dark deed but NO! We're not going to let you get away with it that easily. That ...

I heard there was game that's specifically locked to 45fps. It was on one of TotalBiscuit's WTF reviews and he highlighted that little detail. Unfortunately, I don't remember the game's title and I think it was either a console or a mobile port.

Idk...The PS4 is built upon existing PC hardware and the majority of the most anticipated games for next gen consoles have been tried and tested on the PC for years like MMOs, F2Ps and indie games.

Sure, you got exclusive contents for some games but PC gamers will be helping to develop new hardware like new types of RAM and CPUs. Where do you think the PS4's beloved GDRR5 RAM and AMD APU comes from? And who do you think will be using and helping to refine GDDR6 or 7 for y...

There's quite a number of people not liking 4K or multi GPU setups. It's nice to see a comment section that is filled with technical stuff and some helpful tips but what's with the dislikes?

I'm being caught up with the current, buying it now(just got out of the woods and catching up with 2 days worth of game news).

One of the first AAA FPS in a long while that I'll buy full price on launch week.

He was? His KD/R was pretty good and he only died a lot when he switched to the sniper rifles. In fact he was killed constantly by far off snipers while he ripped apart those in CQB.

It's the open nature of the PC that allows this and it's human nature to exploit that, whether for good or bad reasons.

PC's openness made it riddled with cheaters and hackers but it's also full of creative people who made mods and indie games. It's also a place where forgotten games/genres get another chance of existing.

Console's closed ecosystem prevented it from cheaters and hacker but it also prevent modding and indie games(it'...

@ LightDiego
Since everyone has a PC of some type, be it laptops or desktops, and they play all sorts of games on them then yes, the PC is arguably the dominant platform.

That's why console fans derided all those MMOs, flash/web games and Facebook games on the PC trying desperate to classify them as non-games because the amount of people playing them effectively outnumbered both console gamers and regular PC gamers. Console fans always wanted to compare their excl...

The PC is not just a go to place for 2D side scrollers but a whole host of different thought-to-be-dead or dying genres.

Point and click adventure game were thought to be extinct with the rise of console FPSes but somehow a few managed to keep on surviving with the help of fans on the PC. Now, their existence are acknowledged by everyone.

The biggest survivor would be survival horror. A big genre during the PS2 era, it found a good place to grow on the PC wh...

I thought PC elitists were bad but apparently a PC/PS4 hybrid seems to be the worst.

As a long time PC gamer let me quote a beloved console fans' mantra: "graphics isn't everything." As much as I love good looking graphics, I don't consider them mandatory when it comes to a developer's capability or design choice.

For a mod team to do this kind of level design is impressive enough and we should just know and accept their limit regar...

MS has a firm grip on the PC with Windows and yet decided to separate gaming into the X Box while leaving the PC out in the cold. Now it is catching up with Steam because it neglected PC gaming.

Now it has some good grip on its own mobile devices and yet now it wants to fragment it even further with dedicated handhelds? It is barely catching up with Apple and Google in the mobile market but somehow muscling into a new market dominated by Nintendo and Sony for decades sounds l...

"2D side scrolling action games are a rarity in today’s market. Gamers are losing touch with the roots of gaming with each passing generation of consoles."

What is he talking about? 2D side scrollers are still alive and kicking, especially in the PC. I seldom play side scrollers when I was younger but since last year I started to enjoy them and I found quite a healthy number of them on Steam alone.

The PC is microsoft...and yet everyone call for the death of PC gaming when the 360 came out and MS did nothing to help. Instead MS started shutting down a lot of its partners that make PC games.

The PC is Microsoft and yet every year after the 360 launch MS have to say sorry for neglecting the PC and promised to give it more attention. They never kept that promise.

The article we're talking about here is all about getting indie devs to get on board the X...

No, they shouldn't. Sooner or later these tech will trickle down to us so there's nothing wrong for us to talk about it now.

I doubt Occulus Rift would be widely accepted as it is now if no one talks about it to generate enough interest or hype to it's existence.
